Chapter 734
Sebastian said, "Yes, she went to see Theodore. Because she went to see him, her condition worsened, and she needed emergency surgery early this morning. Your son, whether as her husband or ex-husband, is nothing but a burden to her."
Sydney didn't want to say more to Sebastian, and ended the call abruptly. Half an hour later, she arrived at the operating room door.
Sebastian stood up when he saw her. "What are you doing here?"
"Rose is like a daughter to me. Of course I have to be here while she's in surgery! Yet, your family doesn't treat her as family. Apart from you, no one else has come."
Sebastian said, "She's my wife. It's enough that I'm here; no one else matters. Besides, her surgery was brought forward, and they didn't know. Blame your son. She went to see him last night and was upset when she came back, needing surgery this morning. Theodore is truly a jinx." Sydney snorted coldly. "Is that so? Since you know she went to see Theo last night, do you know what they talked about?"
"You should ask your son. She went to find him, risking her life, and your son ignored her completely. She could only talk to him through the door. If he has truly cut ties with her, he should do it properly and never see her again. Don't make her suffer anymore."
Sydney frowned. "Theo wouldn't have ignored her, because he wasn't in the ward."
Hearing Sydney's words, Sebastian confirmed his suspicion. Theodore hadn't heard anything Rosalie said.
He had wondered why Theodore didn't respond despite Rose's numerous attempts to talk. He would even risk his life for Rosalie. How could he not react when she went to find him?
It was a relief that Theodore wasn't in the room, so he didn't hear any of Rosalie's words.
'Theodore, even the world is against you. You two aren't destined to be together,' Sebastian thought.
He suppressed his elation, and maintained a calm exterior.
"Is that so? No wonder he didn't respond when Rose talked to him. If he wasn't in the room, where did he go?" he said.
Was Theodore dead? It would be perfect if he was.
Sydney could see the smugness in Sebastian's eyes. "I won't tell you. I'll tell Rose when she comes out."
She didn't trust Sebastian.
"Tell her that Theodore is missing?" Sebastian asked.
Sydney frowned. "I didn't say Theodore is missing. How do you know he's gone?"
"I don't know, but I can guess through your reaction. You originally called Rose to ask if she had seen Theodore, right?"
Sydney crossed her arms. "It's none of your business!"
She had gone to see Theodore this morning, only to find him missing from his ward. When she tried to check the surveillance, she discovered it had been destroyed: She was worried that something had happened to him, and was searching for him everywhere. He had probably been missing since last night.
"How is it not my business? I'm Rose's husband. Your son is just her ex-husband, and he no longer has any relation to her." Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

"She is still a member of the Spencer family after the divorce."
"So what?" Sebastian said. "It doesn't compare to the fact that she is my wife. Can't you Spencers leave her alone? Why does everyone have to harass her?"
