Chapter 543
The restaurant's atmosphere was soothing and a plate of crabs was served onto their table shortly. Looking at the delicate crabs with their claws curled around on the plate, Frederick's heart began to ache.
The crabs were so cute...
They reminded him of Ally!
Out of the blue, his vision became inexplicably blurry. It reminded him of Alicia's adorableness; she would be very happy to just wait and buy fresh crabs while they were on sale.
She was a stubborn lady, but she really loved crabs!
In the blink of an eye, the atmosphere around them instantly dropped to zero degrees and Faye felt it too. She glanced at the crabs on the plate while she wondered what Frederick was looking at.
Afraid of ruining the occasion, she didn't dare to ask him. After that, they continuously chatted with each other and neither of them touched the crabs the entire time. Frederick merely gazed at them until the very end. The longer he stared at the crabs, the more he felt how delicate they were...
When they left the hotel, Faye held a huge bouquet of roses in her arms. The smile on her face was unconcealable.
"Mr. Clements, I'll be partaking in an event later and it's located at a hotel not too far from here. It's a fashion event and I'm attending it because the host has invited me personally. Would you care to join me?" She asked.
Glancing around uncertainly, he panicked while he nodded and said, "That sounds good!"
Right after that, the two of them left together side by side.
Waiting outside, Alicia hadn't moved a single inch until they left the restaurant. She slowly stepped on the gas pedal and shifted forwards a few parking spaces. What she had seen was an utter disappointment to her.
A hotel?
"Haha... Were they... planning to spend the night together?" She thought.
"What else could they possibly do at a place like this?"
The answer was obvious, but her heart was still thumping like flopping fish; she continuously fought to live on without giving up.
Therefore, she chose not to leave. Instead, she shifted her gaze to another spot and remained still.
She wasn't certain what she was supposed to do. She parked her car in front of the entrance and merely waited inside.
As time passed by, the street lights gradually became dimmer. There were only a few pedestrians on the road, and the lively city was slowly swallowed by darkness and turned into absolute silence. The people who went into the hotel never came out.
Her sight fell upon the rearview mirror which reflected the image of a familiar shadow. "Frederick's car is still here! Are they staying here for the night?" She asked herself.
She had been in a dilemma for many days before she came to this decision. She certainly wasn't expecting it to end like this!
It was as if reality had slapped her in the face. She even allowed her heart to be trampled upon by others. Alicia choked on her painful sobs as she leaned against the back seat and slowly closed her eyes then clenched her fists a few times.
"Should I go in?" She thought.
"It has already gone this far, so why should I even go in at this point? Wouldn't I be humiliating myself if I confronted them?"
On the inside, she felt two parts of herself arguing with each other, and it made her uncomfortable. Suddenly, a disdainful expression flashed across her mind together with words of disgust and humiliation.
"Why are you still here? How many times have I told you that Mr. Clements isn't here? Get out, now! Do you really not comprehend my words?" "You can't live without him, can you? Alicia, he doesn't love you anymore! He fled your wedding! Do you not understand the meaning behind that or are you not ashamed at all?"
"Look at how far you've gone just for a man. You look miserable!"
"Wow, the prideful Mrs. Blanchard! She's no different from a prostitute when it comes to love and a man! Haha..."
"Hehe... Look at your pitiful face. The answers written all over it. You've been dumped by Frederick. How embarrassing is that..."
"Haha..."
Alicia was on the verge of collapsing again. She shut her eyes tightly and her face became distorted with pain in the darkness. She didn't notice that a figure had staggered out from the side door and got into a woman's car.
In the hotel, Frederick was pulled to a corner by his friends as soon as he appeared at the event; he parted ways with Faye moments ago. After he bowled with his friends, his vision became blurry as he walked down the stairs, it was because he had consumed a few cups of alcohol earlier. At the counter, he booked a room for himself and promptly left for it.
Since Alicia's previous accident occurred in a hotel, he remembered to remind everyone to not disturb him and any room services weren't needed even though he was drunk. He fell into a deep sleep once he entered his room and locked his door.
There were many opportunities for them to get together in the past, but somehow, every time, there was something that prevented them from meeting.
At that moment, Alicia experienced
various emotions. The tears that welled up in her eyes weren't all because of sadness. Instead, it
indicated some joyous moments of her life. It had never occurred to her
that being fickle was a way of her
moving on. On the contrary Frederick hadn't expected that his misinformation helped his grandmother survive a man-made disaster while it left Alicia heart- broken; it completely changed their fate.
That night, Frederick was drunk while he tossed and turned on his bed. On the other hand, Alicia waited outside for him the entire night...
As the sky turned bright, a flash of lightning woke Alicia, who was still in a trance. Looking back, she realized that Vicki had drifted up into the sky and was in the sports car for an entire night.
Looking through the rearview mirror, the black car remained in the same position, but her eyes had lost the sparkle they once held. She felt cold, and her heart was numb.

She glanced over at the hotel's entrance for a last time before she started the car.
On the way back home, the wind was howling loudly and the rain was pouring dreadfully. As she walked under the pouring rain, her body was slowly drenched in rainwater; every step she took seemed familiar.
That day, it was also raining heavily while she waited for a long time.
The only difference was that she had chased after Jeremy in search of an answer. This time however, she couldn't even gather her courage to ask the questions.
"I guess this is fine as well. We won't be crossing paths in the future anymore!"
"What's the point of winning him
back this way? He's a man without feelings, a cheater who only seeks. pleasure in s*x. It isn't what I'm looking for! There's no need to savor our past relationship. My dignity is more important and there isn't a need for regret or sorrow." She told herself.
"I'm so tired of everything..."
The moment the door opened, her whole body was drenched in rainwater. Her face was pale, and her eyes were hollow. Nicholas heard her sound
and had noticed Alicia, who stood at the door dripping with rainwater from head to toe. His gaze immediately shifted to the pool of water on the
ground.
"Ally? What's going on?"
He took a few big steps towards her before he stopped midway and ran back...
