Chapter 457 The Thirty-carat Diamond Necklace
Chapter 457 The Thirty-carat Diamond Necklace
"I don't mind being Charles's mistress as long as I can win his heart."
Leo was heartbroken the moment she said that. Sophia was his girlfriend when they were still students
in university. He had no idea how she had changed from a pure and lovely lady to a crazy and
shameless woman. She had become this immoral and brash that she had the audacity to say that she
was willing to be a mistress of a married man.
Perhaps, she would finally give up on Charles after she would have a try to pursue him, or perhaps she
would come back to him after her entertainment career was destroyed. These thoughts ran through
Leo's mind.
If she were to become an ordinary person again, she might not have any ambitious goals anymore. By
then, they might be able to be together once again.
Leo felt better at the thought of this. He then said, "Okay. I will give it to you after we arrive at the hotel
there."
Sophia nodded. She took a last drag on her cigarette before throwing the butt out of the car window.
After that, she leaned against the window to have a rest. She was feeling a bit sleepy.
While looking at Sophia's attractive sleeping face, Leo felt very much in agony. Today, he might have to
let the woman he loved sleep with another man.
He felt greatly distressed. It was as if his heart had been pierced by thousands of arrows.
After they had arrived at the hotel, Sophia couldn't wait to asked Leo for the aphrodisiac.
"Where's the drug? Give it to me now."
Leo gritted his teeth and said, "Why are you in such a rush?"
"What do you mean by that? Give it to me right now, " said Sophia.
Then, Leo turned around, took a small bottle of drug from his luggage, and handed it to Sophia. "This
drug is very powerful. You shouldn't use too much at a time. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to bear
the effect."
"I plan to let Charles take this drug. I won't take it, so what do you mean by I won't be able to bear the
effect?"
Leo was stunned by her words. He didn't expect that Sophia would ask him such question.
When a man, who would take this drug in large quantities, had sex with a woman, that woman would
surely suffer pain.
But before Leo explained it to her, Sophia realized what he had meant given to the fact that she was
holding a bottle of aphrodisiac. She blushed and cast a glance at him, without saying anything.
"What time will the jewelry auction start?" Sophia immediately changed the topic.
"It will start at 8:00 PM tonight, but the cocktail party will start at 6:00 PM. The call time is at 5:30 PM
for the rehearsal. You have to check if the sound equipment is working all right."
"Okay, I see. Ask the make-up artist to help me put on make-up at 3:00 PM. I'm feeling a bit tired, and I
want to sleep for a while before that." Sophia waved her hand and lay down on the bed.
Leo shook his head and helped her unfold the quilt quickly. After he tucked Sophia in, he left the room.
He would come by with the make-up artist at 3:00 PM to wake her up and help her prepare for the
event.
Sophia was sleeping while Charles was busy with his work. Someone brought him some of the pieces
which would be sold at the auction. There were three items that he found stunning among all of them.
One of them was a thirty-carat diamond necklace. It was called Lin-Cha. It was a lovely and special
work of art. The name had 'Lin' and 'Cha' in it, and right then and there Charles knew that it was a
brilliant piece. Coincidentally, 'Lin' happened to be the first three letters of the name Linda, while 'Cha'
was the first three letters of the name Charles. Charles really wanted to buy it and give it to Linda as
the wedding gift. He also knew that it was not easy to be a new mother, and so he was grateful to her.
He joined the auction just to get that diamond necklace. Otherwise, he would never attend such a
boring auction. He had made up his mind to try his best to get the necklace which would mean a lot to
them as a couple.
He wanted to personally acquire it, no matter what it took, and give it to Linda.
It was not easy to be pregnant with twins for almost a year and she totally deserved the necklace!
Before the auction, while dealing with the company's affairs, Charles asked Paul, "Oh right. Have you
figured out where Vincent is? We have been looking for him for a long time."
Paul nodded and replied, "I have found some clues, and he seems to be in touch with Lisa."
Charles felt confused, so he continued asking, "What does he have to do with Lisa? And how about
Lisa? Do you know her whereabouts?"
"Yes. We found out that someone pretended to be Lady Linda and went to the jail to visit May, so we
followed up on this lead and continued investigating her. Then, we found out that Lisa is living at the
Huo clan's house."
Now, Charles had no intentions to punish Lisa because he didn't want Linda to bother with this matter
during her pregnancy. After Linda would give birth to their children, Charles would go to the Huo clan's
house and take Lisa away, especially since she had the same face as Linda's now.
Charles didn't believe that Robert had been keeping Lisa by his side just because he liked her.
Perhaps, he was willing to stay with Lisa only because she looked like Linda. Charles had no idea if
Robert knew that the woman who was staying with him was not the real Linda at all. Anyway, Charles
decided to ask his men to take Lisa from the Huo clan and force Lisa to have a cosmetic surgery to
have her face changed back to how she looked like before.
It was inappropriate for Lisa, who had the same face as Linda's, to stay with Robert under this guise.
Did Lisa want Robert to treat her as Linda and fall in love with her?
Charles wouldn't tolerate that. Also, he had no idea what Lisa and Robert had done during their time
together. He wasn't interested in it, but he would never let other men take advantage of a woman with
his wife's face. It disgusted him.
"Lisa has been staying at the Huo clan's house, but she has not taken any actions against Lady Linda.
Our men who monitored her found that she went to your and Lady Linda's wedding, but she didn't enter
the venue. Instead, she went away and looked for May. Through the surveillance video, we also saw
that a mysterious man also met May, but no one knew of his identity because he hid himself from the
surveillance camera. From the video, we could only see a man, wearing black clothes and a cap,
entering and coming out of the jail."
"And then? Did you keep a close watch on this guy?"
"Yes, but we lost him. He disappeared and never showed up again."
"That's why we cannot make sure if he is Vincent and if Vincent is still alive. We don't have any leads
on him."
This was the only information about Vincent, and Charles didn't think about it too much. He then said, Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
"Just put this matter aside for now, and tell me more about Lisa."
"Some time ago, she seemed to have traveled to Maldives along with Robert. They spent three months
there and only came back a couple of days ago."
"I see. You can leave now. Pay close attention to today's auction. No matter how much it costs, we
must get the thirty-carat diamond necklace. I will give it to Linda as a gift."
Paul nodded and said, "Please be at ease, Young Master. Everything is ready, and I have informed the
others to make way for you and not bid for it. I assure you that you will have it at the end of the day and
that you will be very happy the moment you would successfully obtain it. The diamond necklace is
called Lin-Cha, and I think it suits Lady Linda very much."
