Chapter 488: Why Did You Do That?
Stephen’s eyes became gentle, and his big palm fell on Kylie’s shoulder.
She thought Stephen would support her up, but he reached his hand out to her waist. “It’s fine. I can help you relax it.”
Kylie was in a strange position right now. She was forced to lean on Stephen’s chest.
Since she couldn’t escape, she must figure out a way to get some useful information from Stephen’s mouth.
“Star?” Kylie looked at him. “Why did you do that?”
It seemed Stephen didn’t bother to keep any secrets from Kylie. He wasn’t worried that she would leak any secret information out at all.
“Do you mean the magical pill?” Stephen sounded proud. “It began as a chemistry test, but it turned out to be absurdly profitable.”
“I don’t think you did that for money. You already transferred the shares of Empire Hotel to me.” Kylie stared at Stephen’s eyes, trying to find out more. “You must do that for a reason.”
Probably because Kylie’s understanding touched Stephen, he supported her up and faced her.
“Money is the base of everything in this world. Without money, I can’t own a factory and hire a bunch of people to help me do my tests.”
“Without tests, I can’t make the magical pill.”
“Without everything I own now, I can’t take revenge for my mother!” Stephen looked at Kylie with his eyes full of love. “Kylie, it’ll all belong to you in the future.”
“I don’t want it,” Kylie said without thinking about it at all.
Stephen was struck dumb for a second, then asked, “What do you want?”
“Confess to your crimes,” Kylie said with determination. “People make mistakes, and you still have a chance to correct those you’ve made. No matter what, we can still be friends.”
Stephen let Kylie go, then stood up. He moved a circle at the same position, then laughed out loud.
“Kylie, do you think I’m Ken or Aiden?” Stephen walked to the back of the sofa with his arms pressed against it. He approached Kylie’s ears. “I will win, and I’ve built an empire to serve you.”
Afterward, he straightened his body and showed his wealth off. “Ethan can give you an island, so can I. There is an undeveloped diamond mountain on my island.”
Kylie was too shocked to say a word now. To her astonishment, Stephen had schemed everything!
Her heart was pounding with anxiety, and heard him continuing, “His film company doesn’t help you, I will. I promise I’ll help you become the most successful actress around the world!”
Kylie couldn’t help but cry and slowly shook her head.
Stephen looked gentle but was more unreasonable than Ethan.
He firmly believed that what he could offer was what Kylie wanted.
“Stephen, I thought you understood me the most, but I’m wrong,” Kylie whimpered.
Stephen frowned, seeing her crying.
He got nervous but refused to show it on his face. “Why?”
Kylie shook her head. “I love acting only because I can experience all kinds of roles. I want to win prizes only because I can prove my ability by that.”
“I love Ethan, not because he’s rich and powerful. I love Coco Resort, not because it’s priceless!” Her cheeks were all wet with tears, and her lips trembled a little before she opened her mouth again.
“I want to fight for what I want myself. I enjoy the process and the progress I make. I want to be treated with sincerity.”
“I want everything to happen in a natural way, but not under force and violence!”
Even if she was offered an empire, she could still feel unhappy if it wasn’t the life she wanted.
Hearing that, Stephen had a strong sense of failure. He squinted but said nothing.
Kylie had been in a tense atmosphere for a long time and now looked exhausted after venting her negative emotions.
Stephen gently carried her in his arms. “Have some sleep in the room.” Kylie didn’t struggle at all because she knew it was useless. She lay in the familiar room and was surprised to find it was spotless.
Stephen went back to the living hall and drank up the glass of cold water.
He had a long breath out, then removed the sofa cushions.
Dinah’s face was pale, and sweat dampened her hair in the groove under the cushions. When there was light in her sight, she squinted, looking over.
Stephen lowered his upper body and tore the tape off Dinah’s mouth. He sneered, “Did you hear everything?”
Dinah breathed in a large mouthful of fresh air before she snorted with disdain. “Stephen, you’re as dumb as me.”
“No, no, no.” Stephen shook a finger before her face. “You’ll lose everything while I’ll get the woman I want.”
Dinah wanted to repeat something but had a sudden stomach ache. “Y-You’re digging your own grave!”
Stephen wore a creepy smile. “Really? I’m afraid the bastard in your belly will be buried nowhere.”
“What?” Dinah was scared. She wanted to yell for help, but her throat was too hoarse even to talk.
“Let’s go now!” Stephen hugged Dinah out, then walked straight to the lab.
The housekeeper walked out later and put the sofa back to its normal condition before he disappeared again.
Cold metal equipment went deep down into Dinah’s body. It was so painful that she wanted to curl up, but her legs were tightly fastened to the delivery bed.
“This is your baby.” Dinah burst into tears. “You love Kylie and the babies in her belly too, but they’re Ethan’s kids!”
“This baby in my belly is yours, Stephen!”
Stephen had a medical mask on his face, and only his eyes were bare in the air. He adjusted the lights, then kept on doing the operation.
“No!” Dinah yelled under the excruciating torture. “D-Don’t.”
Warm liquid flew out of her body a while later. It took Dinah’s only hope, along with her soul, away.
She wanted to escape right now, but she’s too exhausted to use all her inner power. She hoped the moon goddess could bring her away with her aborted baby to the sanctuary of their clan.
All of a sudden, a loud sound sounded in the passage.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
Stephen dumped the forceps, then pushed the door open, walking out.
Right when Dinah was about to fall unconscious, she heard a familiar voice. “Dinah?”
Dinah did her best to open her eyes, and Kylie’s worried face showed in her sight.
“What is happening here?” Kylie didn’t know what to do, looking at the flowing blood under Dinah’s body.
“H-Help me.” The only warm things on Dinah’s body now were her tears.
Stephen ran into the housekeeper in the living room. The housekeeper rubbed his palms against each other with anxiety. “Lord Stephen, Kylie escaped.”
By a clear sound, a slap fell on the housekeeper’s face.
