A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 58 Brighter Than the Sunlight

Mia had signed a contract with Sugar Media, and it was still under the studio’s name. If she were to leave now, she would be handing over leverage to Shannon.

She didn’t want any trouble.

“Mr. Stuart, we agreed that I would send it over by today. It’s only noon,” Ranita paused and glanced at Holly before continuing with a smirk on her lips, “I won’t delay too long at Sugar Media.”

Without waiting for Brendon to respond, Ranita hung up the phone.

“Holly, if you lay a hand on me, I’ll fight back. But if you delay Brendon’s work, he won’t go easy on you!”

Holly was so angry that her eyes turned red as she pointed her trembling finger at Ranita and said through gritted teeth, “How dare you use my brother against me?”

Ranita looked calmly at Holly and tilted her head slightly as she spoke, “Do you dare not listen?”

Holly was most afraid of Brendon.

“You… you…” Holly couldn’t even speak properly from anger. She wanted to take action but also feared the consequences of delaying Brendon’s work.

“If your hands are shaking and your speech is unclear then I suggest going to the hospital!” Ranita couldn’t be bothered with Holly anymore.

As Ranita stormed out of the room, she could hear stomping feet and low hysterical muttering from inside – probably cursing her!

But Ranita acted like she didn’t hear anything as she quickly returned to her own post.

“Miss Bowman! You finally came back!” Arthur greeted her warmly when he saw her. “I don’t know how to talk without you here!”

Arthur brought his assistant who was also Italian but had a heavy accent in English making communication difficult! Arthur actually liked Ranita for a reason – when he got excited, his speech became very fast which made it hard for him in situations where he needed an accurate translator most of all times!

Ranita said she only knew a little Italian, but that was just being modest.

“Mr. Semeraro, if you have any questions, I will honestly communicate with the studio,” Ranita came back and Arthur visibly brightened up, starting to chatter away.

Ranita had stayed up until lunchtime because of that lemon candy.

They were supposed to continue in the afternoon, but Arthur suddenly had something he needed to take care of and had to reschedule their work for tomorrow. Shannon was quite happy about it, but Ranita was a bit sad. She thought she would be done after staying up for so long, but now there was still tomorrow…

Ranita injured her ankle and couldn’t drive over here. She braved the sun and went out to hail a cab when a car stopped right in front of her as soon as she got outside.

The window rolled down revealing a sharp brow bone.

The noonday sun shone on the man’s dark eyes making them even more striking against his chiseled features.

Ranita’s heart raced with excitement.

In an instant, Ranita remembered when she first saw Brendon under this same kind of sunlight walking through dappled shadows cast by trees. He had just transformed from boyhood into manhood then; he shone brighter than that scorching sun ever could.

Her soul was hooked immediately; her gaze followed him until his handsome white figure disappeared from sight without realizing it herself.

As they say in books: everyone loves someone and is loved by someone else too.

Ranita thought she had found the person whom she wanted to love.

This love came unexpectedly yet left an indelible mark on her heart; Ranita knew that she will never forget it for the rest of her life.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
