Chapter 926
She felt a chill run down her spine. After all the effort she had put into getting pregnant, the thought of a miscarriage was terrifying. How could she ever explain such a loss to her in-laws?
"What on earth were you thinking, giving me this sachet? I'm heading straight to the hospital for a check-up. You better hope everything's fine with my baby. If there's even the slightest issue, you won't hear the end of it!" In her fury, all pretense of civility vanished. The woman slapped Camille hard across the face and stormed off.
"Take back your sachets, and consider the money we spent as good as gone. I should have known you couldn't possibly know Féraphine."
The other ladies were just as angry. If it weren't for Camille, they would have had sachets made by Flora!
They also snatched up their things and left in a huff, barely resisting the urge to slap Camille again.
Soon, the room was empty except for Camille.
Her face was swollen on one side.
Her skin was ashen.
She looked lost and alone.
She knew she had burned every bridge this time.
But it wasn't really her fault, was it? How was she supposed to know the man was a fraud, or that Flora's perfume-making skills were so extraordinary?
After a moment, she calmed herself, stifling the anger and humiliation, picked up her bag, and left.
Her phone buzzed in her bag.
Seeing the caller ID lifted her spirits.
Her husband was calling, and he hadn't called in almost six months.
Why today? Was he finally missing her?
She answered, her voice bright with hope.
"Hello, hon-"NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
"What have you done now! You've offended so many people, I'm nearly bankrupt because of you! Do you realize that?"
His voice was furious.
"Go and apologize to every single one of them! Make them forgive you! Do you hear me? I must have been cursed to end up with you!"
Flora and Amanda had just gotten home when a servant announced Nathan's arrival.
Amanda was shocked. Nathan was a big deal on Lone Island and a fanatic. What
perfun
here all of a sudden
Amanda went out to greet him politely. "Nathan, what brings you here?"
"Xinlan, where's your daughter-in-law? Where is she?" Nathan seemed really anxious. "You're looking for Flora?"
Amanda frowned, wondering why Nathan was so urgently seeking Flora.
Could something be wrong?
"Nathan, can you tell us why you need Flora?" Amanda asked, her concern growing.
"I need to see her because..."
Just then, he spotted two people coming down the stairs.
One of them was Ethan, who Nathan recognized.
The other was a girl in light blue loungewear, sipping on a glass of milk.
Her eyes were downcast as she listened to Ethan, occasionally smiling softly,
a warmth
through her otherwise cool demeanor.
Nathan recognized her immediately!
It was Flora!
He dashed over to her!
"Nathan!"
Amanda gasped and hurried after him, her heart racing. Nathan's behavior was so strange; had
really caused some trouble
Just as her worry peaked, Nathan stopped. He stood at the bottom of the stairs, looked up at Flora, and yelled! "Master!"
Amanda: ""
Flora: "..."
She paused mid-sip.
What was going on?
Ethan's eyes widened: "Flora, Nathan is your apprentice?!"
