CHAPTER 165
Chapter 165
BOOK 2: CHAPTER 35
Harriette’s POV
During dinner, I’d reluctantly accepted to be a student under Luna Angela. The following afternoon, I tried not to show up but Commander Mika being Commander Mika kicked open my door and just walked right in.
“Harriette’s, it’s time,” as though she’d been waiting all her life for the moment. She had an evil smile on her face.
Reluctantly, I groaned and followed her. I didn’t know how to say no to a person in power, if I did, I would’ve said no to Commander Mika a long time ago.
We both walked into the painting room at the same time. A frown on my face, a smile on hers. She has so much positive energy, it was unbelievable.
“Hi, Harriette,” Luna Angela had a bright smile on her face.
“Wow! You both have a similar smile. I love seeing this one smile once in a while,” Commander Mika pointed at me. “It makes my day brighter,”
No, you don’t! I almost said. Ever since I stepped into this pack, Commander Mika had forced herself into my life and refused to leave me alone. Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Thank you, Commander Mika,” Luna Angela cheerfully answered.
How could someone as cheerful as her be mated to a ferocious man like Alpha Darius?
“I heard you trained with your… my husband this morning,” she asked.
“Yeah, I did and I almost lost my sanity,”
I answered dryly.
She laughed. “It’s always like that,”
I frowned. How could he always be like that? I asked myself when I remembered what happened this morning.
After running laps and extra laps because Commander Mika felt extra energetic this morning around the pack during training, we stopped at the outdoor training ground and got paired.
I was paired with a guy who was almost three times my size. The rules were dictated. Don’t get out of line, don’t hurt your partner, and don’t shift into your wolves.
“Don’t play with your claws,” I added that one because I’d seen it play out a few times and Commander Mika approved with a
wink.
When the opponent realizes they can’t throw me down, they try to claw my intestines out.
“Tackle your partner with their backs to the ground and you win,”
Commander Mika blew her whistle after that and the face–off started. It was easier for me to tackle the guy to the ground because he was bigger and I could easily get in between his legs.
I was the first to be done.
“You’re a beast, Harriette,”
Mika complimented. I looked away. Still, I didn’t do too well with compliments.
“Don’t assume so quickly, Commander Mika,” Alpha Darius suddenly interrupted. “Why don’t we see if she can tackle me to the ground?” He added, smiling at me.
I looked to Commander Mika for her to say no. Alpha Rowan was with Alpha Darius and I was surprised he only turned around and walked away.

11:01 AM O
He didn’t say anything or at least, look at me. That was cold!
“I don’t think I…” I started talking to myself but Commander Mika interrupted me.
“Go ahead but please, don’t hurt her, Alpha Darius,”
“I would rather die than do such a thing,” He answered so seriously. That was the first thing that weakened my spirit.
I was forced to go back into the circle with Alpha Darius. Everyone has left their partners and focused on us now. I was about to have a faceoff with a powerful Alpha. Was I writing my death will in this sand?
“So, show me what you’ve got, Harriette,” he waved me towards him.
I smirked. I knew better. He was trying to make me into his prey but I wouldn’t allow that.
“Why don’t you show me what you’ve got instead, Alpha Darius?”
Everyone whistled and yelled excitedly around us.
“If you say so, Princess,”
He charged towards me and within the blink of an eye, I was on the ground. Everyone laughed at me like I was a clown.
That was the second thing that broke my spirit.
The next thing I knew was that I stood up and charged towards him angrily. I tried throwing a punch but he blocked it by holding my hand. I threw another one and he did the same. For the next ten minutes, I kept trying to hit him.
“Harriette! Control your anger,” he yelled.
I was breathing heavily.
“You’re hurting yourself,” If he hadn’t said it, things would’ve changed for the worse. I was so close to bringing out my dagger and hurting him for real.
I’d lost my rational thinking. I gritted my teeth as I suddenly hated myself for thinking of hurting him.
Alpha Mason suddenly came in between us. He touched my arm and I let go of Alpha Darius.
“Don’t worry, Harriette. Proper training and you’ll beat his proud ass next time,”
He assured me.
Alpha Mason kind of brought peace along with him. I nodded and moved back from Alpha Darius.
“Consider yourself lucky today, my brother,”
Alpha Darius laughed at his brother’s words before he turned to me again.
“What pissed you off?” He asked worriedly.
I shrugged, picked up my top, and walked out of there.
I didn’t stop for nothing or anyone.
“Come on, Harriette. Learn from the art queen herself,” Commander Mika called my name, pulling me out of my deep thoughts.
I sat behind the empty canvas and listened to Luna Angela. She was such an amazing person. I could listen to her talk all day.
“Why don’t you give it a try?” She urged me and I nodded.
“Okay,”
I picked up a brush but she told me to use another one. Her finger touched my skin and I felt at peace all of a sudden.
“How did you and Alpha Darius meet?” I asked her.
“Why are you curious about that?” She asked.
“You both are the complete opposite. He gets on my nerves and you somehow calm my nerves,”
She stared at me with tears filling her eyes but she quickly smiled.
“Yeah, we are. I’ve heard that a lot too. We met years ago. I had a big crush on him before I found out he was my mate. We moved in together despite everyone telling me not to and not long after that I found out I was pregnant with my first child, Reina,”
My brush stopped at a stroke at the mention of the name. I quickly recovered and nodded.
“So, happily ever after that?” I asked.
She laughed. “No, Harriette. There was a whole lot of drama after that,”
“How do you know when you find your mate?”
I asked.
She went silent. When I saw that she didn’t respond, I looked up to see her and Commander Mika sharing a look. “What?”
“Nothing. Why don’t we focus on this class instead of talking about mates?” Commander Mika suggested.
“Why? Is it a touchy subject for you?”
I asked and I paused.
That was a slip of the tongue. I’ve heard rumors regarding Commander Mika around the pack about her Mate. Some said she killed him. Others said she rejected him. Some even went as far as saying she ate him alive.
“Yes, Harriette. It’s a touchy subject for both you and me,”
She answered.
I half smiled. “Why is it a touchy subject for me?” I asked.
“Because you’ve successfully silenced your wolf and if you manage to make a connection with your wolf, you will erase your memory and probably forget all of us this time,” Commander Mika replied in one breath.
“People who make connections with their wolves are deformed wolves,”
a
I answered.
Both of them snapped their gazes at me.
“Said who?” Luna Angela asked. She almost screamed.
I shook my head. There was no way I could tell them that.
“Just something I heard in passing,”
Luna Angela held my hand gently, making me drop the brush. “Listen to me carefully, Harriette. Every werewolf is blessed with a connection to their true nature which is their inner wolf. They comfort them, they help them and they protect them. That is why, when we’re in our human forms, we still have that strength, powerful mind, and ability we use day to day,”
All of a sudden, something snapped inside of me. I was no longer where we were presently.
I was somewhere else.
“Repeat after me, My name is Ilarriette and I belong to nobody,”
