CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 821

Wes's expression changed. "How do you know? Who told you?"

Nina squinted, pretending to know more than she did. "I know a lot. Otherwise, why would the person behind you want to kill me?" Wes scoffed, then realized something. "It was Mr. Micah who told you, wasn't it? You really have a way of deceiving him."

His hostility towards Nina increased.

"But why don't you talk about how ruthless your young lady is?" Nina retorted.

"Don't you dare speak ill of her!" Wes pressed the knife against Nina's neck, his voice menacing. "You're about to die, and you still have so much to say. Do you think I won't kill you?" Nina's breath caught, and she dared not move.

Following Wes out of the forest, she noted how familiar he seemed with the terrain.

"You're very familiar with this place," she remarked. "You must have walked through here many times."

Wes sneered. "I grew up in these mountains. This forest is nothing. I know every inch of it."

"How much longer do we have to walk?" Nina asked.

"That's not for you to ask. Keep quiet!" Wes snapped.

Realizing he wouldn't answer, Nina fell silent. The dense forest made travel difficult, forcing them to walk without any means of transport. Sweat dripped from Nina's forehead as she trudged along. She was determined to confront Ivy. Was it really just Ivy's possessiveness over her brother that made her hate Nina so much?

A shrill voice pierced the air. "Did you bring that woman back? If you can't even do that, you're all useless!"

It was Ivy, throwing a tantrum.

"She's here! Wes brought her back!" someone reported.

Ivy's anger dissipated instantly, a cruel smile spreading across her face. "Good, you didn't disappoint me. Otherwise, you'd have suffered."

To her, killing these people would be easy, but it wouldn't be satisfying. Torturing those she hated was much more enjoyable.

With a wicked grin, Ivy stepped outside, where she saw Wes with Nina in tow.

Nina noticed many people waiting, some kneeling with fresh slap marks on their faces, clearly indicating Ivy's cruelty. Even the women serving her were trembling.

Nina's eyes focused on Ivy, who was

dressed in traditional attire unique to Yaren tribe, giving her an exotic appearance. Yet, there was something familiar about her face, though Nina couldn't place it.

"Miss!" Wes kept his head down. "I've brought her."

"I know," Ivy responded coldly. She walked up to Nina and slapped her without hesitation.

Nina's head snapped to the side, her ears ringing.

"What are you looking at? Kneel!" Ivy demanded, her eyes vicious.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Nina felt the sting of Ivy's slap, noting the pleasure it seemed to give her, as if she enjoyed having Nina at her mercy.

With a red handprint blooming on her cheek, Nina looked up at Ivy. "Do I know you?"

Ivy paused. "What are you talking about?"

Nina smiled despite the pain. "Don't

I? You went to great lengths to capture me. It can't be just to slap me. Let me guess, you're jealous because your brother likes me more than you?"

Ivy's eyes widened with rage. "Nonsense! Jealous of you? You're just a country bumpkin. You're nothing compared to me. I'm an upper glass woman, respected by

everyone. Who do you ou

are?"

"If I don't know you, why do you want me dead?" Nina pondered aloud, her eyes fixed on Ivy.

"Stop staring at me!" Ivy snapped, feeling unnerved under Nina's gaze.

"Ivy..." Nina repeated her name thoughtfully. "Is that really your name, or did you take someone else's identity?"
