Chapter 657
Chapter 657 I Like Someone Like Chloe
Back at the villa, it was unusual to find James and Michael not playing video games. Chloe glanced around and asked, "Isn't William coming today?" "He said he had something to do, so he won't be joining us. We'll have to sort out dinner ourselves."
This news immediately made Chloe feel a bit overwhelmed.
For the past few days, William had been taking care of their meals, and she hadn't had to endure Michael's awful cooking in a while.
Just thinking about the so-called food he used to make made her cringe, she couldn't even call it edible.
"Maybe we should eat out today?" she suggested casually.
"Chloe, didn't you use to cook?"
James asked because he had just found out about it while playing games with Michael.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Apparently, Chloe had once made Beef Bolognese for Michael.
"I feel like having Beef Bolognese. Why don't you make some for me?"
"No way!"
Chloe refused without hesitation.
It had been ages since she last made Beef Bolognese, mostly because Michael never appreciated it when she did.
"I'm a patient. Can you really stand to see me eating bad food?"
James turned to her, his eyes full of pleading.
Chloe thought back to when she first met James in Mythica. The cold, aloof persona he had back then must have been an act.
As James continued to give her that pitiful look, Admas came down from the second floor and threw a pillow from his bed directly at James. "Chloe's pregnant, and you want her to cook for you?"
Admas was clearly annoyed, the pillow landing squarely on James' face.
James didn't dare argue and looked back at Chloe.
"I'll go buy the ingredients," she offered.
James was about to smile when Chloe added, "And you can cook them yourself."
James was speechless.
If he knew how to cook, he wouldn't have asked Chloe to buy the ingredients in the first place.
Chloe grabbed her purse and headed out. The nearest grocery store wasn't too far.
Michael grabbed his coat. "I'll go with you."
He wasn't comfortable letting Chloe go out alone.
Seeing that Michael was finally using his brain, Admas nodded approvingly.
Chloe thought about driving, which would make it easier to carry groceries, so she didn't refuse and left with Michael.
Once they were gone, Admas sat

down on the sofa, leaning on his cane. He turned to James and said, "Don't even think about making a move on Chloe."
James glanced at him. "Chloe's carrying my child, you know."
Admas didn't even flinch, his expression remaining unchanged as he replied calmly, "You really think I don't know that child is Michael's?" James paused, the game controller in his hand stilled for a moment. "You know, but you haven't told your precious grandson?" Admas snorted. "That kid deserves to suffer a bit."
The reason he hadn't said anything
was that he wanted Michael to experience some of the pain he had once caused Chloe. It wasn't that he wanted to sever the ties between Michael and Chloe. FindNovel
Besides, he knew Chloe's character well, and there was no way she would be pregnant with another man's child while still married to Michael.
If Chloe were that kind of person, Admas would never have allowed her to marry into the Shawn family in the first place.
He prided himself on being a good judge of character, and he was rarely wrong.
And he believed James wasn't just interested in Chloe as a friend.
"Even if you tell Michael the child is his, if Chloe doesn't want to remarry him, there's nothing he can do. Instead of telling me to stay away from Chloe, you should be telling your grandson to step up."
Admas huffed and glared at James, already knowing this kid wouldn't be easy to deal with.
"Your dad and I had some history back in the day."
Hearing this, James shot him a look. "My dad's a soldier; he's got history with a lot of people."
He thought, "Is this old man trying to get chummy with me now?"
"So, tell me, what kind of woman do you like? I'll find someone for you, I guarantee you'll be satisfied."
"I like someone like Chloe."
