Chapter 485: Where Are You Going?
In case Fannie reported it to Ethan again, Kylie decided to keep it a secret from her. “Fannie, Ms. Green, and I will shop together later. You can go back home before me.”
“Really? Where are you going? I can drive you there.” Ever since what had happened at the dock, Nate emphasized that Fannie should stay by Kylie’s side no matter what happened.
“Ms. Green has a chauffeur, and we’ll be home soon after.” Kylie patted her shoulder. “Nate wasn’t home last night, right? You can go home earlier today to keep his company.”
“He isn’t as important as you.” Fannie refused to leave.
“Well, the thing is Ms. Green…” Kylie quietly pointed at Kate, who talked with the director, “hopes to have a private talk with me.”
“Oh, I understand.” Fannie smiled. “Why didn’t you tell me just then? Be careful. Bye.”
“Safe driving, bye-bye.” Kylie waved her hand at Fannie, then walked to Kate. “Ms. Green, can I talk to you in private?”
“What’s wrong? Are there any problems with the script?” Kate followed Kylie walking to a quieter place.
Kylie shook her head. “The script is fine, but I think someone is stalking me these days.”
“What?” Kate raised her voice all of a sudden, then kept her voice down. “Do you need me to call the police?”
“No, I feel like he’s my fan.” She held Kate’s hand. “I told my agent to drive away before me to attract his attention. Can I sit with you when we leave here?”
“Of course you can.” Kate made a hand gesture, and her assistant walked over. “Bring Miss Finch in my car.”
Actually, Fannie didn’t leave the set.
She was determined to follow Kylie. Since Kate wanted to keep the talk private, she could keep a distance away from them.
Before long, she saw Kate’s nanny van moving out of the set and followed it up without delay.
Kate’s car drove straight ahead to the most bustling commercial area of Seattle, then entered an underground parking lot.
Fannie wasn’t a VIP member of this place, so her car was forbidden to move inside. She could only wait at the roadside. It seemed there was no vacant parking spot, and the nanny van soon drove outside.
“Great!” Fannie started her car and followed up again.
When Fannie’s car was far away, Kylie walked out of the parking lot from another side. She pushed her sunglasses up a little, then walked to the other side of the road.
The law firm where she was going to meet Stephen was very near from here.
“Kylie, you’re late.” Stephen guided her to a VIP lounge.
“I’m sorry. The shooting lasted long.” Kylie put her sunglasses back into her bag. “What has happened?”
Stephen pushed the document in the front of Kylie. “Have a look at yourself. I just got the notification from the lawyer yesterday.”
Kylie didn’t understand the specific terms, but she saw Agnes’s name clearly written at the bottom of the last page. Agnes was the equities transferor.
“Um, these should be the property shared by the husband and wife. Can Agnes unilaterally transfer it?” Kylie asked.
Stephen was struck dumb for a second. He didn’t expect Kylie would know that. He glanced at a staff member, and the staff member served Kylie a glass of water. “Miss Finch, please.”
“Thanks.” Kylie smiled, then had a drink.
She indeed was a little thirsty. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
“I don’t know whether Adolph is aware of it or not, but it is legal now,” Stephen said. “Now, I give all of them to you, and they’re all returned to Ethan too.”
Kylie nodded, then thought of Dinah all of a sudden. “Dinah is back. Do you know that?”
“Yeah,” Stephen said. “She went to share coffee with my adoptive mother yesterday.”
“Agnes?” Kylie was nervous.
She was surprised to know that the last person who met Dinah was Agnes. However, Agnes alone wasn’t able to abduct Dinah, unless Dinah was willing to stay herself.
“Well.” Stephen wore a wry smile. “You probably haven’t heard of it yet. Dinah signed an agreement with my adoptive mother. If she can be pregnant with my baby, Agnes will give her seven million dollars.”
“What?” Kylie was confused.
She was the one who had deceived Agnes into believing that Dinah was pregnant. Dinah just married into the Cecil family. How come she signed an agreement with Agnes in order to get seven million dollars?
Is it a lie made up by Dinah to stay by Stephen’s side?
Thinking of that, Kylie smiled. “Didn’t you say these all belong to Ethan? You can let Dinah be pregnant as soon as possible with his money.”
Stephen remained silent for a while, then suddenly smiled too. “It sounds like I’m taking advantage of Ethan.”
“Ha-ha.” Kylie laughed a little. All of a sudden, she felt dizzy, but she soon was fine after blinking with force.
“Are you alright?” Stephen asked at once.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I just didn’t sleep well last night,” Kylie said.
“Sign your name here.” Stephen gave Kylie a pen and pointed at a space of the document.
“Are these all mine once I sign my name?” Kylie still had doubts.
“Of course, yes. They’ll all be yours.” Stephen beamed.
Kylie then wrote her name down and gave the document back to Stephen to let him check again.
Stephen checked it, then said to a staff member, “Tell Lawyer Ward to come here.”
Before long, a woman in a black suit walked out and read through the document. Afterward, she told Kylie and Stephen to show her their ID information.
“Great, this document will become effective after 24 hours,” Lawyer Ward said with a smile.
“Thanks.” Stephen stood up.
“Stephen, I haven’t seen Dinah for a long time.” Kylie stood up as well. “Is she home?”
Stephen shook his head. “No idea, but I can call my mother.”
Kylie couldn’t hear their talk on the phone but just saw Stephen nodding a few times before he hung up.
“My mother told me, Dinah, already left. She should be home now.” Stephen smiled. “Garbo Palace No. 1 is still what it is after you moved out. Wanna have a seat there?”
“Sure!” Kylie agreed without thinking further, as long as she could see Dinah.
The moment Kylie got in Stephen’s car, she fell asleep. Stephen put the warm wind on and drove steadily.
Unfortunately, it was rush hour when they were on the road, so it took a long time for them to go back to Garbo Palace No. 1 from the center of the city.
Kylie felt someone lightly pushing her shoulder. “Kylie? Kylie, we’ve arrived. Wake up.”
Kylie rubbed her eyes and sat up. Looking at the familiar house, she stretched her arms and got out of the car. “It indeed is still the same!”
“It’s different.” Stephen locked his car, then walked to stand by Kylie’s side. It seemed he was talking to himself. “Its female owner is different.”
