Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 762

Theodore's current state was entirely of his own making. From NôvelDrama.Org.

"Are you cursing me silently, thinking I deserve this?" Given the atmosphere, he could guess what Caleb was thinking.

Caleb scratched his head. "I actually sympathize with you."

"You don't need to sympathize with me. I know I brought this upon myself."

Caleb sighed. "Will you get back up?"

Theodore's gaze shifted to him. After a long pause, he nodded. "I will."

It was good that Rosalie was fine. It was just that she didn't love him anymore. What was the point of wallowing in self-pity here?

Morning sunlight streamed through the window, casting warm rays into the ward. The beams illuminated the bed, bathing the person lying there in a soft glow.

The room was filled with a faint smell of sunshine, making the whole world seem warm at that moment.

Rosalie slowly opened her eyes in the warmth. For a moment, her mind was blank, but soon, vivid memories flooded back.

Her eyes shone with sudden clarity as she reached out to touch her belly.

"Baby... My baby."

Sebastian, who had been dozing in the chair beside her, jolted awake at the sound.

"Rose, you're awake."

She quickly grasped his hand. "Theo, where's my baby?"

Hearing Theodore's name, Sebastian's brow furrowed tightly.

Early in the morning, she had called out Theodore's name, even though it was Sebastian who had stayed by her side throughout the night.

However, Sebastian didn't show any signs of displeasure. Instead, he said gently, "The baby is fine. Both of you are fine."

Hearing that the baby was okay, Rosalie turned to look at the man beside her. She suddenly froze. "Seb, what happened to your face?"

Sebastian had stayed by Rosalie's

bed all night. His face was pale, with deep-set eyes, clearly indicating he hadn't slept much. His face bore two noticeable red and swollen marks, and it was painful just looking at it. His body seemed stiff, as though he had endured some torment.

The sunlight streaming through the window blinded him a little, but he continued to watch Rosalie with a helpless expression that was heart-wrenching.

"I'm fine." Sebastian turned his head. "I just had a minor fall."

Rosalie reached out and gently touched Sebastian's injured face.

The moment she did, Sebastian flinched. He grasped her hand and said, "I'm fine."

"No, you're not fine! Tell me, how did you get hurt? Who hit you?"

The marks on his face were clearly handprints. How could that have been caused by a fall? He was lying!

"Rose, I'm really fine. It's you who had complications during the surgery. It lasted several hours, but in the end, both you and the baby are safe."

Sebastian bent down slightly and

gently stroked her hair, his gazeet

incredibly tender. "It's great that you're okay. It doesn't matter what happens to me."

Tears glistened in Sebastian's eyes.

Rosalie could see the deep sense of grievance in his eyes. She reached out, and lightly touched her rounded belly. Her baby was still here.

Rosalie, feeling distressed, said, "Please don't hide things from me, okay?"
