Danica didn't respond, which only infuriated Theo.

Her patience stretched out thin after their divorce that she could dare not to answer.

Theo fumed in anger.

'Did she lack even the most basic manners?’ She even pretended they didn't know each other and they never got married and divorced.

Wasn't she afraid that he could make things harder for her? With his power and status, he could make it difficult for her to establish a foothold in this city.

Theo heaved a deep breath.

As expected, she was the type of person who had never worked hard in society and couldn't even understand the fundamentals of workplace survival.

With her personality, she would have to put up with a lot of work.

If Theo did that, she would cry and bemoan the loss of her position as Mrs.Dalton.

He had given her everything except for love.

Bitterness and resentment spiked in his heart that he stepped on the accelerator harder.

Danica observed the sudden increase in speed, and she reminded him, "Sir Dalton, we might have an accident if you kept driving that fast* Danica's reminder calmed Theo a little, and he slowed down.His nostrils flared, and he asked, "Are you afraid of death?"

"Even a wealthy man like you isn't afraid of death, why should I? What do I have to be afraid of? But it is not appropriate for you to die alongside me.Isn't it more meaningful to die with the person you love the most?"

Her words ignited the anger that Theo had suppressed with incredible difficulty.

He would have told her to get out of the car if it hadn't been for her injury.

They arrived at the hospital angry at each other.

Theo led Danica straight to Felix's office.

Felix Snyder was Theo's friend and a well-known surgeon.

"Danica?" Felix exclaimed in a startled voice.

Felix and Patrick both knew about Theo and Danica’'s past.

But he was startled when he saw them outside his office even after their divorce.

Danica got straight to the point and said, "Please check and let me know if there is something wrong with my arm.Someone splashed boiling coffee on it"

Felix went back to his senses and hurriedly replied, "Yes, I will take care of it.Felix took Danica’s wrist and carefully examined the burnt part.”

"It's not a big problem.Fortunately, the coffee had cooled down a bit, so it won't leave a scar.However, it will be painfully reddish for a few days.I'll give you some ointment to rub on it and to alleviate the pain."

Felix was a professional doctor.

Danica bobbed her head and responded, "Okay, thank you."

She stood after receiving the ointment and decided to leave, ignoring Theo who was standing on the side.She did, however, come to a halt after taking one step.She thought for a moment and then took out one hundred bills from her bag.She walked to Theo and stuffed the money into his pocket.

Danica ignored Felix's shocked expression and turned to leave.

Danica was well aware that Theo would refuse her money, so she simply slipped it into his pocket and settled the matter.

She didn't want to owe him anything at all.

Felix blinked his eyes, completely dazed by what had just happened between the two.

Danica had changed after she went abroad for a year.She was so distant and cold that Felix thought he didn't know her anymore.
