Edda’s Point Of View

I don’t know what’s going on but it seemed familiar to me as I made my way to Riley’s office. I was curious to find out answers to the questions I have prepared in my head to ask my husband. Nothing is wrong right? I pondered.

I cornered into the hallways leading to several offices. I was pretty determined to make Riley speak up today. We have to talk things out together. My heartbeat accelerated at each step that I took towards the office. Everywhere was silent and I couldn’t see any wolf around. Everyone must have left to their homes since the meeting has been postponed by the Beta.

I placed my hand on the door knob but soon withdrew on an impulse. I should calm my wolf down so I won’t end up putting up a fight with my husband.

“Calm down.. wolfie.” I breathed out heavily.

My wolf ears perked suddenly when I heard Theta Jenny’s voice. I stopped myself from turning the knob but I leaned my ear on the door to hear whatever was going on inside the office. I might find out the problem.This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

“Why did you drink so much?” Theta Jenny’s voice was loud enough.

“How is my blood pressure?” Riley asked.

“Your blood pressure is high. I think that might be the reason you passed out. Thank goodness Beta Jones has the spare key into your office.” Theta Jenny answered.

“I didn’t pass out.. after having a bottle of that wine.. I only slept off.” Riley’s voice was rough.

“What are you thinking? You should stop it and go home to have a good rest. Luna Edda must be worried about you.” Theta Jenny said in a concerned tone.

“I can’t go home. And I already told Edda not to come find me.” Riley said.

“I heard Alex found his mate. This is enough reason to be happy. But why didn’t you organize a party for him before he left for college?” Theta Jenny questioned.

Riley didn’t respond. “I am slowly loosing all my senses as a wolf because of too much alcohol.” He cleared his throat after some seconds of silence.

“You should stop now. Tell me what the problem is that’s making you drink so much.” Theta Jenny’s voice was loud.

“Jenny, what am I going to do? I love Alex but he can’t be mated to his mate. It is so wrong. The more I think about it.. I can’t bring myself to face my family… because of what I have done.” Riley stuttered.

What has he done? What is Riley hiding from me? Why can’t Alex end up with his mate?

“Why are you against your son’s mate?” Theta Jenny demanded.

“You don’t know? Come on Jenny, you should know.. my reason.” Riley sniffed as if he was crying.

“What are you talking about?” I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion at Jenny’s words.

“Edda.. this is about her. Do you remember the incident from twenty years ago?” Riley added.

Twenty years ago? I was found by him and bear my first pup. What else could have happened that year which I don’t know.

“Edda doesn’t remember anything about her past. Years has gone by now so you should stop worrying about it.” Theta Jenny said in a low tone.

“No.. no.. I haven’t been able to forget it.” He stopped.

What do they know about my past? I can’t remember anything. I only know that my old pack wasn’t found and nobody showed up to claim me.

“Riley-”

He cuts her off. “I can’t hide the truth from her anymore. I have lived with this guilt long enough. And each time I look at Edda and Alex.. my heart judges me for what I have done.”

I placed my hand on the door knob. I can’t wait anymore because I want to know what Riley has done years ago to make him feel guilty. But I stopped when I heard his voice again.

“Alexander’s mate.. is from black moon pack and she is the alpha’s daughter. Kayden Scott is her father. Her name.. her name.. is Avery.” Riley stammered.

“Wait.. if she is Kayden’s Scott.. daughter.. I mean the same one I.. no we both know..” Theta Jenny paused and soon I heard a gasp. “Impossible! Kayden named his child after his ex mate! And it only means that Avery is also Alexander’s.. step sister!” She reasoned.

What?! My mouth dropped in shock at the revelation. I was confused. What does she mean by Alexander’s mate is his step sister?!

“Incest!” Riley blurted out.

Without thinking I opened the door and bursted into the room. How come they know so much about black moon pack? I couldn’t relate the story in my head.

Riley and Theta Jenny stared at me with wide eyes. They were both shocked to see me.

Riley stood up from the chair immediately. “Edda.”

“Luna.”

They both called me respectively.
