After I knocked down two guys guarding the door, I opened it. “Come on! Faster.”

I got in and threw alphas outside, who had just been knocked out with the gas. It instantly made me cough.

“So it’s true then?” asked the alpha, who regained consciousness.

“Yeah.” Alpha Frye helped him get up.

“Hold on a minute. Why did Grayson just knock you all out?”

They all stared at me until I smelled a gas.

“Let’s get out of here.” Califf hadn’t finished his words, and everyone jumped from the second floor.

Califf, Frye, and Knight already knew what to do. We just jumped on time before the entire building exploded.

We ran back to our vehicles. Dane was with Victor, watching the building burn and crash into rubble.

“Victor, let Dane send you home.”

“I suggest we get you to a safe place,” Dane told Victor.

“Good idea,” Califf agreed as he got into his car. “You guys can’t stay here longer before the cops arrive.

“Let’s get out of here.” I felt Knight’s hand on my back.

“What the hell happened in there?” Kaleb asked.

“Stupid Grayson. Eloh must have got into him.” Knight spat out in anger.

“How did you know where in trouble?”

“Not now, Luka. Get us out of here now.”

We arrived back at the vineyards. They rebuilt the burned Tasting room in just three days while I was in my cocoon. They managed to update the security system and added more barricades and barbed wire around the perimeters.

Knight had been working tirelessly for the past three days while I was being stubborn.

“You did all these in three days?”

“Not me alone. Our people and some guys from our allies.”

Unable to say a word, I just nodded and left.

“Nirvana, wait.” He got to grab me on my wrist.

“I know what I did was dangerous and reckless-”

“We could have been killed, and every alpha in this country, but you acted bravely and risked your life for us. Thank you for being there.”

“I did not do it for them. I did it for you, Califf, and Alpha Frye. The others were just consolation, but one thing I might regret doing is that I exposed myself.”

“They will find out anyway.”

“Yeah.” I nodded as I looked at his hand on my wrist.

He loosened and let my wrist go. “Are you still staying in your room in the pack house?”

“I may save you today, but we’re not there yet.”

“I know.” He smiled.

“Alpha,” I acknowledged him before I left.

When I got back to the pack house, someone hugged me from behind, startling me.

Lying down, I closed my eyes and tried to get a nap.
