Chapter 117
Chapter 117
Sofia’s POV
I took a step back and watched as both men carefully carried in all the stuff which we got from the mall
yesterday, and as I watched them align the stuff beside one another, it was making me realize just how
plentiful the stuff was. I chewed on my lips a little with my back resting against the wall as I watched
silently and some minutes later, they started carrying in the big boards and drawing canvas and other
bigger stuff.
I allowed my eyes to wander around the room, a motion which I had been repeating over and over
again, each time both men exited the room to go carry some more stuff, leaving me alone in the room.
The room was large. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
When I say it was large, I meant it was more spacious than I ever expected. Heck, I didn’t even expect
Luca to agree to me painting in the first place, and after he did, I decided to try my luck further by
requesting a room which I’d be using for my painting stuff, all to myself, and unexpectedly, he had
agreed instantly. Of course, I hadn’t been expecting him to even give me a room this wide, even if he
was going to be agreeing to give me a room all to myself.
But here we are right now. I am in so much luck, even I’ve got to admit that part to myself.
I turned around and walked a few steps sideways until I was standing before the window which was still
wide open. With nothing in my way of the direct sunlight and the direct breeze hitting my face, like the
thick glasses in front of all the windows I’ve ever come across.
I dragged in a deep breath and allowed my eyes to slide shut as the sunlight bathed my face
thoroughly, the breeze from the outside was blowing around my face as well and I felt it start to move
the wisps of hair lying around the sides of my face, around a little.
The sounds of footsteps approaching didn’t dawn on me until the sounds of stuff being dropped echoed
in the room a little and I jolted a little as my eyes flew open. I refused to turn around because I could
still remember the encounter I had with Ethan beside the window yesterday, and the memory was still
fresh in my head ever so clearly.
“Ma’am?” I heard Ethan’s voice echo and I turned around a little until I was glancing at them while my
body was still facing tne window. Both men were staring at me like I was doing something which I
shouldn’t be doing and I corked my head to the side a little as I waited for him to state his reason for
calling on my name.
“Er, I’m sorry to have interrupted you ma’am, but you shouldn’t be standing before the window that
way.” Ethan said and I stated at him pointedly, because I could still remember him telling me about how
it was literally like a free world for me and how I can stand before the window it I wanted to and how I
shouldn’t be afraid because it was my house as well as Luca’s.., and now he was standing w few feet
away from me, beside Ryan… telling me this?
It isn’t even adding up.
“What?” I echoed out, turning my whole body around until I was fully racing them and my hands were
kufing off away from my sides and wrapping around my stomach because I was feeling confused really
fast.
“I meant that, it’s really dangerous for you to stand before an open window the way you did some
moments ago, and that mr ricci wouldn’t like it because it’s dangerous dey you.”
Oh.
“It was dangerous for me?” I asked after a moment, because I still wasn’t able to math the mathemating
completely yet.”
I watched as he nodded his head once before starting to speak. “You were standing in front or an open
window and staring out of it, anybody could have been at thst side of the house in that very moment,
and they could have been with a microscope and a gun.” Ethan started to explain and after a few
seconds, I felt my heart starting to slowly sink into my stomach.
“He could choose to whip out his gun and shoot you immediately without even thinking twice.” Ethan
continued and I felt myself flinching a little before I could control it, goosebumps covered my skin in the
next moment and it was for a really bad reason.
I dragged in a small breath and puffed it out after a moment, before I lifted my head up and stared into
both mens faces at the same time.
“It’s that bad?” I demanded in a quiet voice, because sometimes I’d find myself seeing Luca in a whole
different light and sometimes, stuffs like this comes up and I’d be reminded immediately that Luca is a
really bad and dangerous man, because there was no way a man who isn’t so dangerous, would be
able to have so many enemies who might be lurking around his house every moment.
“Yeah, it is actually really bad, and sometimes, it’s worse than that. It all depends though.” Ethan said a
small shrug which I didn’t miss, the shrug literally meant that he expected me to know all what he had
just said to me since I was literally married to the man.
I dragged in another deep breath and puffed it out slowly, taking in another deep breath almost
immediately and puffing it out instantly once again, tne feeling of my heart which had unconsciously
started to rave start to slowly calm down.
I took a step to the side and ran my fingers over my arm whine steering around the room, completely
aware of the fact that there were two men who were standing a few feet away from me, and that thrum
eyes were trailing my every move, and that they weren’t even trying to hide it at this point.
I took a few step away from where I was standing and moved my right shoulder up so it pointed
backwards at the window, with my eyes locked with Ethan’s. “Would you come to shut it then?” I asked
and bit on my lower lips as I watched him give a nod of his head before he came towards me and
started to fiddle with the windows until he had dragged it close, automatically lowering the power of the
sunlight which had been intense lying pouring into the room in a good way. He moved towards the
second window in the room and did the same thing to it, and once he was done, he slowly turned
around until he was staring at me once again.
I dragged in a deep breath and puffed it out ever so slowly, moving my fingers towards and trying to run
my fingers through my hair. And then I realized thst i coukfbt do that because my hair had been packed
into a single braid this morning behind my head, but that he it of my running my fingers through my hair
and combing my fingers through it, was a huge part of me and something I do unconsciously, so I
guess it was pretty understand that I had forgotten about the fact thst my hair wasn’t cascading around
my shoulders and waist at the moment.
I placed my hands on my waist and dragged in a deep breath, taking a few steps backwards and
throwing my gaze at the pile of stuff which obviously needed to be put away to their various places.
“Alright, we should probably start sorting this whole thing out, right?” I said loudly as I moved towards
the pile of painting stuffs which were all placed beside themselves in one part of the room, feeling both
men move behind me and were currently standing behind me even though they hadn’t said a thing
aloud in reply.
“I moved forward and was about to lift up a small box when Ethan’s voice made me pause immediately.
“The master said you are not supposed to touch a thing.”
