Chapter 2267
"I've heard of you!" Valerie exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at Sylvia. "Ms. Jarvis, you look stunning!"
"Thank you!" Sylvia replied with a smile.
Valerie's expression grew even friendlier. "I'm Valerie. My family is launching an exclusive members' club at the end of the year. If you and Mr. Carnes are free during the holidays, you should definitely check it out. I have a lifetime VIP card here for you, hoping Ms. Jarvis will accept!"
As she spoke, Valerie pulled a meticulously crafted gold card from her bag and handed it over to Sylvia.
Sylvia realized at that moment that Valerie had mistaken her for someone else!
She was probably looking for Estelle, or actually, she was likely aiming for Gabriel.
Sylvia glanced at the gold card in the girl's hand, which read "Moonlight Club - An Elite Private Members' Club."
Sylvia didn't take the card, and upon giving Valerie another look, noted her pink PRADA scarf, a designer GG handbag, and a sapphire necklace from GK Jewelry studio. From head to toe, the girl was decked out in luxury brands, naturally exuding an aura of sophistication.
As for her looks, Sylvia raised an eyebrow slightly. Average, she thought.
With her eyes softening, Sylvia responded, "Thank you, but I'm afraid my brother and I won't be needing it. I'll be home with him over the holidays, so he won't be bored."
Valerie's smile sweetened, echoing Sylvia's sentiment. "It's clear Ms. Jarvis and her brother share a close bond. It's really admirable!"
Her gaze flickered, tentatively asking, "If you don't mind me asking, does your brother have a girlfriend?"
"Of course!" Sylvia nodded with an air of importance. "He's of age. How could he not have a girlfriend?"
Valerie looked surprised. "But I heard Mr. Carnes has been too busy with his career to date."
"How can you believe rumors?" Sylvia's smile deepened. "My brother just prefers to keep his private life under wraps to avoid any disturbances."
"I see!" Valerie sounded somewhat disappointed but probed further, "So, your brother's girlfriend must be quite beautiful, huh?"
"Yes, the kind of beauty that gets complimented at first sight," Sylvia confirmed.
With that, Valerie seemed to let the matter go, smiling, "Ms. Jarvis, were you heading out? I won't keep you then. My dad is still in talks with Old Mr. Jarvis, so I should head back."
"Sure," Sylvia responded, her demeanor still warm and welcoming.
After bidding Sylvia farewell, Valerie felt a tad disheartened.
As she walked through the courtyard towards the guest hall, passing through a floral archway, she caught sight of a handsome, ruggedly charismatic man approaching. Her heart skipped a beat at the sight of his upright figure, and her eyes lit up.
Old Wade, carrying a tray of tea, greeted the man respectfully, "Young Master Jarvis!"
Gabriel nodded slightly, "Grandfather and the guests are in the front hall."
"Yes!" Old Wade turned and left.
Valerie's eyes sparkled at the realization that this man was indeed a young Jarvis family member.
Seizing the moment, she stepped through the floral archway and pretended to be lost. "Excuse me, are you Mr. Carnes? I'm Valerie. I
came
e with my father to visit Old Mr. Jarvis, and I've somehow lost my way back to him. Do you know Where he might be?"
Gabriel nodded, "They're in the front hall. This way."
"Thank you!" Valerie watched him, and as he started to walk away, she quickly presented the gold card she had initially offered Sylvia. "This is for our new private club. When you have time, perhaps you could bring your girlfriend."
"My girlfriend?" Gabriel caught the insinuation in her words, his eyebrows arching slightly. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Yes, I met your sister Ms. Jarvis outside. She told me about her," Valerie said with a smile. "Ms. Jarvis is truly beautiful and very charming."
Gabriel's eyebrows lifted slightly. "The girl in the light sweater?"
"Yes, that's her!"
"What did she say?" Gabriel's tone was cool and measured.
