“Is the rumor about your brother and Skylar true?”

Sheldon wanted to answer but immediately held back. Instead, he responded, “How would I know? You can check out Twitter.”

Smiling, Lilian said, “I don't think it's possible. I'll be more convinced if it's your brother and Saorise. I mean, look at how many huge posters of Saorise there are in your shopping mall!”

Sheldon could not provide an explanation for that as he rarely heard Tobias talk about Saorise.

Skylar had no one to pick her up. The only car that waited for her was the organizer's black MPV, which broke down right after it arrived, so she had to wait for the next one.

The sky was dark, and the temperature was dropping. It had started to drizzle. Although it was already spring, it did not bring warmer weather.

Hugging herself by the shoulders, Skylar was so cold that she stamped her feet.

At the door, she saw two female employees who had just joined the company that day. Both of them had their husbands driving a BMW over to pick them up, and there were also children in the cars.

For a moment, she was a little envious that the wife who worked overtime was picked up by her husband.

Yet, she was still standing there eagerly waiting for the MPV, with half of her body drenched from the rain.

Leaning in, Penelope gave her some advice as she whispered, “This is the perfect time for you to act weak and vulnerable to test his response. If I were you, I would call Tobias now and ask him to pick me up.”

“I can't let so many people here find out about my relationship with Tobias, can I?”

“Silly girl, I'm just asking you to call him to test his attitude, not to get him to really come to pick you up.”

Without thinking further, Skylar was convinced by what Penelope said. She really did not make any excessive demands on Tobias usually, so she thought that getting him to pick her up would be an easy request.

“Could you come pick me up? I got wet from the rain.”

Tobias, who was chatting with Claudia, asked without hesitation, “Where are you? I'm coming over.”

Before Skylar could tell him the address, another MPV sent by the organizer had already arrived.

Tobias patted his mother on the shoulder. “I guess something happened over there. Anyway, I'm heading home. You should go to bed early. Didn't you make an appointment with your friend to play cards tomorrow morning? Win big, Mom.”

Sighing, Claudia lamented, “What's the use of winning more money when there is such a prodigal son in the family? Sheldon has spent too much money recently. You should make time to have a talk with him.”

“He is already an adult and knows what he wants to do. It's useless for me to intervene. He can spend it as he likes. It's not too much money anyway.”

The only regret Claudia had was spoiling Sheldon too much. Tobias had also been indulging him so much that he would even clean up the huge mess Sheldon left behind.
