Hello, Mr. Brent

Chapter 269

Chapter 269

Franklin looked at Emily, smiling foolishly with smiling eyes and dimples appearing on his cheeks.

Emily was surprised and she stared at the dimples on his face. She had known Franklin for so long but

she had never known that he had dimples.

Of course, it could also be because that she had never seen him smile like this before. Seeing him

smile all of a sudden so close, she noticed all the features on his face.

"Franklin, I didn't expect you to be so cute when smiling." Emily couldn't help but touch his face.

But Franklin grabbed her hand and kissed it, saying, "Don't call me by my name. Call me 'honey'. I like

to hear you call me that."

Emily was stunned, but since he had been drunk, she did as he said, called him, "Honey."

Franklin became immediately happy and wrapped his arms around her neck and kissed her lips. After

the kiss, he closed his eyes as if he was going to fall asleep.

Emily remembered that he had told her that he had something to say. But now he fell asleep.

"Honey, don't sleep! Didn't you just tell me you wanted to say something to me? What's that?"

Sure enough, Franklin reopened his eyes, but his eyes were shining brightly at her. After a while, he

smiled foolishly and said, "Emily, you don't know how much I like you."

"How much do you like me?" Emily blushed, her heart trembling slightly, and she asked in a hurried

voice.

"I like you very much, much more than you have thought." Franklin muttered again.

Emily's heart instantly softened. Such a good-looking man told her that he liked her very much. No

matter how much unpleasant things they had experienced before, at this moment, she was moved.

She reached out and touched Franklin's face and said, "I like you too. I like you very very much. You

have no idea how upset I was when you were going to marry Avery. Although I pretended to be

indifferent on the surface, I was hurt."

"I know, I've always known that." Franklin murmured against her forehead.

Emily's eyes suddenly became watery and she choked, "You don't know that. If you knew, you wouldn't

have lied to me for so long."

"I don't mean to lie to you. I'm just angry." Franklin muttered again.

Emily mumbled, "Why are you angry?"

She should be the one who should be angry! If he hadn't done a stupid thing and imprisoned her, she

would have got the news of her son in time and would not miss the possibility of finding him back.

Emily thought that Franklin's anger was out of her being forced to leave him.

But Franklin muttered, "Of course I'm angry. I'm angry that you don't remember me at all. I'm even

angrier that you don't believe my feelings for you at all. You left for four years. You never came back to

me again."

"What? What do you mean about 'didn't remember you' ?" Emily was getting more and more confused.

Franklin suddenly smiled foolishly and kissed her face with half-narrowed eyes. His kisses were from

her eyebrows to the nose and mouth, then to her tender lips, his lips lingering over hers.

But Emily was not in the mood to enjoy the kisses now. The more she thought about what he had just

said, the weirder she felt. She always felt that there was something she didn't know.

So she quickly pushed him away and asked anxiously, "What did you mean just now? What 'I don't

remember you'? Why don't I remember you?"

"You remembered me?" Franklin said unhappily, "I recognized you the moment I saw you. Otherwise,

why do you think I had done everything to save you, though I might lose my life? Do you really think I

was doing good deeds for people selflessly? If it weren't for you... If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have

cared even if someone else died in front of me. However, I recognized you at a glance, but you never

recognized me. You never knew it was me."

Franklin muttered discontentedly, then closed his eyes and fell asleep again.

Emily frowned when she heard his words. The more she knew, the weirder she felt. It was as if they

knew each other, but she didn't remember that at all, according to Franklin's words.

But it shouldn't be! She would never forget a man like Franklin if she had met him once, for his powerful

family background and handsome appearance. When did she meet him before? And she even didn't

remember him?

"Hey, Franklin, wake up." Emily wanted to know the truth so badly that she immediately reached out

and shook Franklin, hoping to wake him up again.

But this time, Franklin really fell asleep. No matter how hard she tried, he didn't wake up.

Now Emily was getting anxious. How could he break off in the middle of his story! He couldn't fall

asleep in the middle of his words.

She hurriedly called out "honey, honey," hoping that Franklin would wake up.

But Franklin really fell asleep. No matter how she shook him this time, it was useless.

And he didn't wake up until the next morning.

Emily had already gotten up since she was not sleepy at all. Thinking about Franklin's words over and

over again, she couldn't figure it out.

Finally came the morning, she got up and went outside to enjoy the breeze.

Without Franklin present, that people had fun all night. They went to rest in the morning, and the whole

boat was silent now.

However, some people got up early too. Emily saw Lisa's obvious dark circles under her eyes and

smiled.

"Did Jason make a scene yesterday? I didn't expect him to be like that after being drunk. He was very

calm at ordinary times."

"Yes, he was crazy last night. I even wanted to get a rope to tie him up and stuff his mouth so that he

could calm down a little." Lisa said angrily.

Emily chuckled. It seemed that Lisa was really tortured by Jason.

"By the way, how's Mr. Brent?" Lisa asked. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

At the mention of Franklin, Emily even felt her back was hurting. Thinking of what Lisa said to her

yesterday, she quickly asked, "You said that Franklin would have some strange behavior when he was

drunk. What's that strange behavior?"

"Uh," Lisa said awkwardly, "to tell the truth after drinking?"

Emily kept nodding. That was it. She had guessed right.

Lisa sighed and said, "Mr. Brent has always been a good drinker. He will stop at the right time and

never go crazy because of overdrinking. I've been by his side for so many years, but I've only seen him

get drunk once, and it seems to be the only time in his life. After that, Mr. Brent has never been drunk

again. He likes to chat with people when he's drunk, and talk about things he doesn't usually say."

"Since you've been by Franklin's side for so many years, do you know that I had known Franklin

before?" Emily thought that it was no wonder that he had pestered her to chat with him yesterday, and

her heart moved and she quickly asked Lisa.
