I Refuse to Divorce

Chapter 91

Chapter 91

Mason lightly pinched her chin. He had no romantic feelings for Lilith, and whether he saw her or not was irrelevant.

He only helped her fix her legs due to their past friendship, and then he introduced her to Aiden. They were square and even.

However, he did not want to explain these things to Zoe. After all, after three years of marriage, he knew what she was thinking.

Right now, she simply did not care about him.

Otherwise, she would not go to such lengths to flaunt her charm just to avoid watching a movie with him.

Zoe was now repulsed by him. She could not even bear the thought of watching a movie with him. Her previous fondness for him had vanished into thin air.

Feeling dissatisfied, Mason became somewhat cranky when they returned home.

Usually, he was tolerant of the servants, but during dinner, he complained that the food was not up to par. The servants were somewhat anxious but dared not speak up.

Zoe knew that his anger was directed at her. Not wanting to make things difficult for the servants, she softly spoke to Mason, "If you don't like the meal, I'll go to the kitchen and make a couple of dishes you enjoy."

Mason remained silent. Leaning back in his chair, he took out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it. After a while, he finally said, "Fine."

Zoe went upstairs to change her clothes and headed to the kitchen to cook. The staff felt uneasy.

She apologized to Zoe, "I'm really sorry, Mrs. Zoe. I'll try my best to do better in the future and not let Mr. Mason trouble you."

In the bright light, Zoe's expression was gentle. She said, "Mason is picky. I've known that for a long time. It's nothing, and it's not your fault."

The servant felt a bit relieved.

Unaware of what was happening at the kitchen door, Mason had been standing there the whole time. He overheard Zoe saying, "Whether here or elsewhere, it's all the same. It's just work. There's no right or wrong."

Zoe had no idea that Mason had been standing there, listening. It turned out that she did not consider this place as home. She treated Mrs. Lockwood like a job, just as she had told Gregory that night. There was only profit, no feelings.

Zoe made two dishes that Mason liked.

However, he only picked at them, not saying much. He clearly was not in a good mood.

After finishing the meal, he went to his study to handle some business matters. Zoe did not bother trying to analyze his thoughts and actions.

As usual, she took a bath, sat in front of the dressing table, and applied her skincare.

At that moment, Mason pushed the door open.

He walked up behind Zoe, and she heard his footsteps as they met eyes in the mirror. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

She assumed that Mason would vent out his anger in bed. Unexpectedly, he stared at her for a few seconds before entering the closet.

The door slammed shut with a loud noise. Mason was in a foul mood.

Zoe thought about what Ella had said, and she somewhat agreed. Mason probably was having an early mid-life crisis.

That night, Mason did not have sex with her. Still, he embraced her while sleeping, caging her body in, his hands wandering for quite some time.

In the middle of the night, Zoe fell asleep.

However, Mason suddenly opened his eyes. In the moonlight, he scrutinized Zoe, who remained serene in her sleep, which infuriated him.

After a while, he turned over, got out of bed, and headed into the bathroom. He stepped on a piece of paper near the trash and picked it up. It was a movie ticket.

Printed on the movie ticket was "My Ex-Boyfriend 4, 5:00 PM."

Mason stared at it for a long time before sneering.

'Zoe must have really taken me for a fool!'
