"Okay! Hang on a minute, I'll look for it!"

As she quickly walked to the sofa, Alicia tried to recall Frederick's favorite sit spot whenever he would visit at night. Kneeling down, Alicia pushed the sofa and used her hand to feel around for the object. Soon, she found two sheets of paper.

"Yes! It's here! There are two pieces of paper. One has a lot of words on it, and another is handwritten. Is it the agreement with TXT& Su?"

After learning from Chet that other documents had their back-up copies except for the handwritten version, Alicia said,

"I haven't fixed the fax machine. I'll take a few pictures and send them to you! If they don't seem clear enough, then I'll go out and fax them to you."

Hanging up the call, Alicia took a few photos and sent them to Chet. She only felt relieved when Chet replied that he had received them. With her face flushing, she tapped on her lips lightly.

"Oh my, I spoke faster than my brain! How embarrassing!"

Alicia glanced through the note. It appeared to be just a supplementary copy of the amendments to the agreement's terms, which didn't seem like classified information. Upon learning this, Alicia heaved a secret sigh of relief. "Thank goodness!"

While Frederick couldn't seem to be bothered by the fact that Alicia might be privy to his work information, Alicia, on the other hand, seemed jittery. Even she questioned herself why the fear of being in touch with the very foundation of his career.

Patting her forehead, Alicia locked the two agreements inside her drawer. "Like seriously, I've done nothing wrong, so why am I feeling guilty or afraid?"

And she couldn't afford to be on tenterhooks and being worried all the time, or else t would make Frederick very uncomfortable. It was a responsibility she had to bear for choosing a man like him. And though it had not been smooth-sailing all the way, it was still worth it!

Alicia tried to relax by stretching her

arms and legs and did some deep breathing yoga poses. As she gazed out of the window into the deep night and blurry street lights, a tall and steady figure floated in her mind. Her red lips couldn't help but curve upwards slightly.

It was already so late and he was still working? What a workaholic!

As she was thinking about him, her phone suddenly rang again. It shocked her to the point that she almost stumbled. Was there another problem? She got up and quickly checked her phone. The caller was Jeremy!

What was going on?
