30 Days till I Divorce My Husband (Estrella and Jason)

Chapter 242

Staring into Jason’s eyes, Estrella saw how wrapped up he was in the moment. Seizing the opportunity, she bit him playfully and then pushed him away with a raised hand. “Getting a little too comfortable, aren’t we? Jason, that’s harassment. Don’t think I won’t sue you.”

Jason raised his hand and gently touched her slightly swollen lips. “Or you could harass me back,” he said with a shameless grin.

Estrella just stared at him, that grin plastered across his face. After a moment, she said languidly, “Jason, haven’t you been a bit too cheerful these past days? Have you forgotten I cheated on you? That I have a son?” The man was too cocky; she needed to douse him with a reality check.

Right on cue, Jason winced at the reminder. It wasn’t that Isaac wasn’t adorable, but the thought of Estrella with someone else made him green with jealousy. Clearing his throat, he conceded, “I accept it,” and added, “I’ll treat Isaac as my own, and protect him as I would myself.”

Jason had his doubts, but he knew this wasn’t the time to delve into those with Estrella. Right now, his priority was to set the right tone to charm Estrella and win her back.

Estrella couldn’t help but laugh at his naivety. “Treat him as your own? Dream on, Jason. If you want a son, go have one yourself.” With that, she grabbed her purse from the table.

Jason quickly reached out to stop her. “Do you really have to go? Can’t you stay a little longer? I promise I won’t do anything.”

“Let go, Jason, or I’ll scream.”

His promises were empty as far as she was concerned. If she didn’t leave now, she was certain things would escalate between them. After all, neither were saints or particularly concerned with maintaining

image.

With a final warning glance at Jason, Estrella shook off his hand and headed for the d “If you pull any more stunts, you can forget about ever seeing me again.”

Jason muttered under his breath about her lack of gratitude, but he followed her out the

door nonetheless.

“What do you want now?” Estrella snapped as they reached the sidewalk.

With roguish charm, Jason replied, “I want you Will you let me?”

Estrella spun around and kicked him. “You really felt nothing for me,” he gasped, then quickly added, “I’m just walking you out.”

Once they were downstairs, Drew was waiting by the car, ready to take Estrella home. Jason, hands in his pockets, gave Drew a casual nod. “Take her home,” and then softly told Estrella, “Send me a message when you get there.”

In that moment, Jason was the picture of calm and composure, the golden frame of his glasses still perched on his nose, his demeanor still noble, as if the man who had been playfully teasing Estrella in the hospital room wasn’t him.

Estrella didn’t give him another glance as she bent to enter the car.

Watching the car drive away, Jason allowed himself a small, sly smile. He was

determined to win back Estrella, even if it meant risking it all.

But then again, Estrella’s claim that she hadn’t set that fire and that she had no memory of it at all sent Jason back into a contemplative silence. What really happened seven years ago? What about all that damning evidence?

It wasn’t until the black Maybach faded completely from view that Jason went back inside. Jason had wanted to drive Estrella himself, but her patience seemed to have worn thin for one evening. Any further insistence would likely push her over the edge.

He’s dead set on getting her back, but he knew he had to play it smart and not push her too far.

On the drive back, noticing Estrella’s swollen lips, Drew wisely kept quiet, confident that Mr. Jason would eventually win Ms. Estrella back.

The next morning, after breakfast with Isaac at home and discussing Isaac’s early education plans with Autumn, Estrella prepared to head to work. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

After hugging and kissing Isaac goodbye, Estrella was about to go to the garage when she noticed Jason’s Maybach parked outside her house.

Was he here with some crucial clue that he had remembered and sent Drew to report?

With a nod to Autumn, Estrella headed straight for the Maybach.

Drew stepped out to open the car door for her, and there was Jason, as handsome an dignified as ever, even with bandages on his face.

Despite her reservations, Estrella got into the car. The car started, and Jason handed Estrella a stack of documents, pressed her hand into an ink pad, and without any discussion, had her press her fingerprints onto the papers.

Jason flipped through the documents so quickly that Estrella barely had time to grasp th content before her prints were stamped onto them. She caught glimpses of what seeme like shares and assets in the paperwork.

“What’s this? Am I signing my life away?” Estrella teased.

After she had pressed her fingerprints onto the last of the documents, Jason released her hand, took out a pen, and began to sign her name on the papers, mimicking her

handwriting. “Darling, with this move, I’ve handed over my entire fortune to you. I’ll be

depending on you to support me,” he said with a cheeky smile.

The documents Estrella just stamped weren’t just for Jason’s properties and assets, but also included all his shares, funds, stocks, and other related documents for transfer and

acceptance.

Now truly left with nothing but himself, Jason had made himself completely vulnerable to

her.

Estrella looked at Jason with mock disdain. “You can go ahead and play your games; it’s no skin off my back. But fair warning, Jason, once it’s in my pocket, it’s not coming out. Don’t expect a dime back.”

Estrella had expected some revelation about the fire, but Jason had surprised her with this early morning stunt instead.

There was a silence that stretched on until all the paperwork for Estrella was signed and sealed. Jason slid the documents into a briefcase with a flourish and said, “Babe, I’ve really gone the extra mile this time. I promise you, no more antics to tick you off.”

Estrella let out a bemused chuckle. “You’re maxed out on credit with me.”

Sensing that she was still holding a grudge, Jason rubbed his temples for a moment before leaning his head on her shoulder in a playful display of affection. “I’ve been up all night, wracking my brain on how to get back in your good graces, and how to make you smile. I’ve got a headache just thinking about it.”

Estrella just gave him a look. When it came to shamelessness, Jason had no competition. Drew, gripping the steering wheel with both hands, caught glimpses of the pair’s interaction through the rearview mirror. Watching Jason’s puppy-dog antics with Estrella was almost too much. Drew had to stifle his laughter so hard he’s afraid he would burst.

Drew was pretty sure he was the only one with the composure to handle this scene. If it had been Lee driving, the man would have been cracking up for sure.

Estrella pushed Jason’s head gently away from her shoulder and said, “This is what you bring up first thing in the morning?”

Just as she spoke, they were passing by a high school entrance, and the road ahead wa a bit congested. Vendors lined the street, peddling breakfast items, and right next to thei car, there was a stall selling fresh pancakes.

Drew usually didn’t take this route, but today there had been a minor pile-up on their usual way back, so he had detoured.

Jason turned to Estrella and said earnestly, “Yeah. I rushed over to see you and skipped breakfast. Honey, would you grab me a pancake from that stand?”

The moment Jason finished his sentence, Drew couldn’t hold back his laughter any
