Kai was aware of how controlling Skylar's fans could be, for he heard how they threatened to leave the

fandom after somebody secretly took a photo of her in a pharmacy.

Noticing that the camera was pointed at Saorise, Kai whispered to Skylar while trying to suppress his

feelings for her. “It's been such a long time since we last met, so I really miss you. I tried to text you, but

you blacklisted me.”

Skylar glanced awkwardly at Kai before responding, “I'm sure you're just as busy as I am, so why don't

you keep your feelings to yourself?”

Ever since Kai first laid eyes on Skylar, he knew she was the perfect one for him.

Hence, his heart shattered when he heard that she was with Tobias because that meant he could only

stare at Skylar from afar. “You should be careful of Saorise. After all, she's Ford Group commercial

“I just have some time before I have to head out. Are you short on money right now? Because you

Skylar was somewhat amused by Tobias' care for her and how oblivious he was to the rules of a reality

show. “I have enough. The production team is funding this trip, so you have nothing to worry about. You

should get back to work.”

Even though Skylar would like to talk to Tobias a little longer, she knew she had to hang up because

Mavis kept staring at her.

Hence, without waiting for the man to respond, Skylar unceremoniously ended the call.

Mavis was sitting on her bed with a cigarette between her crimson red lips, contrasting the blandness

“Boyfriend?” questioned Mavis after blowing a mouthful of smoke in Skylar's direction.

are nothing if not naive. New younger artists join the entertainment industry every year, so eventually,

someone's going to replace you. If I were you, I'd marry any rich man I could get my hands on. I'd look

out for myself.”

However, Skylar refused to listen to Mavis because she thought the woman was just spewing fallacies.
