Chapter 227 Bad Premonition

"Brendon!"

Chris hurriedly caught up from behind, "Let's keep looking. It might not be anything serious."

Brendon ran his fingers through his hair, the sharp anxiety almost shattering his heart. "Ranita wouldn't just turn off her phone and ignore even her friends' calls."

"Her phone might be dead. Brendon... try not to worry too much. It hasn't been twenty-four hours since last night; let's keep searching." This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

"She'll be fine."

Chris' comfort had little effect.

The last time Ranita suddenly went to Moon Mountain Resort, he was annoyed but not as worried as he was now. He had a bad feeling about this.

Someone was looking for Ranita in Kurima.

Ranita didn't know how long she had been sitting there when she finally couldn't resist the exhaustion anymore and dozed off. She was tired, but more than that, she was thirsty!

"Bang!" After who knew how long it had been, the door opened.

Ranita immediately woke up and huddled into the corner of the wall in fear. She couldn't see anything in the darkness which made everything seem scarier; even the sound of footsteps seemed heavier than usual.

"Girl!"

"Ahh!" Ranita screamed as she realized her foot was caught. Terrified, she immediately began to struggle. However, her hands were bound, and after a few attempts, her feet were also restrained.

"Alright, stop yelling and moving around. I'll untie your hands, and you better eat. Then we can hit the road."

This burly man was the one who asked her how much money she could offer yesterday.

After Ranita's eyes adjusted to the light, she revealed a hint of pleading, "Mister, may I ask why you've targeted me? Can't we discuss whatever matter you have in a civilized manner?"

"Heh! Girl, don't try to use that trick on me," the big man shook his head. "If you want to threaten me by saying things like calling police or breaking laws, then I won't talk to you anymore. However, since your attitude is good towards us then I'll chat with you a bit."

"Our boss wants to take you away but I don't know any specifics! Don't scream or move around recklessly though because I won't hurt you."

Although she didn't get any useful information from him, at least she knew that her personal safety could be guaranteed.

She must live on...

Otherwise there would be nothing left at all...

"Thank you so much sir! You're really kind-hearted!" Despite being forced into submission, Ranita still managed a fake smile while thanking this big man politely.

"Hey, girl, you have such a pretty face!" The big man looked at her with admiration, but then said, "Come on and eat."

On the ground was a bowl with only two buns inside that didn't look very appetizing. Next to it was a bottle of mineral water.

Ranita didn't move.

"Don't worry, I didn't poison it," the big man said again.

She wasn't worried about being poisoned. She was afraid there might be some kind of drug in the food that would make her dizzy and disoriented so she wouldn't know where she was being taken.

Ranita picked up the bottle of mineral water first and twisted off the cap. It hadn't been opened before so she drank several sips before stopping.

"This mister here, I don't have much appetite so I won't eat these buns!"

The big man didn't force her when he heard this. "Suit yourself; you're the one who's going hungry."

Just then another voice came from outside, "Brett! Are we ready to go?"

The big man called Brett turned his head back, "Yes!"

Ranita's hands were tied again as they pushed her into a van that rocked back and forth as they drove away without any idea where they were going.

After spending one night like this, Ranita wondered if Brendon had found out what happened to her or if he was enjoying Shannon's company instead.
