Chapter 26: She Didn't Deserve It 

"What did you say? Your brother helped Danica?" Venice asked, reconfirming if she heard it right.

Her face was still filled with disbelief.She knew how Theo ignored Danica during their three years of marriage.She had also witnessed how Danica humiliated Theo in front of many guests during the Daltons’ company anniversary.

The fact that Danica did that, Theo must have hated her which was why she couldn't believe what Thalia said.

‘I must have heard it wrong! How could Theo help Danica when he didn't even care about her before?’ She tried to convince herself.

It was just too impossible that Venice could not really believe it.

"Yeah” Thalia confirmed, and while crying, she told Venice about all her grudges against Danica.

Thalia's frustrations shifted to her brother, and she complained about how mad she was at him.

"How could my brother do this to me? He had already divorced Danica, but why does he still help her as if he was concerned about her?"

Thalia only cared about her own feelings.

"Thalia, your brother might not really be concerned about her.Maybe you just misunderstood his actions."

"Think about it.When they were still together, did your brother even care for her? Or did he even protect her?" Venice added.

"Your brother was just protecting you and your family's reputation.If he didn't scold you, everyone will think that he didn't know how to discipline you, right? He just did that to clean up your mess."

Venice seemed to be comforting Thalia, but she was actually mocking her for making a mess and asking Theo's help, which prompted Theo to act kindly in front of Danica.
