Judy didn't stay for dinner since it was evident members of the Ford family didn't regard her as a guest.

Sheldon tried to get her to stay since he didn't want her to leave on an empty stomach. It was the Christmas season. He felt bad that she had to celebrate the holiday alone.

Tobias stood up. “I have some work to do, so please excuse me.”

Claudia didn't stop him from leaving since she would only be humiliated. She knew he intended to meet with Skylar since there wouldn't be any work during Christmas. Mannerless was Claudia's impression of Skylar. The latter was dating her son at the moment, and any sensible girlfriend would've visited their boyfriend's family on Christmas. Yet, Skylar had merely asked Tobias to gift them a few Christmas presents on her behalf. Claudia didn't even know if Skylar was the one who had prepared them.

Before he departed, Claudia went to the front door with flushed cheeks. She had gulped down a fair share of wine since her brothers and sisters had gathered together.

She didn't expect Tobias to have a glass of wine with her.

“Skylar still hasn't visited us after all this time, and yet you're going to meet with her? She lacks knowledge of basic etiquette, but can the same be said about you?”

Tobias bent down slightly and dusted away some unknown white powder on his pant leg.

“She didn't come because she didn't want to spoil your mood. It's hard to find such a thoughtful girlfriend.”

Claudia gave him a side-eye. How shameless of him to put Skylar and thoughtful in the same sentence. That's a show of how ill-mannered he is.

She asked the housekeepers to bring her purse, took out two hundred, and gave it to him.

“I'll let her lack of manners slide. After all, the environment she grew up in wasn't healthy. She might not know any better, but as elders, we do. Pass this to her and tell her there's no need to thank me.”

Tobias didn't reach for the cash. “Mom, you're really trying to disappoint Skylar, aren't you? How could you only give her two hundred?”

Claudia insisted what she said was simply the truth. After all, in her eyes, Skylar came from nothing, so two hundred was already a lot for someone with nothing.

Claudia even stuffed the cash into an envelope and wrote: Be fruitful and multiply!

Tobias rummaged through the storage compartment under the armrest for his wallet and opened it. He was satisfied with the thickness of the stack of cash inside.

Taking out all the cash in his wallet, he stuffed them into the envelope. He wanted to tell Skylar the envelope was a Christmas gift from his mother.
