Alpha King’s Lost Luna

Chapter 298

Chapter 298 Back with old friends CASSANDRA We had disguised ourselves before returning to Wild Crawler.

Heavily armed Wegallan soldiers were patrolling the borders so there was no way that we could slip in undetected unless we were dressed as normal civilians. Asher was too noticeable of a person to just walk into the Pack and I was likely just as recognizable. We didn’t want harm to come to us, especially when we weren’t certain of which side the soldiers worked for.

After we got dressed, we managed to look like normal Pack members.

My stomach was in knots as we prepared to cross the forest but I

managed to hold my own and remain brave on Finnick’s behalf. It was so strange to think about all that time ago when I was going to take my son and flee these woods to get away from Asher and his order to come with him to Anemond. Back then, I'd seen Asher as this terrible villain, and here we were.

He was not the same man I'd feared so much and vowed to escape from.

He was my mate.

Rayden had prepared passes for us quite some time ago, so we had no difficulty entering Wild Crawler. Once we were there, we traveled the streets discreetly. It was a strange thing to be back after being gone for so long. I studied the houses I'd seen for years and thought about how different I had This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

been back then.

Iwas Cassandra Keller, the village healer who didn’t have a wolf.

Now, I wasn’t sure who I was exactly, but I had my wolf and an inner source of magic I wasn’t sure how to wield.

It was all so strange. I still didn’t know if I was Cassandra or Cora, but I pushed the thoughts from my mind. I would decide my identity one day. For now, we had a mission to complete.

We went straight to the Pack House and met with Alpha Gareth.

It was a happy reunion, and after he offered me a hug, he led us into a meeting room. We told him what happened and he blanched at the news of Rayden. He was worried about his

son, so he decided to send a troop of soldiers to the Red Stone Pack just in case anything happened. It was. | wonderful to see that though Gareth was only the Alpha in his son’s absence, he hadn’t lost his touch. He was still the strong and caring leader I had known him to be.

The news that Vlokwell had suffered an inferno of its own hadn't yet spread to Wild Crawler, so Gareth was deeply shocked.

“I’m too old to understand what’s going on in this world, Your Majesty,” he addressed Asher with full respect and courtesy. “A few Packs started to think about being autonomous since your disappearance, which I don’t understand. Since when are werewolves so disloyal and selfish?”

WEA bd “I can understand,” Asher replied with a thoughtful expression. “I vanished.

The Packs need to survive. I don’t blame them. I just wish it hadn’t come to this.” They spoke about that for a while and then shifted the subject to Oliver Moses.

“I've been sending someone to spy on Oliver,” Gareth informed us. “He’s been very quiet these days. Maybe it’s because his son has been seriously ill.

All of the royal healers live in their homes and attend to him day and night. Yet, he still hasn’t woken up.” Asher’s face darkened and when he faced me, there was sadness and alarm in his sterling gray eyes.

He explained to me what happened to

Wy TY OUNUS Silas, but I hadn’t expected the story to be so severe. As Asher told me everything, I could see that he had : been blaming himself and that he felt terrible for Silas’ condition.

I reached out and took his hand in mine, squeezing it lightly.

“What's important is that Silas survived,” I assured him as I stared into my mate’s eyes. “Maybe I could use my magic like Raven taught me and help him.” “Magic?” Gareth repeated back in surprise and he stared at me as if I'd lost my mind.

I grimaced and then turned to face my old friend. “It’s a long story.” # kk Marley was busy in the clinic, so I

didn’t see her when we stepped out of the meeting room and entered the main floor of the Pack House, “I'sent a guard there to tell her you're back,” Gareth assured me. “She should be here soon.” “Are there any updates about Becky in Anemond?” I wondered after I nodded my head at the former Alpha of Wild Crawler. “Is she alright?” “Becky calls every day to see if there’s any news,” Gareth said and then he frowned. “But she hasn’t called yet today.” While waiting for Marley, I decided to call Becky in the clinic, but much to my surprise, my assistant didn’t answer the phone. Instead, the voice on the other line belonged to Dickson, the healer she had told me about.

He seemed restless as he spoke to me and revealed that Becky was missing.

He said she had snuck into the House of Moses yesterday because she was worried about Silas but she hadn’t yet returned. He theorized that something must have happened to her and declared that he’d go there to look for her.

“Calm down,” I urged him gently.

“Becky is clever Dickson, and she knows how to protect herself. If she hasn’t returned, she might have found something, or there's some other explanation we’re not thinking of. I'll get to Anemond as soon as possible and we can figure out a plan from there. For now, stay safe, lock the doors, and keep an eye out for her just in case.” Dickson agreed and once I hung up the

Sr 719 BUNUS phone, I opened the door to see Marley waiting for me in the hallway.

It should have been a nice reunion for us but we were all worried about Becky now.

“You shouldn’t go back to Anemond too soon,” Marley urged me as we sipped at some tea. “Kellers is surely being spied on. You and the Alpha King will get caught the second you step foot into the clinic.” “Idon’t think so,” Jasper spoke up.

“Oliver doesn’t have the energy to care about other things. He's too stressed about his son’s condition. Besides, they wouldn’t expect the Alpha King and Cassandra to return to Anemond right now. If they wear some kind of disguise, there should be no issue.”

Marley’s green eyes shot daggers in Jasper’s direction. “Shut up. You know nothing about danger.” = “I know you’re worried, but I think Jasper is right,” I spoke to my friend gently, and I reached out and took her hand in mine. “Oliver Moses is distracted at this point and I could never leave Becky alone.” Marley’s expression softened and then she let out a soft sigh. “Cassy, you have to promise me you'll be safe.” “I'will,” T'assured her. “I’m stronger now that I have my wolf soul back.” My friend gasped. “What? How?” “A lot of things happened in Yurene,” I said vaguely. “Good and bad. But the good news is I'm much more capable

now.” She sighed after a moment, “Okay. But | you need to tell me everything once this is all sorted out.” kk We decided to leave right after darkness fell.

Finnick agreed to stay with Erika before I even had the chance to ask him, and before we left, we all shared dinner together. Marley and Jasper joined us at the Pack House and Marley told me all about the patients they’d healed. She said most of them were doing better after taking the medicine Becky had created. All of them were getting stronger.

She got sad as she spoke and then said that Becky was supposed to be with us

| to share her happiness about the cured patients. | “Becky will be all right,” I assured her.

“She’s strong and determined.”
