Betrayal At The Altar

Chapter 47

Chapter 47

The chauffeur slammed the brakes abruptly and stared dumbfounded at Rachel in the rearview mirror.

Rachel raised her arm and nonchalantly ruffled her wavy,

shoulder–length hair. Then, she said with a straight face, “Pull over somewhere.”

“Okay.”

The chauffeur soon found a parking lot. After pulling over, he walked toward the backseat to open the door for Rachel. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

Rachel bent forward and got out of the car. “I’ll go take a breather. Wait for me here.”

“Yes,” the chauffeur assented.

Rachel strutted across the pedestrian crossing and toward Lansen Restaurant in her stilettos. Even she herself didn’t realize that she was subconsciously searching for that tall and burly figure among the crowd. “Rachel Grey!” exclaimed Jane, who was just as stunned as Olivia to see Rachel.

They thought that Rachel, who had left the Smith family, would now be in a pathetic and disheveled state.

However, they didn’t expect things to turn out differently from what they initially thought.

Rachel was clad in a blue suit that was obviously made of expensive fabric. It was flashy yet refined. Rachel made it look extremely cool and sophisticated. Her aura was incredibly assertive.

With her long, curly hair cascading down her back, she had a trace of womanly sultriness amidst her cold temperament.

In the past, Olivia had been jealous of Rachel’s gorgeous face. At that moment, Rachel was far more stunning than before. Her innate nature and pride were vaguely suppressing Olivia.

“Rachel Grey, what are you doing here?” Jane questioned, her eyes filled with intense disgust and jealousy.

Rachel frowned slightly and glanced at them indifferently with a trace of

displeasure on her pretty face.

She was simply everywhere!

“Rachel, I didn’t expect to see you here. Are you here for a meal too?” Olivia asked, holding back some of the jealousy and coldness in her eyes. Instead, she smiled and stepped forward to get closer to Rachel.

Rachel kept a straight face, but her gaze was incredibly morose. “Miss Cruise, did my previous warning fall on deaf ears?”

Faced with her dark eyes and aloof beauty, Olivia’s smile stiffened, and she stood rooted to the ground, not daring to take another step forward.

“Rachel Grey, why do I see you everywhere I go? You’re really everywhere!” Jane exclaimed. Even to this day, Jane still remembers the slap Rachel gave her. Thus, she gritted her teeth in rage when she saw Rachel. However, she couldn’t beat Rachel, so she had no choice but to think of ways to upset her.

Glancing at Lansen Restaurant nearby, she said with a mocking smile, “You’re here for a meal too? Take a look at yourself in the mirror! Lansen Restaurant is not a place anyone can enter as they please!”

Rachel smirked and looked at Jane with icy cold eyes.

Her indifferent gaze made it seem like she was staring at a dead person. Jane’s heart skipped a beat as her arrogance gradually faded.

At that moment, Olivia said understandingly, “Rachel, I know you have something against me, and you think that I snatched Louis away from you, but you have no idea how I was forced to leave him. For the past three years, I’ve never forgotten him.”

“I reckon you’re also aware that Louis doesn’t love you. He suffers every single day that he’s with you. So if you truly care about him, shouldn’t you be trying to empathize with him?”

A trace of contempt appeared in Rachel’s eyes as she retorted, “He’s the one who betrayed me, but I’m the one at fault?”

“Rachel Grey, can you stop being so shameless? If you hadn’t pestered Louis while Olivia was away, he wouldn’t have agreed to it! Besides, if you hadn’t threatened him with the future of the company, Louis wouldn’t have agreed to marry you!”
