Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 78

Chapter 78

Alicia walked up to it without realizing it.

On top of the black display case, there was a pair of butterfly earrings that were different in length. One was long and the other was short. They were cute as if they were dancing as it shone in the distance.

For some reason, she was in a daze when she looked at it.

"Miss, here's your ring."

When Alicia came to her senses, she paid for it and took the ring, she signed and said, "Thank you!"

"You are welcome! Do you like this pair of earrings? You do have good taste. This is our new design. It's platinum inlaid with nine diamonds, and it's in the shape of a delicate butterfly. There are two precious pink diamonds. The hidden meaning behind it is 'We will fly together till the end of time'. We are thinking of promoting it during Christmas and advertise it as a sign of love. That is why the earrings are in the shape of snowflakes. It's very fashionable and suitable for a beautiful lady like you. It brings good luck to your love life. This is just a sample as it's just a prototype. There are pink and blue diamonds. You can have a look at it first. There are only five sets. It is on a first come first serve basis..."

The saleswoman tried very hard to promote it. She held the account book and flipped through it.

"Ordering it would cost 90,000, and the total price is about 290,000 dollars. If your order it now, not only can you be our member for free, but we will also give you a set of exquisite platinum pearl earrings and pendant. Those are worth about 3,000 dollars!"

Despite the design of the earrings which were butterflies that brought back hurtful memories, no matter how much she liked it, she could not afford it. Soon, Alicia looked away.

"Thank you! I'll take a look at it again next time!"

She turned around and was about to leave when a strange man blocked her way. "Miss, please hold on!"

She asked, "What's the matter?"

The man was wearing a dark brown jacket, black trousers and a pair of shiny leather shoes. He was plump and had big ears. His hair was neat and shiny, and there was a bag under his armpit. He was a middle-aged man. He had a kind smile and he looked polite. He did not seem like the annoying type.

"Miss, you look so beautiful! I wish to befriend you!"

As he spoke, he took out his business card.

"Don't think too much. I really don't mean anything else. I can tell that you are a friendly person as soon as I saw you! Miss, you like these earrings very much, don't you? Well, I'll give it to you as a gift for our first meeting. Let's be friends. We can find a place to talk. Is that okay?"

As soon as the man spoke, Alicia already knew his intentions. After all, back in college, she would encounter this situation every once in a while. Some people wanted to keep her, some people wanted to chase her, or some wanted to praise her. There were all types of people.

To put it bluntly, they only had one motive—to bring her to a hotel!

At first, Alicia did not want to be narcissistic, but after hearing him talk, she did not even want to pretend anymore.

"Sir, are you that generous? I really like these earrings, but it costs more than 300,000 dollars! 300,000 dollars just to have a cup of coffee with me. If that's the case, I'll consider it!"

She deliberately mentioned the price. Sure enough, she saw the man looking a little embarrassed the next second. Alicia then gave him a contemptuous look.

"You can't make an omelet without breaking eggs! Don't tell me that you think you can hook up with girls just because of a few thousand dollars! I will not be cheated! Mister, you have come to the wrong place! This is a jewelry store, not a cheap place for you to hook up with girls!"

What a shameless man! Does he take all women as idiots?

Alicia swung her bag and walked to the door. The man's face fell. Obviously, he was irritated. He stepped forward and blocked her way.

"It's just 300,000 dollars! I have plenty of money!"

Immediately, the man showed her a bank card and said, "Come on! Let's go! Let's go for a cup of coffee!"

As he said that, he wanted to grab her arm with his hand.

With a sneer, Alicia turned aside and avoided him as she thought, "These earrings are not for sale yet. Does he want to have a drink with me before he even can buy it? Is he out of his mind?"

At this time, the saleswoman had already swiped the card and returned the receipt.

"Sir, this is your receipt! Thank you for your support. We will inform you as soon as the product arrives! It will arrive in about two months' time! Should I give it to you or the lady?" she asked.

"What?" The man's face turned red. He fixed his angry eyes at Alicia and thought, "B*tch, how dare you cheat me?"

He was fuming.

He pointed angrily at Alicia. He grabbed Alicia's arm as the fats on his face shook. At this instant, a light cough was heard.

"Welcome, Master Clements, you have arrived!" the saleswoman said.

Alicia spun sideways and a trace of panic flashed across her face instantly. Frederick?

She saw the mocking smile on his lips, and Alicia knew that she was being despised.

She did not expect to see him again on such an occasion. She did not even know when he entered the store. She shook off the man's hand instinctively. She then took two big steps backward and kept a safe distance from him.

Frederick stepped forward and glanced at him coldly. "President Callum, what a coincidence!"

Did they know each other? As soon as he saw Frederick, the man quickly tidied up his suit and put on a different expression. He nodded and bowed.

"President Clements. What a coincidence!" He greeted with a smile.

"Are you out shopping with your wife? President Callum, you are such a good man! Mrs. Callum has just entered the men's clothing store across the street. Isn't she looking for you? Had I known this earlier, I would have informed her!"

The next second, the man's expression changed. In an instant, he was a cat on hot bricks as he turned around on the spot.

"I'm sorry, I still have something to do. President Clements, let's talk again in the future!"

As soon as he stuffed the things in his hand into his bag, the man walked quickly to the door. After a few steps, he stopped and turned around.

"Um... Can I return this? I don't think this product is suitable!" he said.

"It's fine to return the goods! But according to the rules, we will keep 10 percent as a penalty! That is a rule in our shop. You should know since you are a frequent visitor! Look!" the saleswoman answered.

With this, she pointed to a sign hanging on a wall. Suddenly, the man's face darkened. Wasn't that-

30,000 dollars?

He gritted his teeth and paused for a few seconds. Then, he said, "Forget it!".

He turned around and left in disgrace. Behind him, the saleswoman laughed in a low voice. "He deserves it!"

Alicia stood aside like this was her punishment. She dared not make a sound. Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

Frederick did not even look at her but headed straight inside. Soon, a manager took out a black tray.

"Master Clements, your pocket watch is quite aged. We are unable to find the exact same ruby. This is the most similar one. After being inlaid, we've tried to age it. We have even fixed the ring here. Do you think it's okay?"

Frederick inspected and stroked it. Then, he nodded and signed on a paper. After completing his transaction, he turned around and strode to the door. After a while, Alicia also walked out of the door.

Alicia followed him from a distance. She walked behind him, but she did not say anything, nor did she catch up with him. She did not know why she wanted to follow him.

Along the way, she had a lot of thoughts and walked forward with a jumbled mind. In her mind, she really wanted to make things better for both of them. When she finally mustered her courage, Alicia looked up and saw that his tall figure had already entered the car. The next second, a black car whizzed past her...
