Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 436

Chapter 436

Having gone this far, Alicia was reluctant to stop, and by the time she realized it, her feet and body had automatically followed after him. They reached the front of a club one after the other. Alicia grabbed his sleeve before he could enter, pleading softly.

"I won't be so sentimental the next time. I'll think twice. Can you stop being angry?"

"You followed me all this way just to tell me this?"

Glancing at her, Frederick felt upset. In his memory, she had never sought him out except for this time when she had completely pissed him off.

The thought made him glare at her with displeasure.

Nodding, Alicia pursed her lips, inexplicably worried at his tone. "Why does it feel like I was supposed to say something else?"

However, apart from this, there was nothing else she could say!

Just when Alicia was still reflecting on his words, Frederick had already continued to move forward.

What was with his attitude?

It stunned her for a moment. Then, Alicia quickly caught up with him, "Hubby, can we have dinner together tonight?"

"Can we talk about this?"

Rushing to keep up with him, she missed a step and stumbled. A flash of inspiration hit and she let herself fall to the ground.

"Ah!"

Her loud grunt, in which she purposefully raised a few pitches, made Frederick turn back. "What's wrong? Are you hurt?"

Pulling her upright forcefully, Frederick bent down to check on her legs.

Alicia instantly grimaced, "It hurts...."

He still cared about her! The sudden acknowledgement gave Alicia immense courage.

Next, Alicia hugged him when he straightened up.

"Hubby, have some pity for me. Forgive me just this once, and don't be angry with me, okay? I really didn't do anything wrong! And I'll never make the same mistake again."

She smiled coquettishly.

Frederick noticed the change in her eyes, at the same time, he realized she was playing a trick on him.

Promptly, his heart sank, and he pushed her away roughly. "You're not injured? So you lied! Knowing that I care about you, you used this fact to do as you please?"

At that moment, Frederick was furious that he didn't think twice about going to her. She knew exactly and made use of it.

She took a few steps back, staggering suddenly. She groaned in pain when she heard her ankle pop. However, Frederick didn't respond at all.

It didn't matter if it was Jeremy or him, Alicia had never been this obsequious. Her heart felt as if it had been torn apart, tears swirled in her eyes, and the pain made her felt as if she was going to break into a sweat, but she kept silent.

Without saying a word, she turned around slowly and tried her best to steady herself as she walked away, limping.

Her ankle...

Frederick watched as she flagged a taxi. He opened his mouth but did not make any sound. Then, he watched as she disappeared from sight. Clenching his hand into a fist, he couldn't help but curse in annoyance, "D*mn it!"

Turning around, he took out his cell phone again. "Doris, I need you to do something for me!"

She lowered her head when she got in the car, and tears rolled down her cheeks. However heavy they were, she didn't make a single sound.

When the taxi arrived at Lovely Scent, she opened the door. Then, as she looked at the crowd coming and going out of the shop, she closed it again and said, "Take me to Robson Garden!"

When she got out of the car, she

suddenly felt cold. She wanted to call her parents, but the pain of her bruised ankle reminded her that

was not a good time. This

relationship did not seem to be much better than the one before.

Love really was a double-edged sword! It was so sweet, yet so painful!

She was still a little uncomfortable on her feet and moved slowly.

As soon as she arrived at the door, the security guard ran out and said, "Miss Blanchard, you are back. What's wrong? Would you like me to help you in?"

Greeting her enthusiastically, the young man subconsciously reached out.

At almost the same time, Alicia waved his hand away. "No, thank you! It's alright. I just tripped when I was walking! I can manage on my own, thank you...."

Right now, with her legs being so unsteady, she didn't want to have any contact with anyone. She just wanted to be alone and settle down.

The security guard did not persist. No sooner had Alicia taken a few steps, Doris rushed out with a file in her hand.

"Miss Blanchard, what a coincidence! What's happened to you?"

Stepping forward, Doris took hold of her.

Immediately, Alicia was surprised. "Doris?" Why was she here?

"My friend is buying a house, so I came house hunting with her! We've just finished and were about to leave! Let me help you home."

As she spoke, Doris helped her into the elevator. Before Alicia could respond, she pressed the button for the 17th floor. Unconsciously, Alicia glanced at her and thought,

'As a secretary, she really knew it all!"

After that, Doris helped her into the bedroom, found some ointment, and was going to apply it on her ankle. Feeling self-conscious, Alicia quickly took it and shied away.

"Thank you, Doris. I can manage. There is hot water in the thermos, so please make yourself at home!"

After that, Doris turned around and

went to get two glasses of water. When she came back, she looked Alicia's ankle and said, "Miss Blanchard, is it alright? Do you want to go to the hospital? It seems a

little swollen!"

"No, it's just a sprain. I should be fine tomorrow! Thank you so much for your time and help."

It had been so much easier with her

help. Alicia tested her ankle and breathed a sigh of relief. "High heels. They just have to make walking harder. At least the injury doesn't look too bad!"

"You haven't eaten yet, have you? I'll order take-out for you!"

"There's really no need!"

Before Alicia could react, Doris had efficiently organized everything. In less than ten minutes, the take-out was delivered, and Doris helped serve it to

her.

"Miss Blanchard, I have to do something urgently and need to go now. Lock the door after me! No need to see me out!"

"What about the money for the food?"

Before she finished speaking, she heard the sound of the door closing. Looking at the exquisite dishes on the table, Alicia felt dazed.

The meal was a pricey one. The secretary had been too kind. She guessed that Doris probably

didn't know she and her employer were...

Thinking of Frederick, the light in Alicia's eyes dimmed again.

As soon as she got out of the building, the secretary quickly picked up the phone and said, "Mr. Clements...."
