Chapter 374
She felt more at ease now, with a look of reliance on Tyrone in her eyes.
Alexander closed his eyes; he felt a chill run through his head and his eyes were aching painfully.
Before he found Quintessa, she was his whole motivation and hope. But upon finding her, he felt as if he had lost himself entirely!
Being hospitalized meant that they had to inform their family, or else, what would they have for dinner?
When Mrs. York received the call, she nearly had a heart attack from the shock and hurried over with meals in hand.
As she entered the ward and saw Quintessa and Tyrone, she had her eyes welled up, "You kids, why do you have to worry me so much? It's only been a short while, and both of you are in the hospital. How bad are the injuries?" Before she could finish, she noticed Alexander on another bed and paused, "Oh? Three of you?"
Alexander got up and said, "Cecilia."
Mrs. York awkwardly looked at the food she brought: "Look, I only brought food for two."
Alexander quickly said, "Don't worry, my mom will be here soon."
"Oh, in that case, you wait for them."Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Mrs. York lightly tapped Tyrone on the shoulder, "I'm talking to you two, eat up first. Can mushy love feed you? Finish your meal and then you can be all lovey-dovey."
Tyrone couldn't help but want to laugh. Mushy love, that phrase sounded like it was deliberately mentioned. He glanced at Alexander and provocatively wrapped his arm around Quintessa's waist. Quintessa said, "We're fine; it's just some superficial injuries."
Mrs. York fretted over Quintessa's face, "Let me look at that face.ĕ You're actors, and your face is so important. But don't worry, even if there are scars, don't be afraid. I've got a miracle cure for scars."
Quintessa nodded, "Yeah, sure."
"Eat up."
Before they were halfway through their meal, Mrs. Harrington and Serena rushed in, panic-stricken.
Mrs. Harrington's face fell a bit upon seeing Mrs. York, but she quickly smiled and greeted Mrs. York and Tyrone, blatantly ignoring Quintessa.
Serena cried as she hugged Alexander's arm, "Brother, how are you? I heard you were injured and hospitalized, which nearly scared mom and me to death. How could you be so careless?" "It's nothing, just some minor injuries."
Mrs. Harrington coldly lectured, "You're just too kind-hearted. Even when saving someone, you should first asses's if they're worth saving. Don't just rashly save any Tom Dick, or Harry. Why risk your life for a piece of trash?"
Alexander immediately retorted angrily, "Mom, stop it."
With a "snap", the fork in Tyrone's hand broke, and his eyes were filled with fury.
Quintessa slowly sipped her chicken soup, as if she hadn't heard a thing.
Mrs. York glared at them both, signaling them to continue eating. This wasn't their fight to join. She was standing right there, and she wouldn't let Mrs. Harrington bully them.
Mrs. York stood up, letting out a
forced laugh, "Mrs. Harrington is right, I really do understand. Not just any old rubbish is worth saving. One mistake made as a child was
saving a wretch. Now, I have tol.ne
listen to her nagging. If I had known what a vile creature she was, I would have just let her die. It would save me from her constant annoyance. Just seeing her makes me sick."
