Chasing My Pregnant Wife

Chapter 799

Sebastian and Rosalie had fixed a date for their departure overseas.

Before going abroad, Sebastian finally managed to acquire Farover Enterprise.

The company wasn't willing to be acquired, but Sebastian used various means, even underhanded ones, to force them to sign the agreement.

What came next was the transfer of shares.

Sebastian had underestimated the abductor indeed. The abductor turned out to be more insidious and devious than he imagined.

Initially, Sebastian had wanted to seize the opportunity to track down the abductor by transferring shares to him.

He didn't expect the abductor to engage an agency to receive the shares. The man had successfully concealed his identity by engaging a third-party agent.

Sebastian was unable to confirm the buyer's true identity, no matter how hard he tried and how many ways he employed.

Continuing to investigate things was only going to be a waste of time and effort.

The abductor didn't even seem to care that Sebastian was trying to track him down. It felt as though he was very confident that Sebastian wouldn't be able to find anything, and he was simply sitting back and enjoying the excitement unfolding before him.

Sebastian realized that was happening, and halted all his efforts.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

Right now, his utmost priority was no longer to investigate the abductor. Finding out the identity of the abductor wasn't necessarily a good thing. The video was still with him, after all.

Going abroad with Rosalie as soon as possible was his priority. He didn't have much time left to waste on this matter.

He was certain that when both of them arrived in another country, things would start looking up.

Everything was going smoothly.

All procedures for going abroad were done and the medical facility in Melrine was prepared for their arrival, too.

They successfully boarded their flight bound for Melrine.

After Sebastian and Rosalie left, everything became quiet.

Over the next week, Rosalie kept in constant contact with Sydney.

Sydney was kept updated of Rosalie's situation, and that they had settled down after arriving at Melrine.

Meanwhile, Sebastian was in the process of receiving treatment. Rosalie was studying a lot as the baby continued growing inside her. Upon seeing everything go so well, Sydney knew her decision was correct. It was right of them to leave.

Back at home, Theodore's presence caused a chasm between Sebastian and Rosalie; no matter how well Sebastian treated Rosalie. Keeping a distance with Theodore made things less complicated between the three of them.

What's more, the medical facility might really help Sebastian regain his memories. Things would certainly look up after Sebastian regains his memories.

"Rose, just stay there with peace of mind. Don't worry about things back at home, I'll be around to take care of things," Sydney said.

"I know, Mom. If anything happens back at home, you'll tell me about it immediately," Rosalie replied.

"Of course, I will. That's it for now, then."

With that, Sydney hung up.

A voice sounded from behind her.

"Mom, are you calling Rose again?"

Theodore thought he heard Rosalie's voice.

Rosalie was stunned for a moment before she turned around, her face now slightly stiff. "Yes. What's the matter?"

Since he said that, he must have heard something.

"Have you been keeping in contact with Rose all along?"

Sydney said with a smile, "Occasionally."

"I heard you telling her to stay there with peace of mind. Where is she right now?" Theodore suddenly had a bad feeling about it.

"Theo," Sydney said cautiously,

"didn't you refuse to see her before?

Why do you care where she is right now? You have to be consistent, and not mercurial. You two are already divorced."

Her words were like a dagger piercing through Theodore's heart. It throbbed with pain.

"I was just asking her whereabouts. I didn't mean anything. Forget it if you don't want to tell me. There's no need to be so aggressive with your words."

Over the past few days, he had a niggling feeling that something was wrong, as if people around him had changed in the way they treated him. Everything had changed ever since Grandma turned senile.

Theodore turned to leave.

Sydney grabbed his arm, feeling a wave of guilt wash over her.

"Wait," she said.
