Enchanted Nightfall: Falling for Destiny

Chapter 333

Upon arriving at the Golden Harvest, Tyrone wrapped his arm around Quintessa's waist and pushed open the door to the private dining room where Mrs. York was. The moment the door opened, everyone inside turned to look in their direction. Tyrone's initial smile faded upon seeing the guests inside.

He removed his glasses, "Mom, what's all this about?"

Mrs. York immediately feigned surprise, "Ty, you're here, oh you brought Quinn too, perfect. I was just thinking of her. Quinn, come and sit by me."

Mrs. York warmly gestured for Quintessa to take a seat next to her.

Quintessa felt puzzled, as Mrs. York had specifically asked Tyrone to bring her along, yet now acted as if it was unplanned. This dinner wasn't as simple as it seemed. Quintessa smiled and walked over to sit next to Mrs. York.

Mrs. York, taking Quintessa by the arm, smiled, "Susan and I went shopping today. She was so kind, insisting on thanking us for taking care of Serena while she was in Zion City, so, here we are, having dinner together."

Tyrone smiled knowingly, "Since when has Susan been so courteous?"

There were four people in the room: Mrs. York, Serena and her mother, and one unknown individual.

Mrs. Harrington, known for her pride due to her family background, appeared cordial in her interactions but seldom respected anyone else.

Mrs. Harrington smiled gracefully, "It's only proper to express thanks; it's an essential courtesy."

Her gaze then swept over Quintessa, "And now that Ms. Young is here, it's a good opportunity to thank her too. Serena mentioned how kind Ms. Young was to her during those few days." Quintessa offered a modest smile, "It's nothing."

Serena waved at the two, "I didn't expect Ty and Quinn to be here. Let me introduce you, this is my cousin Nydia. She's incredibly talented. She just won second place in an international fashion design contest and now works for DY as a

womenswear designer." Content The elegant woman seated next to Serena, embodying both intelligence and style with her fashionable glasses, greeted them with a perfect smile, "Pleased to meet you, I'm Nydia." Mrs. Harrington, playfully chiding Serena, chuckled, "Silly girl, what do you know? Your cousin and Ms. Young are not in the same league."Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

To put it nicely, one lives off her looks, the other off her talent.

To put it bluntly, one sells looks, the other her abilities.

In any case, the latter is considered respectable, while the former is looked down upon.

Both Tyrone and Mrs. York's faces soured at the comment. Quintessa laughed; Mrs. Harrington had smiled so warmly and kindly, yet her words were sharp and cutting, the typical sort who could only feel superior by stepping on others.

Realizing her faux pas, Mrs. Harrington quickly tried to amend

"I'm sorry, that came out wrong. I didn't mean that. What I meant was they're in different fields."

Before Quintessa could respond,

Mrs. York chimed in with a gleeful retort, "Who says so? There are beauty contests all over the world for a reason-looks matter. Talent can be cultivated if you're not a fool, but good looks not everyone is born with them. I didn't mean your niece isn't beautiful; what I meant is, our Quinn is exceptionally beautiful."
