Chapter 9 Jealousy

Just as Evelyn was about to close her mouth, he pressed his thumb against her teeth, and she instinctively opened her mouth again, letting Huston play with her mouth.

Eventually, he had enough fun and withdrew his fingers. He grabbed a tissue to carefully wipe his fingers, and glanced at Evelyn, sitting in a confused daze.

Her innocence ignited his desire. However, they just had sex in the dining room, it’d be too much for her to handle if he f*cked her

again.

“It’s unbelievable your husband chose another woman. He probably hasn’t seen you in this light before,” Huston sarcastically

remarked,

Perhaps Huston didn’t intend to belittle her, but his words struck a chord. Embarrassed and angry, Evelyn wrapped herself in clothes and rushed out of the room.

As Huston watched her disappearing figure at the doorway, a wider smile played across his eyes. Not only was she as pure as a daisy, but she was also playing hard–to–get.

Evelyn headed straight to the room Huston arranged for her, locked the door, and threw herself onto the bed.

The thought of what had just occurred made her feel butterflies. She hurriedly got up and rushed to the bathroom, turning on the tap to splash her face.

The cold water cooled her, but only a little. When she looked at her flushed appearance in the mirror, she turned away.

What made her any different from Jerry now?

Despite her intention to divorce, she hadn’t followed through. By having sex with Huston, did she have ulterior motives beyond

escaping her marriage?

Evelyn questioned herself internally, yet she couldn’t muster the courage to face the truth.

She wanted Huston’s help to reclaim what rightfully belonged to her and win the lawsuit. But he wanted her body and though she

wouldn’t admit it, she… wanted him too.

She noticed the lingering red marks on her face, less swollen now. She remembered how tenderly Huston had treated her wound

in the study just now…

Shaking her head vigorously, Evelyn snapped herself out of her reverie.

The sound of knocking on the bedroom door interrupted her thoughts.

She wiped her face clean and approached the door. Huston’s displeased face greeted her as she opened it. “You locked the

door?”

She pursed her lips. “I’m going to sleep.”

A grin spread across his lips. “Who told you we’d be sleeping in separate beds?” Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

Her eyes widened, and she quickly took a glance at the king–sized bed.

Huston pushed the door open and stepped inside.

After closing the door, he picked her up and pressed her against the bed. “You’re testing my limits. Not being a very good girl…”

When their eyes met, the playful glimmer had faded from his gaze, leaving behind an incomprehensible darkness.

She swallowed hard, about to come up with an excuse, when her phone on the nightstand suddenly vibrated.

She breathed a sigh of relief. “L–Let me answer the phone first.”

He didn’t refuse her, but he didn’t release her either. He grabbed the phone himself, keeping her underneath him.

Upon seeing the caller ID, Huston raised an eyebrow. He answered the call and placed the phone next to Evelyn’s ear.

“Evelyn! Where the hell are you?! You think you can just disappear for days?! You even took your IDs!” Jerry’s irritable voice echoed from the other end.

The color drained from her face, “Why are you calling? I don’t have time for your nonsense.”

“You’ve forgotten who you are, huh? We are still married, so you’re still my legal wife!” His tone was full of disgust, “And if I want to f*ck you, you can’t say no!”

Suppressing the bitterness in her heart, Evelyn responded calmly, “I’d rather have f*ck a dog than you.”

Before Jerry could say anything, Huston pinched her hard. She bit back a yelp, then looked up and at his displeased gaze.

Jerry recognized her little scream just now all too well. And it was late at night! He was agitated now. “Damn it! Are you fooling around with other men? Where are you?!”

“It’s none of your business. And the only way I’ll go back is if you sign the divorce papers.”

He continued to curse on the other line, but Evelyn hung up.

Though she had feigned toughness and indifference, she couldn’t help but feel the sorrow deep down inside.

After all, she had loved that man for so many years. Letting go wasn’t easy.

Huston looked at all the emotions dancing in her eyes, and slid his hand underneath her shirt, making her jump.

“W–Wait!” she gasped. “I- I don’t-!”

His pupils were blown back, almost completely dark. “You might say you don’t want it. But I don’t see you pushing me away…

Evelyn put her hands against his chest, but she felt his hard muscle under her palms… and she didn’t push away. Her breathing quickened, and she rubbed her thighs together involuntarily. Huston chuckled darkly.

“When are you finally going to be honest with yourself?” he asked huskily, his hot breath against her ear. “Just admit that you want this. That you want me…”

Her face heated, with anger, with embarrassment, and she couldn’t deny… with desire.

“You…” she started, then growled in frustration. “God, I hate you!”

He laughed again. “Maybe, but this…” He slid one hand down and pressed a finger against her damp panties, making her whimper. “…tells me otherwise.”

She turned away, shameful tears stinging in her eyes. But he lifted her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes.

“Don’t…” he said softly, more tender than before. “Don’t fight me…”

His face was inches from hers. Her eyes flit between his eyes and his plush lips. Just a few inches more, and she could kiss him…

“Evelyn,” he groaned. “Give yourself to me…”
