Belong to the Lycan Alpha

Chapter 114

Lilac was actually a little bit sceptic when Hunter told her that Aiden would relent, because as far as she knew he was very stubborn. He wouldn’t relent easily.

But, as things turned out, she didn’t really know him at all, because not long after they could hear Aiden’s voice shouted from outside of the carriage. He demanded Hunter to talk with him again.

“Alpha Hunter! How much do you mean by the cost of war?!” Aiden asked. He was trembling out of anger. He didn’t want to give this lycan a cent, especially after he took Lilac away from him, but then he couldn’t afford to lose his baby.

He would treat this as a way for him to redeem himself after he caused this early labor and put his child in danger. This justified what he did to Ruby and their unborn child, so he would feel less guilty.

“I told you, right?” Hunter kissed Lilac’s lips briefly before he pushed her behind him, still didn’t want for Aiden to catch a glimpse of her.

“I think you know him better than I did,” Lilac muttered to herself, but Hunter heard it and pinched her thigh lightly to warn her.

It was not sure whether he disliked what Lilac said about him knew Aiden better than she did, or he didn’t like his woman talked about another man in his presence.

“A thousand gold,” Hunter blurted out to Aiden, in which almost made him fell to his knees to hear the amount that he demanded.

“Are you crazy!? The cost of the war will not reach that number!” Actually, it was Aiden, who was being driven crazy by Hunter because he couldn’t help, but vexed by how easy it was for him to blurt the number.

For comparison, his pack only spent two hundred gold for a whole year, but here Hunter was, trying to squeeze him dry by asking five times of his pack spending!

“There is no need to have a discussion if you don’t want to.” Hunter then told the coachmen to go and bark to the whole warrior. “What are you waiting for?! Are we going to spend the night here?!”

Lilac didn’t know what to do now, this was the worst bargain ever. Actually, this was not even a bargaining to begin with, because Hunter didn’t have any intention to help. He only wanted to make things difficult for Hunter.

However, Lilac felt bad for the baby, thus she tried to find a way for both parties to meet in the middle.

She knew Aiden couldn’t afford such amount, thus she tugged Hunter’s sleeve, she put an innocent expression so he wouldn’t be suspicious.

Meanwhile, Aiden was trying to stop them from moving.

“Hunter, do you know that a thousand golds is worth of five years the pack spending?” Lilac started, her voice was soft.

“Yes, I know,” Hunter said lightly, he had his way to figure that out, that was when he got the number. Well, he was not as clueless as Lilac thought.

He gave Aiden an astronomical amount because he knew it would put him in difficult situation. He was very cun ning and rather malicious with his method.

Lilac was still trying to figure out what the reason Hunter killed his own father in more detail.

“Hunter, what if you made a compromise?” Lilac wanted to laugh when she saw the alpha made a face when he heard that. He must have never heard the word of compromise, since he would get what he wanted or schemed his way to get it, either way, he would get a grip of the thing he wanted in the end.

There was no compromise for him. It was his way or no way. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Therefore, it would be a challenge for Lilac to convince him to agree with her. She was not sure how it would end up, but at the very least she needed to try.

She hated Aiden and Ruby for giving her so much pain, but she needed to thankful for them because what they did to her had brought her to Hunter and she was more than happy to have him as her mate.

“Hunter, actually there is something that I want from them, but I don’t think he will give it to me,” Lilac said, she knew how to read the situation and grab Hunter’s attention.

“What do you want?” Hunter now had all his focus on her, while the carriage started moving and Aiden kept shouting behind him. “Tell me, hm?”

“Luna Jasmine has this beautiful necklace made of precious gems, she said she would give it to me and I already fell in love with the necklace, unfortunately, there is no way or me to get it now.” Lilac didn’t say it openly her true intention, but as someone as ntelligent as Hunter, there was no way he didn’t know what she meant, since it was very bvious.

unter looked at her intensely, he pinched her chin and stared into her beautiful eyes. will pretend that I don’t know your motive and take your words as it is.”

Lilac gulped down with difficulty, because it seemed, she was terrible at acting for Hunter to be able to tell that she was only pretending.

“Do you really like the necklace?” Hunter asked again and Lilac nodded.

“I really like the necklace,” Lilac replied confidently. She indeed liked the necklace, but not to the point, she would think about it. She was fine without it though.

“Hm. Stay inside.” Hunter nodded and then told the coachmen to stop the carriage, after that he personally went out of the carriage and met with Aiden again. The latter had been running to catch up with him and this was very humiliating.

Meanwhile, Lilac peeked through the curtain and watched Hunter and Aiden were negotiating something, which upset the latter.

Not long after Hunter returned to the carriage. “You will get the necklace.”
