Chapter 66: Alice is gone
Chapter 66: Alice is gone
The Parker’s mansion was lit up by colorful fluorescent lights, accompanied with beautiful flowers and balloons.
In the living room, the couches were gone and it was a free space for everyone. There were about eight cocktail tables covered in white fabrics present. In the middle of these tables were small, pretty rose flower vases.
These tables were arranged not too far from each other so that there could be enough space for about five dining tables, which could accommodate at most five guests.
In front of the hung flat Tv screen was a huge and gorgeously designed five-tier birthday cake.
A solemn music was playing in the background, and guests were beginning to arrive.
Penelope arrived at the mansion fully dressed and her eyes widened at the side of the interior beauty of the living room.
“Oh God. Who could have thought that your living room would be this spacious?” Penelope said to James, who was dressed in a red Tuxedo.
His hair was rearranged in a more stylish way, making him look more handsome.
“The couches took so much space. Welcome, Mrs. Penelope. The ladies are preparing in the room. I need to start attending to the guests.”
Penelope bounced her head happily and headed up the stairs to the room where Elena and Amelia were seated. She got into the room and met the makeup artists busy on Elena’s and Amelia’s faces.
“Hey babies!” Penelope greeted in excitement, and the sisters exchanged looks. They looked at Penelope and smiled.
“Welcome back, Mom. I thought you weren’t going to attend.” Elena uttered.
“What? Why would I? I have always dreamt of this day. I would be a fool not to attend.” She said and walked to the other side where Amelia was.
“Hi, Mrs. Penelope.” Amelia uttered, and Penelope heaved a loud sigh and placed her hand on Amelia’s shoulders.
“Mrs. Penelope? When will you start calling me mother? You keep making me feel like I’m a stranger.”
“I’m sorry, Mrs. Penelope, but I’m not used to that yet. I believe with time, I’d get used to it. But for now, please bear with me.”
“Haaa… it’s fine, okay? I need to apologize to you, Amelia. I let my anger take the best of me. I shouldn’t have said those harsh things to you. You did the right thing, and I’m so sorry.”
Amelia smiled and shook her head. “I understand how you felt that day. I can’t be angry because of that. I totally understand you, Ma’am.”
“So we are good now?” She inquired in excitement, and Amelia bounced her head.
“Yes, we are. I thought we would never get to talk again since you didn’t reach out to me until today.”
“Well, let me answer that for her. She was too scared to face you, and that is why she kept sending me here to plan this party and see how you are doing. She isn’t as brave as you think she is.” Elena butted in, and Amelia chuckled.
“That is quite cute.” She stated.
“Can I ask for a favor from you, Amelia?”
“What?” Amelia asked, looking at Penelope.
“Can you please find time to go and check on Hopper? I went to visit him and he said he would love to see you sometime. Freddie said the same thing. Can you please find time to see them?”
Amelia exhaled and bobbed. “I would try to find time to see them. Don’t worry, Mrs. Penelope.”
“Thank you! So…” she sprang to her feet and clapped her hands. “I’ll step outside and attend to the guests with James. He shouldn’t be doing that alone.”
“Alright, Mom.” Elena responded and looked at her until she was out of the room.
“Amelia.” Elena called and she turned to look at her.
“Yes?”
“Are you sure you have forgiven Mom? I mean, I know what she said and did was outrageous, but please try to understand her.”
“I understand her, Elena. And you don’t have to worry, we are fine now. I promise.”
“Thank you so much.” Elena stretched her hand and touched Amelia’s thighs, while they smiled at each other.

“Mr. And Mrs. Parker, welcome.” Penelope said to Charles and Helen as they walked into the house.
“Wow! This place looks amazing! Who the hell decorated this?!” Helen exclaimed, looking around in awe.
“All thanks to James. He provided the designers I believe.”
“Wow! That’s really…”
“Mom, Dad! You’re here!” James called, opening his arms and embracing them.
“You look gorgeous, son! Where are the celebrants?”
“Amelia and Elena will join us as soon as they are done, Mom. Come and have a seat.”
After leading them to the dining table, more people began to arrive.
Ava walked in with her boyfriend, Gordon, Fred walked in alone, and James ignored him, Patricia followed behind him, and other guests also followed suit.
They all began to hang around, waiting for the celebrants to show up in front of them. James was about to call the celebrants out when Hudson walked into the house.
Immediately James saw him, he felt his rage arise inside of him. He began to storm to where he was, but before he could get there, Ava stopped him.
“James, stop!” She whispered.
“What the f**k is he doing here?!” He said within gritted teeth.
“He is with me, okay? He came here to apologize to Amelia. Don’t create a scene on a day like this James.”
James clenched his jaw and looked up to see Hudson, smirking. “He better not try anything stupid! Talk some sense into his skull!”
Ava bounced her head and turned to face Hudson. “Can you please stop smirking like a fool? You promised me not to cause any troubles.”
“Attention everyone! I welcome everyone present here tonight, and I want to say a big thank you for honoring this invite. Now, it’s time to welcome the celebrants. They have a speech for us. Let’s welcome Amelia and Elena!”
Everyone began to clap and they all looked at the stairs.
“Ma’am Alba, please watch over Alice until I’m back. I would have to step out now.” Amelia said and planted a kiss on Alice’s soft cheeks. Alice responded with a smile which made Amelia’s heart melt.
She blew her a kiss and headed out of the room with Elena.
Amelia and Elena held hands and walked down the stairs, looking very gorgeous. They both wore elegant ball gowns, they had the same design but they were of different colors.
Amelia’s gown was her best color, blue, while Elena’s was white. They wore the same design and brand of heels, but were also of different colors.
Elena dyed her hair back to its initial color, black, and that was when their resemblances were visible.
“Hold on. I can’t even tell them apart!” Ava exclaimed in shock.
“That’s a big lie. Amelia is more beautiful. It’s pretty obvious. Why are you so hypocritical?” Hudson responded coldly, and Ava rolled her eyes.
“Oh, shut up. They are both very beautiful. Don’t tell me you are still obsessed with Amelia. When will you ever learn?”
“Please, don’t start lecturing me, okay? I have heard enough. I’m just here to have fun and thank Amelia.” He answered with another evil smirk. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
“Good day everyone. Thank you all for coming today. I’m happy and very honored. I don’t have much to say, I would leave most of the talk to my sister, Elena.”
“What? Sister? Amelia has a sister? Who is she? When did all these happen?” The guests murmured in awe.
“I’m very happy because I am here today with the most important people in my life. My sister, my husband, my in-laws…”
“And your father?!” A strange woman asked from the congregation, and everyone went silent.
Amelia gulped hard and looked at Elena. Elena took the microphone from Amelia and spoke.
“I believe everyone here is here to celebrate us. I expect us to respect ourselves. If you are here to pry, you can please use the door.”
“Wow.” The congregation exclaimed in shock. Elena smiled hypocritically and dropped the microphone.
“Please enjoy the party. Thank you.” Amelia added and they both walked into the congregation. The volume of the music that played in the background increased, and the people began to chat again.
“Amelia’s sister is so rude. Why would you talk like that? We are guests. I wouldn’t have come if it wasn’t for Penelope. Are children aren’t trained at all.” A woman whispered to her friend as Elena passed by them.
“Elena, was that necessary?” Amelia asked, and she scoffed.
“Didn’t you see what she was trying to do there? They aren’t here to celebrate with us. They are here to find answers to their questions, and that isn’t going to happen.”
“But they will picture you as the bad person.”
“I am a bad person. I have always been a bad person. That isn’t a new title.” She responded with a laugh. Amelia chuckled and shook her head.
She saw Hudson staring at her from afar. She wanted to talk to James about him when all of a sudden, she heard Ma’am Alba scream.
“Ma’am Amelia!!! Alice is gone!”
