The following days were like heaven for the newlyweds. They spent most of their time cuddling and making each other feel special.

Matthew asked for a few days’ leave from work to spend time with Aleia. Aleia was so happy that she could not ask for more. It was the life she dreamed of ever since she met him.

Aleia covered her face with one of her hands. Matthew was sitting on the edge of the bed. His face was so radiant. He was still on his boxer and still topless – she could not help but adore his godly features.

“Morning, wife,” he bent down and kissed her forehead. She smiled and closed her eyes, still savoring the moment. She got up so fast only to see her body still naked. She forgot to put on her dress after another ecstatic ride of their lives last night.

She blushed and grabbed the blanket to cover her nudity while Matthew was laughing sexily. He picked up the dress that was scattered on the floor and gave it to her.

Aleia heard his footsteps and she waited for a few minutes before she got out of hiding. Yes, they did it many times already. But she is shy to talk about it.

The table was already set when she went to the kitchen. Matthew was smiling and was waiting for her.

“I’m supposed to do this,” she said as she sat down in front of him.

“No problem. I feel like serving you as my queen. So let’s eat.” She nodded and they started to eat. “So what’s your plan now?” he asked.

“Mmm. What plan?” Aleia asked back.

“What do you want to do? Do you want to be a full-time housewife or pursue something?” he responded.

“I still don’t know. Sorry about that,” she said sadly.

“You don’t have to be sorry for that. You have lived a life so different from this and you have gotten used to it.” He smiled and placed his hand above hers. Aleia was delighted with her actions. This is the man that she used to love. He is back for real.

“You don’t want to work in KTI? I can find a place for you so that you won’t be bored here. Or if you have something in mind, let me know,” he said and sipped his coffee.

“Is it okay if I work there? It would create some gossip.”

Matthew laughed softly.” Gossip? They won’t dare to do that to my wife or else they would lose their job. How about working in your father’s company?”

She sighed. “That would be more terrible. I don’t want to ignite the fire between us. They can have it all if they want.”

“But you are his daughter and you have every right, Ale.”

Aleia bit her lip. “I’ve been living away from them since I finished college. I want peace and I just want to live a simple life, Zach. I don’t need any of his wealth. You are enough for me. You’re all I need, “she whispered with her eyes on the glass of water that she was holding.

She was not ready to see his reaction in case he heard it. It is enough that they are doing well and they are trying to live like a normal couple. She won’t ask for more than that for now.

She looked up when she heard him sigh.” We had a good start, Ale. We just got a little twist in the middle. But I hope we can fix it. I had some trust issues with women before. “I don’t think so, Zach. I was in love with you at a very young age without knowing who you were at that time. Why would I chase you for money?” she answered while looking at him. She saw him smile.

Aleia leaned back in the chair as if she was trying to recall a very crucial chapter of her life. She told him everything. From the very start- where they transferred to the province until her mom died. In the part where her dad took her back to the city and she was shocked to meet his new family.

She was not able to control her tears. She wiped it up right away. They all thought she was okay but deep inside she is not. The pain was just hidden beneath.

“He married someone else while you were in the province?” Zach asked for confirmation.

She nodded. “I had a hard time accepting that he was happy while my mom was dying slowly day by day. It would be easier to accept if we were okay. But we were not. I saw how my mom suffered without him.” She sobbed and cried hard. Finally, she has let go of that burden she carried for how many years?

Zach stood up to comfort her. “Sorry about that.”

She looked up to him and said, ” Zach we wed not because of love. But if one day, you’ll find that woman that you will truly love- please tell me directly. Although, it will break me. But it would be better than to live in lies.”

Zach knelt to meet her eyes and cupped her face. ” Who told you that I don’t love you, sweetheart? I love you, my wife. The fact that I’m making you a part of my life is proof of my love. Do not overthink, okay, “he said sweetly and planted a soft kiss on her lips.

It was the best day for Aleia after her husband confessed her feelings to her. She thought his arms would be the safest place for her.

“I don’t want our children in the future to live a life like mine, Zach. I don’t know If I can take it,” she said with tears in her eyes.

“We will do everything to keep this marriage working. It won’t be easy but we will do it together.” He gave her a tight hug and then they continued to eat.

“Yana, my wife will come with me to the office, later. I’ll give her a tour and maybe if she wants to work with us,” Zach said to the other line.

He called her in advance about his plan. Aleia was still having a hard time choosing corporate attire for her first day of visit to KTI.”

“Sweetheart, just wear something that you are comfortable with. We will just buy some later,” he said while looking at her who can’t decide what to wear.

“Sir, is it a good time?” Yana asked.

” Why? What’s wrong?” Zach asked. His eyes are still on Aleia.

“Miss Aleia’s father and sister are here. They are waiting for you.”

Aleia just smiled at her. Though she heard him talking to his secretary. But she saw how his facial expressions changed while he took secret glances at her.
