Hello, CEO! Don’t Play With Me!

[51]

“Why the gloomy look on your face?” asked Harvey as he placed a mineral bottle on the table where they had chosen to pull over after two hours of touring the ministry. They stopped occasionally to listen to explanations about the country’s rich culture that needed to be further developed.

Ford’s program this time collaborated with the ministry of culture and the finalists to boost the economic sector. As the designated representative, the third place contestant of Mimm World, Harvey Princessa, was asked to study many places that could be showcased to the public later.

Harvey doesn’t mind; he loves the beautiful places in the country. Although he only visited some areas occasionally, he took the time to visit the tourist attractions there. The other finalists had different tasks, including Giselle. But all of them look happy because the promotion of tourist attractions and related to the culture and ethnicity in the country they live in has its own excitement.

However, Giselle, who had been looking gloomy since she arrived, raised questions from Harvey. Although the girl was able to cover up her gloomy face with a smile and rather cheerful behavior, it could not cover up Harvey’s observation.

“Me?” Giselle blinked twice. Immediately picked up the bottle Harvey had given her. “Thank you,” she said sincerely. Gulped it down until half was left. “I’m fine, Harvey.”

“No,” Harvey replied with a chuckle. He took a seat next to Giselle. Enjoying a break before the tourism seminar resumes. The event ended in a group photo session with the ministry’s people including the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ms. Juliet Swan. A middle-aged woman who was the main speaker at this seminar.

“What’s not?” asked Giselle with a laugh. “You’re just jumping to conclusions. Since I’ve been attending this event, I haven’t missed anything. It’s all quite exciting and fun.”Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Harvey still maintained his faint smile. “Just keep lying to yourself. But I’m not fooled.”

Giselle let out a long sigh, no longer making a sound. Which left Harvey to keep his new friend occupied with the thoughts in his mind. Harvey wanted to tell her about the excitement when Justin came to Maya’s invitation at his agency. It was quite a debate but Harvey couldn’t let it slide. It was too exciting to ignore. Unfortunately, Harvey keeps this story to himself until Giselle is in a better mood.

There will be plenty of time for Harvey to simply tell stories.

“I won’t give up,” Giselle said quietly. Her hand twisted the water bottle with half the water left in it.

“If the results you’ll get are worth your sacrifice, I guess it doesn’t matter. But if what you’re fighting for isn’t worth it, shouldn’t you back off?”

Giselle looked at Harvey with a look of disbelief. “You’re not supporting me?”

“I haven’t heard the full story from you yet.” The girl Giselle was talking to chuckled. “That’s just my personal opinion. Whatever if it’s related to what you’re thinking now.”

“Come with me to buy lots of chocolate treats,” Giselle said half-whining. “I need something sweet to take the edge off.”

“You’re such a dramacholic, aren’t you,” Harvey laughed. But seeing Giselle’s frowning face, Harvey relents. “Okay, I’ll go with you. But don’t you have an event in Long Island next week? Is it okay if you eat a lot of chocolate?”

“It’s okay. I can go on a diet again.” Giselle laughed at that. “Oh, I didn’t expect the time to pass so quickly.” A glance at the clock wrapped around her right arm already pointed to two. The time when the seminar would resume soon. “We should get back.”

“I hope I don’t get sleepy listening to Woddy’s lecture.”

“You still don’t like that guy?”

Harvey grinned sarcastically. “Since when has Woddy’s name been on my list of useful people? He’s one of those annoying guys who should be avoided.”

“Speaking of Woddy, his affair with Kristen went completely unnoticed by the media. That’s great.” Giselle walked along with Harvey at her side. She spoke in a half-whisper so that no one else could hear. After all, the person Giselle was talking about was a high-profile figure here, so they should not get involved in trivial matters that could be used as further drama by Kristen.

Just thinking about it makes Giselle sick.

“Woddy has plenty of money to cover his scandals.” Harvey chuckled. He occasionally greeted the people who passed by them, most of whom were finalists as well. “A rotten carcass, one day it will be found out. While they’re the number one talk, I’ll be the one cheering because this year’s Miss World judging is totally unfair. I’m supporting number two so I can win.”

Giselle raised her hands in surrender. “Joana deserves to be the overall champion. Their scoring points are only slightly different.”

“Right, right?”

“But if Kristen hadn’t won, you wouldn’t have met Justin. You’d still be working under Maya’s armpit. No meeting me, Harvey,” Giselle said proudly. “So thank you that I won the bet.”

Laughing, they rushed to the room that was already filled with other contestants. Almost all the contestants who arrived seemed eager to get back to the show. Although Harvey was sure that most of them just wanted to be on the front page of the gossip and news pages.

Giselle’s eyes caught something familiar. The man was rather thin in stature but carried a large camera in his hands with ease. “I just realized that the reporter for this event is from The Collage’s side,” muttered the girl.

“Where have you been?” Harvey spluttered. “Look, the lineup of invited guests this afternoon.”

Giselle’s eyes widened as one person after another entered the seminar room. And the arrival of the guest also made the atmosphere more festive. It was not uncommon for Giselle to hear gasps of admiration and praise for the man wearing a black blazer who had just sat in his chair.

Whether anyone noticed or not, the man swept his gaze across all the contestants. As if looking for a figure in the middle of the existing contestants. once he found who he was looking for, the man smiled very thinly. while nodding, as if to tell if there was a sense of pleasure in meeting the owner of the eyes that became the opposite of his gaze.

Giselle could only reply with a faint smile. Suddenly, she remembered her conversation with Justin earlier. Including … Justin’s response to her words.

“Have fun inside with Harvey. I’ll pretend this conversation doesn’t exist, Giselle, because to me you’re a very precious sister to me. I always wish you happiness in the future.” Justin again gently rubbed the top of Giselle’s head. He quickly unbuckled his seat belt, got out at a half-run, and opened the door for Giselle. “Come on. Don’t make anyone else wait.”

There’s nothing Giselle can do but obey him, right?
