Chapter 48 Scar Gets Rubbed Off

Diving into the water, Louis searched around before he found Blanche trapped at the bottom of the pool. He swam over to her, his expression angry.

Blanche's eyes widened in surprise and relief as she saw someone coming to rescue her.

However, as Louis approached, his pupils trembled. Through the water, he could clearly see the hideous scar on Blanche's face.

Her mask had fallen off, revealing an ugly scar that looked like a grotesque bug crawling on her face. She looked like a female ghost.

It happened too suddenly and Blanche didn't realize her mask had fallen off. She grabbed Louis's hand and pointed to her leg anxiously.

Louis didn't care what Blanche was trying to say. Without any mercy, he grabbed her and tried to pull her out of the water.

When he couldn't move her, he turned around and glared at her.

Blanche anxiously pointed to her leg again. Louis looked over and finally noticed that her leg was entangled in the water plants.

He swam over and untangled her leg before swimming away.

As soon as Blanche surfaced, she realized something was wrong with her face. She touched it and found that her mask had fallen off!

She dove back into the water to look for it.

Meanwhile, on the shore, Cathy quietly clenched the mask and put it in her bag. She was waiting for Blanche, the ugly woman, to come ashore and face everyone's ridicule.

Louis pulled Blanche out of the water, wondering why she was still swimming around like she had a death wish.

"What are you still swimming for? Get out of the water!"

Blanche finally understood why Louis looked so terrified when he saw her underwater.

But she was exhausted and couldn't swim anymore. She touched her scar. What was the point of being afraid? Anyway, she was determined to make them think she was ugly. Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

With her head held high, Blanche stepped onto the stairs and walked ashore.

As expected, people started to gossip about her.

"Oh, she's so ugly! That scar is so scary-looking."

"Seriously, she's so ugly. She makes me want to puke."

"How can someone so ugly marry into the Herbart family? It's so unfair. I'm much more beautiful than her!"

......

As soon as she got ashore, Blanche was bombarded with comments about her appearance.

Louis was embarrassed. He didn't want to face Blanche who looked so ugly, so he turned to leave with a cold face.

But Blanche beat him to it. She was affected and threw herself into his arms, her slender arms wrapped around his strong waist as she whispered.

"Honey, I'm so cold. Someone pushed me just now deliberately and scared me. You have to avenge me."

Louis was angry and wanted to push her away.

But Blanche was wet and dripping in his arms, shivering. For once, he felt a hint of sympathy.

"Did someone push you deliberately?"

If he hadn't gone down to save her just now, Blanche might have drowned. The water grass had wrapped tightly around her legs, and he had taken a lot of effort to free her.

"Yes, it was Cathy who pushed me. She suddenly came over and said you were hers, and if she drowned me, she could marry you. I almost died just now. You saw it. The water grass wrapped around my legs, and I couldn't get free. You guys didn't come down to save me."

Blanche showed half of her face, pointed at Cathy with her slender figure, and then leaned against Louis's arms again like an injured hedgehog.

She wouldn't let Cathy, that mean woman, off easily.

Cathy's eyes widened in anger, and she began to scold Blanche.

"Blanche, you're lying. You jumped down yourself. Don't try to frame me."

Both sides stuck to their stories, and people started to discuss.

"Who is telling the truth? Did Miss Bird push Blanche?"

"Don't believe this ugly freak. She's intentionally framing me. I didn't push her at all. Louis, you can't believe her words." Cathy threw a glance at her friends in the crowd, and they immediately understood.

"I can testify that Blanche jumped down herself. I was nearby just now and saw everything. Miss Bird didn't push Blanche."

"Tsk, Blanche really has no shame. She'll do anything to achieve her goals, even jumping into the water and shifting the blame onto others."

Louis's face turned ashen. Did Blanche jump down herself or was she pushed?

Blanche spoke softly, "Honey, I didn't lie to you. It was Cathy who pushed me. Woo-woo, I'm so cold."

When she saw Louis's cold eyes, Blanche wasn't afraid and acted coquettishly.

"Honey, don't you believe me? I know Miss Bird is pretty and you think I'm ugly, but she did something wrong, so she should bear the consequences. You can't protect her."

"Blanche, you ugly freak, you're slandering me!"

Cathy stepped forward and suddenly pulled Blanche, causing her to reveal the terrifying scar on her face.

"Honey, she called me an ugly freak and scolded me. Woo-woo, I'm so sad."

Blanche buried her head in Louis's broad chest and rubbed against him.

Louis pushed Blanche away and took a step back, gritting his teeth.

"Blanche! Stay away from me."

She insisted on coming to the party though he didn't want her to. This entire night, Blanche had caused trouble wherever she went.

But to everyone's surprise, when Blanche rubbed against Louis's chest just now, she rubbed off the scar on her face.
