Chapter 57
“Will you constantly worry about me?”
Softly he asked He tried hard to cover his impotence, but his face still showed a trace of sadness.
He held Ava Lins firmly.
Ava Lins laid on the man’s chest, helpless…
Her phone rang suddenly.
Ava Lins didn’t change the sound to vibration, but it was piercing.
“I’ll go pick up the phone,” she said, pushing Goden Bran aside.
The screen showed an odd number. “Hello…” said Ava Lins, perplexed.
“…”
On the opposite side, steady breathing. He didn’t say or make a sound.
He waited until Ava Lins had had enough and was ready to hang up when she heard “I miss you…”
“I miss Ava.”
His voice appeared to have the power to penetrate her heart.
“Sorry, you phoned the wrong number,” she said, her voice agitated as she noticed Goden Bran approaching.NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.
She hastily ended the call.
“Did you make a mistake?”Goden Bran asked, walking closer to her.
Then she drew back. She bowed her head and charged her phone. “I misdialed.”
Goden Bran grimaced at her rear view.
Jeorge Milton listened to his phone’s beeping noises for a long time.
A nurse answered the door. He put down his phone and relaxed.
“Mr. Milton, you must sign this agreement if you leave the hospital.”
It was an arrangement with the hospital so he couldn’t blame them if he refused to leave.
The doctor informed him he couldn’t leave the hospital for now. He needed to stay in the hospital for treatment, but he refused.
Despite the nurse’s advice, he took the pen and wrote his name on it.
Your legs are momentarily not convenient to go about, therefore I propose that you allow your relatives come and pick you up.”
Jeorge Milton stared out the window at the hazy moon, immersed in meditation.
Next day.
Mrs. Ben felt concerned after sending Jeorge Milton to his home and could only remain behind to care for him. “Your grandpa felt you wanted to return there and was quite thrilled, even his room was entirely cleaned up for you,” she said after cleaning up the room.
“Mrs. Ben isn’t reprimanding you, but home is the most important place, so forget about the past and worry about your grandpa.”
Jeorge Milton sat in his wheelchair, grimaced, and pushed it out into the hall.
Mrs. Ben spun around to face his obstinate back. “All the guys in your Milton Family are one person, tenacious to the end,” she sighed.
He got out of his wheelchair and went to the pool. After much deliberation, he called Ava Lins.
He paused before responding.
“Don’t you want it to end? If you want to talk to me, come visit me right immediately,” he urged quietly.
“Mrs. Ben, you can go back now,”Jeorge Milton said after hanging up.
“How can it be?” said Mrs. Ben.
“I came here to care for you; how can I leave?”
“Just go back and tell Grandfather I ordered you to go back. I already have a servant taking care of you here,”Jeorge Milton grumbled.
“Others can take better care of them than me, but what if they hurt where they are, leaving behind concealed dangers?” Mrs. Ben fretted.
“Even if your grandpa didn’t tell me to remain, I have to stay to take care of you. I won’t be at rest until you’re alive and kicking.
In a bind, Jeorge Milton Mr. Ben didn’t want Mrs.
Sighing. “It’s up to you. I truly have no means of dealing with you,” he said hopelessly.
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Ben smiled like a child who had just tasted honey.
Ava Lins pondered what he would say next. She took a few deep breaths, as if negotiating on the battlefield.
Her every word and movement had fallen into Jeorge Milton’s eyes.
A camera was at the door. The high-tech equipment had translated her every word and gesture onto his tablet computer.
His lips curved slightly.
“Mrs. Ben, go answer the door,” he asked after shutting off the tablet computer.
“Is anybody coming?”
“Yes.”
“Alright, I’ll go answer the door,” Mrs. Ben chuckled. “It’s that terrible brat David Irving.”
She cleaned his hands and strolled past the garden and pool to unlock the door.
The door opened as Ava Lins was about to push the doorbell.
When Mrs. Ben met Ava Lins, his grin progressively faded.
That look was disrespectful, but she couldn’t help but stare at Ava Lins in a stupor.
“It’s too similar,” she murmured.
Ava Lins felt awkward and uneasy being gazed at by someone who’s eyes were already crimson.
She feigned. “Hello.”
Then Mrs. Ben regained her wits. “You must be here to locate Jeorge Milton, right?” she said, her voice quivering.
“Enter.”
Mrs. Ben opened the door for Ava Lins. “What is young miss’s surname?” Mrs. Ben would question sometimes as she walked behind her.
But Mrs. Ben had a lot of questions that sounded like account searches. “Miss Lins, sorry, I was too nasty,” Mrs. Ben groaned, “please go up, he is waiting for you.”
She forced a grin and walked up the steps.
When Ava Lins entered the room, she saw Jeorge Milton in a wheelchair.
Legs…
She was stunned and unable to speak. She squinted at his thigh ‘You’
Jeorge Milton looked horrified and bitterly grinned. He had nearly lost a leg because of her, but she didn’t know…
He sighed, not caring whether she knew. He didn’t go to rescue her or thank him.
He didn’t mean to mention his legs. Instead, he poured himself a cup of the finest black tea and said, “Come here.”
“This tea is quite delicious, try it yourself,” he said as she sat on the couch.
Ava Lins wasn’t in the mood for tea, so she didn’t offer her hand. “I didn’t come to tea with you today, Jeorge Milton.”
How did she have time for him?
Jeorge Milton gazed up at her worried face, and his heart ached indescribably.
“You want to abandon me?”
“Do I mistreat you?”
“Our relationship isn’t normal in the first place. It will end sooner or later, regardless of whether it’s good or horrible,”Ava Lins replied, avoiding his sight.
