A Lifetime With You Chapter 121

Chapter 121

These two days, she had been looking at the recruitments of other companies. For someone who had amnesia like her that couldn’t even write a decent resume, all the resumes she sent out were in vain.

Moreover, she was a single mother. It was difficult for her to find a job in which she could get off work early and had the weekend off. “Radbury Group has tens of thousands of employees, and I’m just applying as a clerk. How could I possibly attract the attention of the CEO? I think I won’t even see him once in a year!” Ava thought about this and finally decided to try for the job interview again. Not to mention she had no working experience and she would most probably fail the second interview.

When Ava walked into the Radbury Group’s building, she knew that there were very capable people in the interview here today. The best of the best were being selected from thousands of applicants who made it through the first round.

Although she didn’t know how she managed to compete amongst the group of top students from well- known universities, she assumed she was selected as a form of tokenism. “Oh gosh, it is truly a big company, even a position of a clerk is competitive!” Alady exclaimed while standing next to her in the waiting line for the interview. Ava glanced at the lady, and it was the same person that she met in the interview hall the other day.

“Luella Cox, is that you?” She remembered her name.

Luella turned her head and recognized her at once, “It’s the beautiful lady from the other day! What a coincidence, are we applying to work in the same department?” She nodded and she caught a glimpse of Luella’s resume, and she was shocked to find out that Luella graduated from one of the top 3 renowned universities. It was just a basic clerk position, did it require such a high education qualification? Luella scratched her head embarrassedly, “I’ve just graduated this year and I don’t have any working experience. My dad said that there’s a high chance of promotion in a big company, so I

must make it past the second interview!” Looking at her self-satisfied look, Ava couldn’t help but laugh. She was just a few years older than Luella but she did not remember how she was when she had just graduated from university. “Oh, it’s my turn. I’m going in for the interview!” Luella quickly cheered for herself when she heard her name being called.

Ava wished her luck as well.

Not long after Luella entered, she heard some people clamored outside and everyone was looking in the same direction, unknowingly to what happened. She tiptoed to try to peek, but there were too many people around. The man standing next to her was 1.9 meters tall, so she couldn’t see anything.

She heard someone in the crowd whispered, “How could it be? Why is he here?”

Everyone became silent all of a sudden, as if they had a special tacit. Luella came out after ten minutes, and her face was as pale as a sheet. Ava quickly held her and asked, “How was it?” Luella seemed to be in great shock and she didn’t answer Ava for some time. Ava had already thought that she would most definitely fail this interview. Even a top student from a famous university like Luella had failed in applying for the job as a clerk in the administrative department. She would most likely fail miserably then. She couldn’t help but sigh when she thought about it.

Luella held her hand and said, “Guess who I just met in there?”

“Uh, who is it?”

Luella’s lips were trembling as the person who was in the interviewing panel made her scared out of her wits.

She still couldn’t say the person’s name after a long while. At this moment, Ava’s name was being called. She quickly let go of Luella’s hand and walked into the interview hall without any delay. As she was nervous, she didn’t dare to look up when she entered and she bowed deeply to the interviewers. “Hello, I am Ava Nagel. The position that I applied for is the clerk of the Administration Department.” The interviewer who sat on the far right was around during the first interview. Since he had only been in the company for a few years, he didn’t recognize Ava, who was the former wife of the CEO. He flipped Ava’s resume and asked in surprise, “You graduated from Colombas University in Finance. You were even an executive manager of an advertising company, why did you apply for the clerk position?”

Ava was stunned since she didn’t remember that she wrote all these in her resume. She didn’t even remember which university that she graduated from. The interviewer must have taken the wrong resume. As she was looking up, and about to explain herself, she froze on the spot. The person sitting in the middle of the interviewers was the company’s CEO, Damien Radbury! Why was he here? Why was the CEO in the interview of grassroots workers? Ava was so surprised that she couldn’t say a word after a long time. The interviewer called her name once again. She came back to her senses, but her eyes were fixed on Damien. However, Damien was expressionless, and he didn’t even raise his head to look at her.

He put down the folder in his hands and told the interviewer next to him, “Miss Nagel graduated from the same university as me, we are classmates.” Even though a few of the interviewers didn’t know who Ava was, since the CEO had spoken, they understood his meaning without explanations. Everyone couldn’t understand why the CEO came to the grassroots interview, but from the

beginning of the interview session until now, this was the only sentence he had said and he even answered on behalf of the candidate. “Sir, Miss Nagel applied for the clerk position. Isn’t that somewhat inappropriate?” The interviewer asked cautiously. His eyes inadvertently and glanced at Ava’s face as he replied faintly, “I think it’s fine.”

For a moment, everyone didn’t understand what he meant. If Miss Nagel was a friend of the CEO, she could be directly assigned as a senior executive. But if she wasn’t, why would he speak on behalf of her? Ava stood there for a long time. She was so embarrassed that she wanted to get out as soon as possible. What would Damien think of her coming to this interview? Would he think that she applied for the job on purpose? But only God could tell that she just really wanted a job! Later on, when the interviewer continued to ask her a few questions, she was so blurred and puzzled until she didn’t remember their conversation.

She just realized that her palms were covered with sweat when she walked out of the interview

room.

“Did you see him? The CEO was there!” Luella said to her in a soft but excited voice. She nodded blankly. Luella smiled and said, “Miss Nagel, you’re just like me, you feel your legs giving out, your heart weak, and that you are about to collapse when you see the CEO, right?” Ava nodded again, as she felt exactly the way that Luella described at this moment. She asked, “Luella, you feel like that too?” “Everyone feels the same! Who wouldn’t faint when they see a handsome man as the CEO?”
