Chapter 40: Can’t Handle Haut Couture
Chapter 40: Can’t Handle Haut Couture
My eyes widened at the brightly lit up suite. I began to feel oddly nervous as luxurious sports cars were
parked side to side, indicating how big this event really was.
"Holy shit, Micah I can't do this." Benny quietly whined, some people walking to the party also, dressed
very nicely. "These people look like a bunch of 10's and I look like a solid negative 2."
I quickly shook my head as I looked at him. "Benny, not even. We just have to remain calm and not act
like they're better than us, which they aren't. No one is better than anybody." I lied, definitely
understanding why he didn't feel like going in anymore.
I myself was very underdressed and I feel like someone rich in there is gonna slap me for it and I would
happily take it. It's just crazy how much I didn't know how to dress for certain social occasions.
Everyone stood out and we haven't even gotten inside the suite yet. "I'm a bad bitch, I'm a bad bitch."
He whispered under his breath. "I'm a Nicki in a sea full of Iggys, I can do this." I couldn't help but laugh
as he gave himself the funniest pep talk ever.
A long line began to form as I sighed loudly to myself, shyly glancing around the people that was
around us.
Booming music already made it's way into our ears as a few voices in front of the line began to rise in
volume. "What do you mean my name is not on that list? I'm Posh's best friend in the whole wide
world!" Milan exclaimed, catching some annoyed glances from people. "Please check again!"
"Look dude, I checked it more than 3 times already, you're name is not on the list." Dallas anxiously bit
his lip as I examined his black suit. "I'm sorry." He apologized.
Why the hell is Dallas a bodyguard?
Milan sniffed as he began to walk off, muttering something under his breath. "This is so unfair."
After Dallas let a bunch of people in, it was finally our turn. His eyes shimmering at us. "Micah, Benny!
I'm surprised you guys are here. I thought you guys hated Posh."
Benny waved him off. "Just here for the drinks so make it quick and let us in already." His heavily
curious eyes trying to look inside the suite.
Dallas anxiously breathed out, his eyes looking up from the list and back on us. "Micah, you're name is
on the list, but Benny's isn't."
My mouth immediately dropped as Benny snapped his head back. "Wow, of course it isn't! That hating
ass bitch." He shook his head to himself as he was visibly embarrassed since what Dallas said was
heard by other people in the line. "Micah go and drink for me, I'll just wait back in the cabin." His voice
was audibly hurt and he was trying to cover it.
I felt so bad.
My face immediately crinkled as I walked off the line with Benny, Dallas proceeding to let the next
people in. "Benny you're stupid if you think I'm leaving you." I let out.
"Leave me or not, I'm still hella dumb for thinking I'd be able to get in that snake filled party. So fucking
pathetic." Benny spoke sharply as I jogged to match his angered pace. "I just wanna go home."
"Benny I'm sorry." I blurted out, softening my face at him.
"There's nothing to be sorry for."
My eyes didn't leave his as we continued to walk away. "Look, Benny we don't have to go home and
feel bad about ourselves." I immediately stopped walking, gripping onto his wrist to make him look back
at me. "Let's go eat somewhere." I suggested as he didn't even look back at me.
Benny's head was dropped down as he didn't respond, my grip quickly letting go of him. "You know,
Micah." Benny swallowed as the lump in his throat was audible now. "I can't believe my dumbass really
fell for it."
I remained quiet as people walked pass us, the sound of music playing in the distance. "This happened
before and I'm so fucking mad that it happened again!" Benny exclaimed, not caring about the people
throwing us looks. "Who do think you're throwing a dirty look at bitch!? Your dress looks like it was
sewn by a bunch of malnourished rats so don't fucking look at me like that!" My eyes widened as he
began to berate a random girl.
"Benny who are you talking to?" I cautiously whispered.
I quickly held him back as he began to look genuinely pissed, the girl responding back. "This is totes
haut couture and you can't handle haut couture so I'm sorry I can't say the same for your H&M mess
up. Continue letting your skin color blend in the dark, peasant."
My face quickly turned sour at her. "There's no need to speak like that miss-" Benny's voice quickly
overpowered mine.
"Peasant? Me? Peasant?" He rapidly looked at me in disbelief. "I know this washed up hairless cat
didn't just call me a peasant and try to be racist at the same time!" Benny rapidly became ballistic as I
knew I had to hold him or else all hell will break loose. I held him tight as he prepared to fight her,
thrashing his body around to run up towards her. "Your haut couture looks like hot shit! Micah I swear,
let me go!"
The girl giggled as she adjusted her large pink fur coat, walking closer towards the suite as I kept
Benny tightly held in place in efforts to not start up anything. "That's Kaitlyn Chanel Versace Von Gucci
for you, jealousy is a disease, hope you feel better!" She threw an air kiss goodbye as I shook my head
in disapproval.
"Benny let's go." I softly spoke.
Of course Benny had to get the last word out. "I'd worry more about the STD you probably have girl!
Now that's one hell of a disease, hope you're ass don't feel better!" He aggressively air kissed back.
"Dumb bitch!"
"Okay Benny that's enough." I tugged onto his arms tighter making his face crinkle at me.
"Why you holding me like I'm crazy!? Let go!" He tiredly exclaimed. "It's not my fault her rude ass was
throwing me a dirty look for no reason! Did you hear what she saying back to me? Talking about how I
should continue blending into the night, who the fuck says that?" He ranted and I wholeheartedly
agreed but I just wanted him to calm down.
"Disgusting human beings exist and we can't do anything about it, Benny, come on." I gestured for him
to walk back with me.
"Teach them a lesson, that's what you can do about it." Benny scoffed, fixing his turtle neck. "Jokes on
her anyway, I don't care if my glowing skin tone can blend into this gorgeous night because I'm proud of
it and I know I'm serving looks! Also, did you hear what that bitch name was?"
"Kaitlyn something something." I quietly responded.
"Kaitlyn Versace I'm a Hoe Washington?" He let out, making me laugh. "I don't remember. If that's her
real name though, you know her initials are wack."
"I doubt that's her real name Benny."
Walking back was definitely not easy since Keanu drove us to Posh's suite to begin with and now we
don't have a ride back. "These boots are made for strutting around a social event, not walking this
depressing ass road." Benny loudly cried. "You don't know anyone that can drive us back? Doesn't
Jesse have your number?"
I sighed, glancing at Benny's frown. "I would call him but he said he'd be playing basketball with his
friends. I don't wanna bother him."
Benny snapped his neck back as his walking got slower. "Don't wanna bother him? Micah we're in the
middle of nowhere!"
"And that's not his fault! Jesse doesn't even have a car." I rolled my eyes, audibly starting to get
frustrated at our situation. "What about you?"
"No one really, unless you wanna sit in the same car as Logan." Benny yawned, stretching out as he
took his jacket off.
"I would rather step on a box filled with legos." I bit, burying my hands into my pocket as the cold air
began to surround us.
Benny quietly laughed. "Okay bitch I see you, finally gaining a sense of humor."
My mouth playfully dropped. "Am I really that boring?"
Benny side-eyed me as he dramatically scratched the back of his head. "I wouldn't say boring. Just,
okay."
"Just okay?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Just okay." He repeated.
"Not everyone has a huge personality like you Benny." I laughed as he smiled to himself. "I'm just still
getting used to talking to this many people. Back in high school all I talked to was my counselor and my
teachers. Oh and also Brandon, but that was it."
"Really?" Coughed Benny. "You don't even have 1 friend from high school that you can hit up and talk
to?"
I slowly shook my head, not even hesitating to say no. "Never."
"That's crazy." Benny breathed out, a tone of surprise blending in with his voice.
"Yup."
Benny and I remained quiet. The sounds of our footsteps hitting against the rugged ground and the
sounds of wind hitting against the tall trees were the only things making noise.
I hate this situation so much. Posh said that everyone was invited so why wasn't Benny invited? Now
we're here, stuck, having to walk so far all the way back to our cabin. The level of bullshit is just too
much.
My eyes slowly looked up as the sound of music coming from inside a car got closer to us. Benny
quickly turned around, his eyes following the car that was slowing down.
The darkly tinted window quickly went down, exposing a saddened Milan. "Do you guys need a ride?"
He sniffed, my eyes widened at his surprising request.
"Thanks for asking but-" I quickly stopped talking the second my eyes landed on Benny quickly running
himself towards the car.
Benny evilly laughed to himself as he quickly got in the white car. "Oh praise the Lord heavenly savior!"
Benny's loud voice echoed around the night as Milan watched him get in, my mouth subtly widened.
"Hurry! Micah what the hell you waiting for?" Benny exclaimed, waving his hand for me to get in.
"S-sorry." I subtly shook my head as I jogged towards the car, heavily surprised that Milan even let us
get in it. This was very odd.
I remained quiet as my eyes remained widened, glancing at Benny who quickly made himself
comfortable. "You know, I never knew you had the capabilities of being kind Milan." He loudly laughed
as Milan just sighed. "What car is this?"
"My Rolls Royce." Milan's voice sounded drained as he responded. "Boring I know." He added.
Benny remained quiet as he quickly took his black boots off. "My feet has been internally crying! It's
about time I calm them down." He fanned himself as he threw his head back.
Milan glanced at us and back on the road. "Posh didn't let you guys in either?"
I remained quiet, Benny already speaking for me. "Micah's name was on it, but not mine."
Milan took a second to reply as his eyes seemed very focused on the road. "I've never felt more
embarrassed in my life. Watching other high-class people throw me dirty looks felt like knives stabbing
me to the death." His eyes quickly landed on the rear view mirror to look at me. "How'd you get that?"
"G-get what?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Your black eye?"
"Oh." I licked over my lips as I looked out the window, sighing. "Logan."
Milan surprisingly didn't seem amused by this as if he's heard it before. "I can relate." Me and Benny
quickly looked at him. "People think I broke up with him just to be an asshole when the reality was he
used to hurt me." He sniffed.
Benny let out an audible gasp. "Oh my god, really? I never knew about this! You didn't sue him? Why'd
did you wanna go back with him if he used to hurt you?"
A sharp exhale left my mouth as he continued speaking. "Just to try and be on the same level as Posh,
I guess. It's stupid, I know. I don't even know why I tried so hard. Posh was such a horrible friend and I
can't believe I was able to put up with that!"
I finally found my voice. "Well at least now you found the courage to not put up with it anymore. No one
deserves to be treated like shit. I even said the same thing to Dallas but he just doesn't listen." NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
Milan's sleepy eyes quickly lit up as if he got the biggest and brightest idea ever. "You know what, I
have a suite also! I don't know why I have never tried to throw my own party. Well actually I have, but
Posh told me that I make parties lame and really tacky."
"So, what you thinking?" Benny's lips formed a wide grin as Milan spoke again.
"Let's throw the most f-funnest, biggest, littest party ever a-and invite everyone, and I mean everyone,
except for Posh!" Milan cheered as he stuttered from excitement, taking his eyes off the road to fully
look at us now. "We'll make him feel how we feel!"
"Keep your eyes on the road now!" Benny cackled as he glanced at me and then at Milan who began to
drive faster. "No shade but I can't believe I'm about to say this, Milan, I really like that idea." Benny
warmly smiled, sneaking in another sentence. "Just make sure to have tons of alcohol in that party and
we good."
"I like that idea also." I added confidently, making Milan's saddened facial expression slightly diminish.
