Subtitle: Getting to know him

“Anderson, where are we going?”

Alexa asked, her voice low.

She was fretting right now, so she was speaking slowly and made sure her voice wasn’t raised.

She was trying to calm herself down, but Anderson not replying to her was making it so difficult.

Breathing in and breathing out, Alexa asked again. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“Where are you taking me?”

But once again, Anderson ignored her completely and instead focused on driving fast.

When Alexa saw him hit the Accelerator gear and drive speedily, she lost control.

“I asked where the fvck are you taking me to you stupid mutt!!!”

Alexa yelled.

“Stop yelling at me! We’re there already.”

Anderson smirked.

Looking away from Anderson and her eyes now focused ahead of her, Alexa saw his company ahead.

“He isn’t taking me there right?”

She asked herself, but alas! He proved her wrong.

He drove the car sleekly into the car garage and parked right in a nice, warm place.

“Come down from the car and follow me.”

Anderson ordered immediately as he stepped out of the car.

“Why are we at your company Anderson?”

Alexa asked confused.

“Because I have some things to tell.”

Anderson replied smugly and walked ahead.

After walking some meters, Anderson turned back and saw Alexa was still standing where she was standing.

Going back briskly, he got to Alexa, held her closely, and edged her on, into the company, through the corridors, onto the elevator, and to his Father’s office.

“Dad, everyone, meet my soon-to-be wife, Alexa.”

“What?!”

Simon, Greg, and Phoebe exclaimed at the same time.

April didn’t speak.

She was enjoying the drama.

“Wait, I’ve seen this girl before… Somewhere.”

April mumbled to herself.

She then tried to recall where she’d seen Alexa.

“Becky… Oh yes! She was the one with Becky the other day.”

April muttered in realization.

“So she’s the one Anderson wants to get married to? Funny!”

She added.

“Don’t tell me…”

Phoebe muttered in shock.

“Anderson, what are you doing?”

Alexa asked more shocked than anyone in that room could and would ever be.

Anderson never briefed her on this.

He never replied to her when she asked him where he was taking her while they were still in the car.

“What I want to.”

Anderson replied.

“You can’t just drag me from your home, bring me to your company and tell people I’ve never met before that I’m your wife!”

Alexa said sternly… But in a low tone.

She was just holding herself because she was in the midst of ‘Only God Knows’ people.

Within, she wanted nothing but to scream loudly and if possible, hit Anderson too!

“Because you are going to be.”

Anderson smirked.

“Excuse me, that’d only happen in your dreams!”

Alexa sharply replied.

“Really?”

Anderson asked amused.

Alexa was about to reply, but Simon stopped their conversation abruptly.

“Sorry, what’s going on here?”

Simon asked, breaking the moment.

At that moment, Alexa and Anderson realized that they were still in the presence of people.

They were always arguing, they were so used to arguing with each other, that a short exchange of words had soaked them into a different world entirely.

“Excuse us, Dad.”

Anderson said, before taking hold of Alexa’s hand in his forcefully and then walking out.

“Dad? That was your Dad?”

Alexa asked dumbfounded as soon as they were out and in a safe corner by the hallway.

“Yes. What’s the matter?”

Anderson asked looking up at her.

“Why didn’t you tell me that was your Dad earlier?”

“Because I didn’t deem it necessary.”

Anderson replied.

“I was raised to always respect elders, you should have told me. Now to him, I’m a mannerless girl… All thanks to you!!!”

Alexa gritted.

“It’s alright. You’ll get all the time to greet and show him respect when we go over for family dinners.”

“And why would I be at any of your family dinners?”

Alexa asked, her eyes darted at Anderson.

“Because you’re going to be my wife soon?”

Anderson questioned back.

“And why would I be your wife?”

Alexa asked confusion written all over her face.

“Because you MUST be.”

“Dude, this is the 21st century. If you’re thinking you can force me into marrying you, I think you should pinch yourself and wake up from your dream.”

Alexa shot rudely, making Anderson chuckle.

“Ready to risk up your brother?”

Anderson quizzed with a huge grin on his face.

“Wtf do you mean?”

Alexa asked.

“I paid for his ‘yet to have surgery, asked you to pay… You couldn’t.”

“So…?”

Alexa asked, not still getting the point he was trying to make.

“I have every right to sell him off and get my money back,” Anderson said and smiled, getting satisfaction from the look that was forming on Alexa’s face.

“What?… Why would you do that? For what reason??”

Alexa stuttered.

“To simply put it… He owes me his life.”

“This is pure blackmail!”

Alexa said, tears already dropping from her eyes.

“Call it whatever you want. The next two minutes determine your brother’s future.”

Anderson said, checking his wristwatch before walking away, back to the people awaiting them.

“Hold yourself together, Lex. You’re doing it for your parents, you’re doing it for JACE.”

Alexa breathed and wiped the tears away from her eyes.

Adjusting her wear, she walked to the room Anderson had disappeared into earlier.

Putting on a smile, she walked in.

The closest person to the door was Anderson, so with that smile still on her face…

She walked toward him and whispered

“I hate you.”

In his ear.

“I love you too.”

Anderson smirked.

Her smile fast turning into a frown, Alexa switched it back up, summoned the courage, and went closer to those people.

“Hi. I’m Alexa Banks and as Anderson said earlier, I’m his fiancee.”

Alexa lied with a smile that was hard to keep on her face.

“She’s lying!!!”
