I put down the documents on my desk and turned to face my wife, who was sitting on the sofa in my office reading a book; I couldn’t afford to lose sight of her, so I brought her here.

Despite the fact that she was wearing spectacles, she grimaced as she read her book.

“How can she be so cute when she’s just reading a book?” I wondered aloud as I rested my palms on my chin and gazed at her.

“Sir, they need your presence at the conference room because something came up about the management team’s loss profit,” she explained formally.

I signaled for her to come out since I’d be right behind her. She came out right away. So I approached my wife who was still reading. I spoke to her as I neared her side while standing.

“Wife, stay here for a while, I just need to fix something, I’ll be right back,” I explained. “Don’t go out in my office, understand?” I bent down to kiss her on the forehead after she nodded and returned to her reading. And I walked out of my office to go to the meeting room.

My smartphone rang on the table of the sofa I was sitting on as Vladimir stepped out of the office.

I put down what I was reading and turned to see who was on the other end of the line. It was an unknown call when I looked. I replied without saying anything.

“Hello, Y-za Bella Mondragon, Elias Fernando Mondragon’s daughter,” said the other line, and I answered it with interest.
