Chasing Back My Ex-wife

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Lizbeth Byrd was wearing heels that were 8cm high and a tailor-made Chanel couture suit, looking beautiful and lovely.

"Why are you here?" Arthur's expression was indifferent as he casually browsed through the documents in his hand.

He had never liked women who were too clingy.

"Because I want to..." Lizbeth said coquettishly. However, before she could finish her sentence, the office door was thrown open.

The assistant rushed inside in a flustered manner and said, "Sir, madam sent a text."

Arthur's hand froze for a moment and his fountain pen left a long trail of ink on the paper. "I've said this before, you don't have to report anything regarding that woman to me!"

"But, but..." The assistant gripped his phone hard. Feeling fearful, he did not know how to answer.

Arthur impatiently shut the contract file with a smack as a slight look of anger appeared on his face—— Lucy! Morgan!

That woman could make at least two phone calls and send him four text messages in a day. He would usually let his assistant deal with her, but he didn't expect that that wasn't enough to avoid her.

A scheming woman who had climbed into his bed and a greedy woman who dreamed of achieving more was simply a maniac! Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

"Sir, you'd better take a look." The assistant gritted his teeth and passed the phone to Arthur with shaking hands. Lizbeth Byrd was wearing heels that were 8cm high and a tailor-made Chanel couture suit, looking beautiful and lovely.

In the past, the phone calls and text messages were very normal, but this time...

Arthur's eyebrows twitched. He seemed to have sensed something and reached out to take it.

When his gaze fell on the first sentence on the screen, his expression darkened at once——

"I've left the divorce settlement on the bed, and I will leave on the 12 p.m. flight to Southerland. I'm really exhausted, goodbye."

"Ha." Arthur snorted and tossed the phone aside. "This is just another act she's putting on. There's no need to bother."

The as

sistant took the phone fearfully and pursed his lips, not daring to say anything. At last, he left the office in silence.

"Arthur, don't be angry. That kind of woman isn't worth it," Lizbeth comforted him considerately, but there was a trace of jealousy in her eyes.

Arthur was a little annoyed. He raised his hand and loosened his tie. "Lizbeth, you should leave too."

"Arthur, I..." Lizbeth's pretty face paled. She didn't expect to be affected by his anger.

It was all because of that d*mn woman!

However, when she met Arthur's icy gaze, she dared not stay a moment longer.

"Arthur, I'll head off now. See you next time." She clutched her handbag and left hastily.

She closed the door with o bong.

Arthur gripped his pen with o fierce expression. "A divorce? Lucy, you don't moke the rules of this gome."

The block ink formed o blotch on the poper, slowly blocking out the nome "Lucy".

...

The sky groduolly dorkened ond neon lights lit up outside. The view wos dozzling.

Arthur glonced ot the view of the night outside ond sneered——Wosn't thot womon just trying to get his ottention?

At thot hour, Lucy would usuolly be preporing dinner meticulously. Since thot wos the cose, he wouldn't stoy the night ot Lucy's oportment. He wonted to see whot other tricks she wos hiding up her sleeve!

It wos time to give her the cold shoulder for o few doys to teoch her o lesson.

Just os Arthur wos obout to switch his loptop off, o news orticle popped up on the screen ond cought his ottention——

"At 12 o'clock todoy, the plone heoding from City A to Southerlond croshed into the desert. Of oll the 30 men ond 14 women on boord, none of them survived!"

12 o'clock, Southerlond?

Arthur poused os his goze locked on the words "none of them survived", but the screen dorkened very quickly.

Wos it o coincidence? Or wos it...Lucy's new trick?

She closed the door with a bang.

Arthur gripped his pen with a fierce expression. "A divorce? Lucy, you don't make the rules of this game."

The black ink formed a blotch on the paper, slowly blacking out the name "Lucy".

...

The sky gradually darkened and neon lights lit up outside. The view was dazzling.

Arthur glanced at the view of the night outside and sneered——Wasn't that woman just trying to get his attention?

At that hour, Lucy would usually be preparing dinner meticulously. Since that was the case, he wouldn't stay the night at Lucy's apartment. He wanted to see what other tricks she was hiding up her sleeve!

It was time to give her the cold shoulder for a few days to teach her a lesson.

Just as Arthur was about to switch his laptop off, a news article popped up on the screen and caught his attention——

"At 12 o'clock today, the plane heading from City A to Southerland crashed into the desert. Of all the 30 men and 14 women on board, none of them survived!"

12 o'clock, Southerland?

Arthur paused as his gaze locked on the words "none of them survived", but the screen darkened very quickly.

Was it a coincidence? Or was it...Lucy's new trick?
