Devoted Love, Mr. Hayes’ Darling Wife

Chapter 1186: Good Things Are Near (1)

The acacias have grown stronger than when they were transplanted on Villa Moon Lake Road.

In summer, shade shades and completely envelops the yard.

The carved iron swing under the acacia is clean and appears to have been regularly cared for and cleaned.

Micaela sat on the swing and Nico sat on it.

Micaela looked at him, but said nothing.

Nico’s long arms held the seat of the swing with one hand, one long leg hit the ground, his leather shoes stomped on the ground a few times as the swing swung and swung.

Nico rolled his eyes to look at the side of Micaela’s face and asked without evasion, “The little attic in the backyard, I had the workmen redo it again after you left, want to go see it?”

At the mention of the little attic in the backyard, Micaela’s eyes gave a different look.

Nico took her hand between his and said with a smile, “It’s certainly not being restored to hold you prisoner again. I’ve done things so bad that even I can’t help slapping myself, but that restored loft did ‘imprison’ me for two years.”

Micaela was slightly puzzled.

Nico stood up and said, “Come, let’s show you around.”

Micaela didn’t refuse and followed Nico into the backyard.

The outside walls of the small backyard dormer had been given a new look, with new paint for the walls, and no sign of the original burn.

Micaela climbed the wooden ladder and Nico followed her, “I slept here almost every night when you first left, trying to get you into my dreams, to take care of me. I thought to myself, ‘How cruel of you to leave and not even let me dream.

Climbing the stairs, Nico opened the door and Micaela entered the small attic.

She saw the cut glass of the window, smiled warmly and said, “Actually, there’s something I haven’t told you. That Christmas Eve three years ago, you wrote in your diary that you had lit fireworks for me downstairs all night, and I actually sat here and waited for you all night.”

Nico vibrated in his heart and looked at her with deep, soulful eyes.

Micaela wandered through the small loft and found a torn piece of paper on a desk in the loft.

Before she could read what was written on the paper, Nico had rushed forward even faster, snatching the paper from behind her back with a quick glance and catching it in a ball with his large hands.

I don’t want Micaela to see me.

But the more he hid it, the more interested Micaela became.

Micaela approached him, “What is that?”.

“Nothing, it’s just a piece of paper.” Nico’s look made it clear that there was no silver lining here.

Micaela asked him insistently with an open hand, “I’ve seen what’s written on it, your handwriting.”

“It’s really nothing…”

Nico sighed helplessly. He could just write in his own diary on those lonely, lost days, and it would be embarrassing to show it to him, or to read it in front of him.

He had never been a man of pretensions, coming across as matronly and effeminate.

“Nico, if you don’t show me, I’ll leave.”

Micaela makes a move to leave.

Nico grabbed her arm with one hand, “Don’t.”

“So, will you give a look or not?”

“No…”

Before Nico could say no, Micaela was already leaning toward his back, taking the paper ball from his hand.

Nico took a step back, caught off guard for a moment, and they both fell backwards and forwards, landing on the couch at the same time.

Nico dropped onto the couch and Micaela fell into his arms.

Four eyes faced each other.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Nico’s eyes held a smirk as he took the paper ball in one hand and wrapped his arm around her back, mockingly telling her, “I told you before that I would have let you pounce if I had told you this was what you were looking for.”

Micaela gave him a bandit look and made a move to grab the paper ball in his other hand, but Nico’s arms were long and when he raised them to dodge, Micaela was no match for him.

“Nico!”

Nico smirked and pursed his lips, “Forget it, I won’t tease the lady. Since the lady wants to see it, I’ll give her my old face anyway. Just don’t cry when you see it.”

Nico handed her the ball of paper he was holding, “Here, it’s yours.”

Micaela looked at him, took the ball of paper from his palm, unwrapped it and smoothed out the tangled folds.

There are few words on it, but the words are profound.

This is the last page of Nico’s diary that was torn out.

Also a recent entry from the day.

She wrote the night she thought she was going to marry Dario.

“This is our tenth year, and I will always, always love you, fruitlessly.”

It was like saying it to Micaela, but it was also like Nico saying it to himself.

Micaela looked at those lines and her expression and eyes stopped, only to stare in wonder at the words on the page.

Gradually, the circles in my eyes soured.

My heart, blocked.

Nico raised a hand to scratch his brow bone, slightly puzzled, “I shouldn’t have shown it to you.”

Nico cupped her face, pressed it against his chest and stroked her long hair.

Micaela asked against his chest, “Why did you keep loving when you thought I was going to marry Dario, I remember you told me the day of the divorce breakup that you were going to quit smoking and that you were going to leave me just like you quit smoking. So it was all a lie to me?”

“Quitting smoking is fine, but quitting, or forgetting, will kill you.”

Micaela’s lips let out a slow laugh, “Love even when it doesn’t work?”

Nico looked at the spider above his head and said in a very faint but firm voice, “Well, I love you and I love that you’re useless too.”

Micaela let out a laugh at his comment.

“Is that funny?” Someone’s face looked at her with unmistakable seriousness.

Micaela bit her lip and stifled a laugh, “It’s not funny.”

Micaela looked at him, watched, and her eyes suddenly landed on his thin lips.

“Nico.”

She suddenly called out to him.

Nico sat up slightly and Micaela made a small movement to pounce on him, wrapping her arms around his neck and lowering her head, kissing him on the lips.

The kiss was emotional and prolonged.

Nico was slightly taken aback, not expecting her to suddenly take the initiative.

After the kiss, Nico shamelessly reminisced about how surprisingly good it felt to be pushed every now and then.

Nico’s dark eyes seared her, “What does that mean, ma’am, I really don’t understand.”

Setting.

Keep loading.

Micaela stood up and ignored him, “If you don’t understand, forget it, I just want to eat tofu, I don’t want anything. It’s just human nature that attracts me to men. ”

Nico couldn’t let her get away with it, and with a lopsided grin he reached out and pulled her hand back.

“I’m a bit of a purist, I’m responsible for kissing.”

“…”

What part of him is “pure”?

Don’t be cheeky.

Nico hugged her and said, “Consider that now as a seal, you can’t disown me now that I’m yours anyway.”

“You could be a little more brazen.”

Nico’s eyes darkened and he slammed Micaela against the wall, his voice fell low and lovely in her ear, “Since Mistress has asked me to be more shameless, I will respectfully comply.”

“…” When did she ask you to be more shameless?

“Well…”

Nico kissed as he bent down, picked up Micaela in a horizontal embrace and escorted her to the clean cot.

I love it.

Nico is very dominant and not very tactful.

And yet, full of deep emotion.

He took her hand between his and pressed it against the light-colored sheets, fingers clasped tightly together, fingertips all warm and tousled.

Nico’s rolling breath, falling over her ear, said in a muted voice deep in her ear, “Three years, Micaela, and at last you’re mine again …”.
