Chapter 238
Estrella was on the verge of losing her cool, thanks to Jason’s shameless advances. She struggled, but couldn’t push him away. Jason’s kisses grew deeper, softer, no longer as forceful as before.
It had been years since she’d been close to a man, and Jason’s passionate yet gentle kisses were starting to wear her down. It was nothing personal, just a simple physical reaction.
Her hands gripped his shirt tightly, no longer trying to push him away, as Jason drew her tender tongue into his mouth.
Estrella’s breath hitched. After three years, she couldn’t deny that kissing Jason still made. her knees weak and her blood rush.
Meeting.no further resistance, Jason grew bolder, his hands slipping under her shirt, caressing her waist.
Estrella shivered, goosebumps spreading across her skin. At the same time, she snapped back to reality, remembering she was here on serious business. She pushed him away with force, “Enough is enough!”
Taken aback by Estrella’s shove, Jason clutched his chest and staggered back, his brows knitted, “Estrella, you hit hard. Don’t you care at all?”
Estrella looked at him with disgust, “Cut the act, you’re not hurt.”
But when her eyes fell on his arm, she saw the bloodstains on his shirt. Jeez, his mind was clearly clouded with lust, even risking his life.
She could guarantee that if she hadn’t pushed him away, he would have gone through with it despite his injuries. If anything happened to him, the blame would fall on her, painting her as some kind of slut who wouldn’t let an injured man be.
Jason, feigning pain, moved closer, resting his chin on Estrella’s shoulder with a weary voice, “Babe, I’m sorry. My bad.”
Estrella scoffed, pushing him off her shoulder, “You’re the big shot here in Ravenwood, the untouchable Jason. How could you ever be wrong? And don’t forget, we’re divorced. I’m not your babe.”
Jason, undeterred by Estrella’s sarcasm, simply held her hand, “Estrella, I really am sorry.”
“No,” Estrella pulled her hand away, “I’m not the one for you, and stop with the sweet talk.”
Then she added, “If I remember correctly, you told me just the other night not to feel pressured, and you would’ve done the same with anyone.”
Jason didn’t let her hand go, holding it firmly, “That has nothing to do with what happened

the other night. Even without that, I needed to say this today.”
He then pitífully placed Estrella’s hand against his cheek. Right now, he was speaking the truth. Apologizing to Estrella and showing his intentions had nothing to do with saving her; it was about the fire from seven years ago. He didn’t know it was not her fault.
Despite the remaining mysteries, Estrella’s fiery attitude had him head over heels in love.
His Estrella was back.
Jason played the sympathy card, but Estrella slapped his face away, “Don’t try that with me.” She demanded the evidence he had about the fire.
“Okay, okay, I’ll give you everything,” Jason agreed.
Estrella, taken aback by his cooperation, said sharply, “Get ready to send it to my email.” With that, she grabbed her purse, too annoyed to stay a second longer, and too frustrated to even look at Jason.
What a mess these years had been.
Estrella was about to leave when Jason reached out to stop her, “Babe, don’t go. We haven’t finished talking.”
But Estrella, ignoring his pleas, walked away without looking back. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
Back at the law firm, everyone tiptoed around her, too afraid to ask about her sour mood, knowing full well her temper could dismantle the place.
During her early days at the firm, she once laid out a rowdy male client, sending him tumbling out the door.
That evening, back at her home, Estrella brooded on the couch, still upset about the morning’s events and Jason’s years of silence about the fire.
Autumn, noticing her mood, asked with concern, “Estrella, what’s up? Why the long face?” Seeing Estrella’s swollen, pale lips, she pressed, “What happened to your mouth? Why is it all swelled up?”
“Nothing, I am just a bit upset.” Estrella muttered.
Only later back at the firm did Estrella realize that Jason had kissed her for nearly an hour, even longer than their argument.
Autumn said. “Then I’ll make you some sweet soup.”
After saying that, Autumn set down the dinosaur tail she was holding and headed to the kitchen.
Meanwhile, little Isaac, clutching his feet, looked up at Estrella, and once Autumn finished talking, he climbed onto Estrella with a beaming smile, cupping her face and cooing, “Mommy.”

At Isaac’s sweet voice, Estrella’s anger melted away, and she opened her arms to embrace him. After teasing and kissing him, Estrella had Isaac sit in her lap while she scratched his short hair. Meanwhile, Isaac held Estrella’s face with his left hand and gently touched Estrella’s lips with his right hand, saying slowly “Mommy, your mouth is sick.’
“Uh-huh,” Estrella agreed, running her fingers through his hair. “Mouths are meant for talking and communicating. If they don’t, they get ‘sick.” Her words were a clear dig at Jason, although he wasn’t there to hear them.
Listening to Estrella, Isaac cupped her face with both hands and planted a smacker right on her lips. The suddenness of Isaac’s move was just so Jason-like.
After his soft little lips had pressed against hers, Isaac tenderly rubbed her mouth and said, “Owie go away.”
Melted by his concern, Estrella’s heart turned to mush as she nuzzled his forehead, “With you here, Mommy will never get sick or hurt.”
At Estrella’s smile, Isaac too burst into a silly grin.
As they were getting all cozy in the living room, Estrella’s phone rang with Drew’s number on the display. She answered, “Just email me the evidence.”
Jason’s voice came through the other end, “This is important. Come down to the hospital, or I can come to you now. It’s better to discuss this in person.”
