A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 879: Setting a Trap

“This is much more convenient than arranging individual blind dates!” Chole said with a look of concern for Ranita.

“Mom, what do you think?”

Alexia thought about it and found it made a lot of sense.

“Chole, you’re right! Your father’s health has improved significantly, so we should celebrate. I’ll invite some promising young men over, and your sister can meet them!”

Alexia clapped her hands, increasingly convinced that this was a great idea.

“I’ll get someone to start preparing right away!” Alexia said happily as she ran off to tell Benedict.

As soon as Alexia left, Chole looked at Ranita with ill intentions. “A matchmaking event, do you like it?”

Ranita gripped her chopsticks, her eyes cold as she stared at Chole. “Chole, what exactly are you trying to do?”

“I no longer interfere with Steland Monolith Technology. I won’t threaten your position!” Ranita paused and added, “I don’t want anything from the Bowman family either. I won’t take a single thing that belongs to you.”

Chole smiled faintly, but the disdain on her face was evident.

“Haha, do you think you can just erase the fifteen years you occupied so easily?”This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Ranita, unless you never come back in this lifetime, my hatred for you will never diminish.”

Chole’s expression calmed down, and she smiled. “Ranita, as for the matchmaking event, I’m doing it for your own good!”

“I meant every word I said!”

Chole walked away happily, leaving Ranita feeling extremely uncomfortable. Ayaan came over and held her hand. “Mommy, are you okay?”

“Mommy is fine. You should eat your breakfast!”

“Really?” Ayaan hugged Ranita softly. “Mommy, I want to go back to Slovenia.”

Ayaan didn’t like it here.

Although his grandfather and grandmother were nice, his aunt was not!

And Mommy seemed unhappy too.

“Mommy, I want to go back to our home.” Ayaan’s eyes turned red as he spoke. Though young, he was very sensitive to adult emotions.

Ranita patted his head. “Ayaan, once we finish dealing with things here, Mommy will take you back, okay?”

Ayaan nodded and obediently held Ranita’s hand. “Mommy, then please don’t be unhappy.”

Seeing her son being so well-behaved lifted Ranita’s spirits. She pulled Ayaan onto her lap and pinched his cheeks.

“Mommy is happy every day with you by my side!”

“Really?” Ayaan immediately brightened up. “Am I Mommy’s little bundle of joy?”

“Yes! You are Mommy’s little bundle of joy!” Ranita reassured Ayaan.

The little boy instantly became full of energy.

But while Ranita was busy, Ayaan secretly hid and used his smartwatch to call Brendon.

“Daddy…” Ayaan called softly, melting Brendon’s heart instantly.

He used to find children annoying.

Now Brendon couldn’t cherish Ayaan enough.

“Ayaan, what’s wrong?” Brendon had left early for a meeting at a branch office. “Do you miss Daddy?”

Brendon hadn’t seen his son in many days and missed him terribly. “Daddy isn’t busy today; shall I come pick you up?”

“Daddy… Mommy is unhappy.” Ayaan immediately complained to Brendon, not hearing his last words.

Brendon frowned as he listened to Ayaan continue. “Daddy, the bad aunt made Mommy upset!”

Ayaan was young and didn’t know how to explain everything he had heard, so he anxiously hummed. “She’s bad! And… she said she wants to arrange a matchmaking event for Mommy…”
