The other high-society ladies shot envious glances their way. Many of them had daughters they'd love to marry into the Donovan family, but it was Flora, the newcomer from the mundane world, who caught their attention. And Flora, she really did have something special about her.
When Flora heard the name Shadow, she couldn't help but feel exasperated. Shadow? What a twist of fate. Just a few days ago, she had left him unable to stand after a sparring match.
"Alright then, it's settled. When he's free, I'll bring him over to meet you!" Chelsea decided enthusiastically.
Flora quickly interjected, "No, no, Chelsea, I really appreciate the offer, but I already have a boyfriend, and he's from the Corporate World too."
Mae, sitting nearby, suddenly straightened up. Flora has a boyfriend? Since when? Didn't she just arrive in the Corporate World?!
"Oh, really? Well, alright..." Chelsea said, sounding a bit let down. But then she thought, what did it matter if Flora had a boyfriend? They weren't married. Her son was exceptional; he could certainly win Flora over!

Once the high-society ladies left, Flora was about to head back to her room when Mae stopped her, looking serious. "Flora, dear, tell me, what's your boyfriend's name?"
Concerned Flora might be getting duped, Mae was eager to know. Flora, knowing Mae truly cared for her, didn't hold back. "His name is Connor."
Mae was speechless. A name she had never heard before. Flora must be getting tricked.
The next morning, Flora headed to the Medical Hall. Corbyn had jokingly threatened that if she didn't show up, he'd harm himself with a block of tofu.
"Flora, you've got some nerve
showing up here!" Sydney snapped as soon as she saw Flora, her expression turning sour. Her knees were still aching, and yet Flora had the audacity to come back.
Flora just smiled at her, eyes twinkling with mischief. "Oh, yelling at me? Guess your knees aren't hurting anymore. Or are you looking for another punishment?"
"You!" Sydney gritted her teeth in frustration. She dared to bring that up! If it weren't for Flora, she wouldn't have been on her knees all night!
"What's all this racket?" Corbyn came down the stairs, his disapproving gaze landing on Sydney. "Haven't you learned any manners yet? Didn't last time's lesson teach you anything?"
Sydney shrank back at the sight of
Corbyn, though she still felt defiant inside. "Boss, you shouldn't get too close to Flora. She just happened to save you on her first day in the Corporate World. How often does that happen by chance?"
Biting her lip, Sydney added bitterly, "Boss, I think Flora has an agenda. Be careful!"
Corbyn's eyebrows twitched as he listened to her wild accusations, and he chuckled dryly. "Seems you're the one trying to get close to me. But do you see me giving you any attention?"
