Annabelle

As if hearing my cry, both of them emerged from their hiding places.

“Annie?!” Dylan exclaimed in shock.

“Damn!” Mira cursed.

I shot them both a look of pure hatred and slapped Dylan across the face.

I could handle Mira’s animosity towards me, but not Dylan’s. Not the man who was supposed to be my mate.

Not the man who had impregnated me despite knowing he didn’t love me as he claimed before taking advantage of me.

Not the man who had made my life a living hell and wanted me dead.

Dylan held his face in fury, then smirked.

“You know, be grateful my dad doesn’t know about your pregnancy yet; otherwise, you’d be dead already. It’s unfortunate Mira is known to be your sister; otherwise, I’d have reported you straight to dad. I don’t want Mira’s family to suffer because of your mistake. I care too much for her for that…”

“You might have noticed, we’ve both marked each other. That’s all the more reason I want you gone forever. Do you understand now? I can’t have two mates. One of you has to leave, or better yet, dic!” He sneered.

“Just reject her; I’m sure Dad would take care of this mess,” Mira interjected.

“I trust Head Warrior Darius too. He wouldn’t want anything to jeopardize his position. or possessions, especially since you’re not his biological child.” They both chuckled evilly, causing tears to well up in my eyes.

“I, Dylan McLaughlin, reje-”

“I, Annabelle, reject you, Dylan McLaughlin, as my fated mate, forever!” I cut off Dylan’s declaration and made my own, refusing to let him reject me officially after all the

forment he put me through. I had to be the one to reject him. I had to make him feel the pain I was enduring!

“No! I won’t accept it!” He groaned in pain, staring at me in before collapsing to

the ground.

“Dylan, you have to accept it! You’re in pain! Mira yelled at him.

“No! I won’t let that weak thing reject me! I have to be the one to reject her. How dare she?!!” He groaned. I couldn’t bear to witness any more of this sickening scene.

I needed my mom. She was the only one who supported me. The pain of rejecting my mate was excruciating and unbearable.

I returned to the ward to find my mom, but it was empty. So, I decided to head back home.

Upon reaching home, I saw all my belongings strewn outside the mansion.

“I don’t want to see her in this house ever again!” I heard Dad’s voice from inside.

“Darling, you can’t do this to her! She has nowhere to go.”

“I don’t care!” Dad screamed. “And where the hell is that bastard?!” He asked rhetorically, stepping out of the mansion and spotting me. “Good, you’re here! Now, I want you out of my house, out of my life, and out of this pack! You don’t and won’t ever belong here!”

“Honey, please stop. Don’t send her away,” Mom pleaded on my behalf.

“Mom…” I cried, rushing to her and embracing her. Mom patted my back and stroked my hair. She was the only one on my side.

“It’s better we resolve this sensibly. Honey, we can’t just cast her aside.”

“We have limited time left before news of her pregnancy reaches the alpha; you’re spoiling her too much!”

“Let’s sell her,” Mom suggested.

I pulled away from Mom, staggering until I fell.

Tears filled my eyes as I witnessed the indifference on Mom’s face.

I thought she was on my side.

Why was everyone suddenly against me? I wasn’t the first female wolf to get pregnant. before mating.

“Well, that makes sense. But to whom?”

“I heard the neighboring pack’s Luna is seeking a slave for her mute son. We could sell her to him. What do you think?” Mom suggested, causing my heart to ache with pain.

“Wow, that’s a brilliant idea, honey. We should sell her.”

“Great, then I’ll make arrangemente

to contact Luna Sandra now.”

The tears streaming down my face turned into a flood.

I fled the mansion’s gate without direction, but the guards seized me.

“Lock her up in her room until further notice.” Dad ordered the guard, who lifted me up and carried me to my room.

I struggled to break free, but the guard’s grip was too strong.

Upon reaching my room, he threw me onto the floor and locked the door.

“Let me out!” I pounded on the door, but I knew no one would help me. I was trapped here.

Eventually, I collapsed on the ground, awaiting my inevitable sale to someone I didn’t even know.

A knock came at the door.

“What do you want?” I answered harshly when I realized it was Mira at the door. She chuckled slyly.

“I heard you’re about to be sold to Luna Sandra’s mute son, Alpha Derek, as his slave.

“Get out!” I snapped, tired of hearing her taunts, and she laughed.

“Just know that you’ll be sold tonight. I heard the price is substantial. Dad will be much richer after selling you… After all, he deserves it for saving a child that should have been dead long ago.” She laughed hysterically.

I cried.

But crying wouldn’t alter my fate; I wiped away my tears.

I had to escape this mansion immediately. I wouldn’t wait here until I was sold to some mute, heartless Alpha..

I surveyed my surroundings, searching for a means of escape.

That’s when I saw it: my window.

How could I have forgotten about it?

I dashed to the window, my only way out, and a small, sad smile tugged at my lips.

Finally, I could escape.

But as I peered through the window, I saw guards everywhere.

Oh no…

I had to find a way to escape without being noticed.

It was dusk already, which helped conceal me, but the surrounding light made it easier for the guards to spot me if I attempted to escape.

Suddenly, the bell signaling the arrival of an important visitor rang.

The gates swung open, and a beautiful car entered the compound.

Indeed, they had arrived.

Hiding behind a tree, I watched as a beautiful woman, likely Luna Sandra, stepped out

of the car.

“Welcome…” Mom embraced the woman and kissed her cheek.

I hadn’t known Mom was so close to Luna Sandra.

“What about him? Your son?” Mom inquired of Luna Sandra.

Another car pulled into the compound, and a man emerged.

“That’s him,” Luna confirmed.

As the man turned in my direction, I gasped in shock.
