Chapter 907 Drawing down the Curtain

Chapter 907 Drawing down the Curtain

As Rowen was still suffering from the shock out of the failure of his malicious attempt, Connor, seeing

all this, was almost possessed by fury burning inside of him. He glared at Rowen and said to him in a

warning tone, "You'd better give us a proper explanation for that, Rowen."

With his gaze shifted from his hands towards Connor, Rowen grinned and answered, "Why should I?

Stay out of my business, or you would know how it feels standing in the middle of my path!"

"I have to remind you that you're stepping on the land of others." Connor leant forwards and supported

his chin with the back of his hands, "Maybe what you said is truly high above anything in W City, while All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

you need to recognize that respect and proper manner are the basis when you are a guest." He

cherished Maximilian as one of his most trusted companions, and thus would not bear to see anyone

try any despicable attempt on him, even for those who were as powerful and influential as Rowen.

Though inside of him Rowen was ignited and about to burst into anger, he calmed himself down and

tried to be self-restrained since he understood that the place here was under others' control, not him.

"Well, all of this is a misunderstanding since the ring is supposed to be on the other hand of mine.

Please forgive my carelessness, gentlemen." Said Rowen, staring at the two standing in front with his

brow furrowed and cheeks strained. For him, this was the biggest concession he could ever make at

any other place except W City.

Connor slightly upturned his face with sharp eyes still fixed on Rowen and said coldly, "Save it, Rowen.

There must be some other reasons you come to my city besides participating in some sorts of stupid

auctions, and I want to know why."

"Well." Rowen staring at Connor with his the corners of his mouth lifted a little, "I came here for

business, a real and profitable enough business, with you, Boss Davies. Shall we talk about it later?"

The experience dealing with Rowen for years told Connor that the business which Rowen had

mentioned could by no means be mutual benefit. Noticing that the crowds around made it hard to talk

about the business, Connor and Rowen made eye contact with each other and started to change their

topics.

For Maximilian, who sat between Connor and Rowen and pondered everything about the Hardy

Ganoderma which could save the life of Victoria's grandpa, he thought that it was waste of time to play

gazing game with Rowen and wished to get what he wanted as soon as possible.

At this moment, a beautiful young lady dressed in cheongsam stepped out of the backstage and slowly

went up to the stage. The illumination of the spotlights behind and above had perfectly drawn the

outline of the shape of her fascinating figure, which was so charming that it drew the attention of almost

every gentlemen at presence including Maximilian.

Maximilian sighed for the beauty of this lady and shifted his eyesight to elsewhere afterwards,

accidentally finding that Rowen sitting aside was having his creepy eyes fixed on the figure of the lady

on-stage and shedding saliva from his mouth.

As Maximilian was groaning inside for the disgracefulness of Rowen, Connor clicked his tongue and

sighed, "Well, it was surprising to see Arthur send his daughter to take charge of this auction."

As the voice of Connor faded, Rowen turned to him immediately and asked excitedly, "You know who

that girl is?'

For Connor, he knew it was clear that in the head of Rowen there was nothing but despicable

imagination about the lady. He then pinched in the middle between his brows, closed his eyes and said,

"Damn it! What am I just talking about? There is no way that this girl is the girl."

Rowen seemed unpleasant to hear that since he knew that Connor just didn't want to share with him

anything about the lady.

Maximilian, sitting aside and listening to the description of Cassius, figured out that the lady on-stage

was exactly the daughter of Arthur, the chairman of this auction.

Unfortunately, the words had also slipped into the ears of Rowen. He then made up his mind that no

matter what approaches he was going to resort to, he was going to take that lady away.

The first half of the auction was about to come to an end. With a hammer in her hands, Arthur's

daughter did well during the process of the auction, and successfully clinched many deals.

Maximilian took a glance at the curios exhibiting, and found that even the worst of them could be the

most eye-catching item on any other auction in H city, which made him sigh again for the pomp and

grandeur of the auction.
